Description

We tried to settle him in, cheer him up, telling him stories of our mighty city at Orgrimmar in Kalimdor, but nothing would move him.

Tales of our young Warchief, Thrall, who bears the armor and hammer of Orgrim... but, perhaps... Perhaps! A demonstration of our newly found shamanistic magic would give him new hope. It is worth a try!

A small object we could make for him, yes... Bring me some raptor eyes, and I will see what I can do.

39,68 (southeast of the Circle of Inner Binding) has plenty of them (the level 33-34 ones). Great xp! 54,46 has plenty of the 30-31 ones. The drop rate seems the same.

i found all the raptors outside Hammerfall Fortress at 68.40!
killed all there and got eyes in all of them )

You can esasly do this quest in lvl 30 since you must kill lvl 31-32 beasts.

The raptors are the Highland Striders they drop the eyes, if you don't want to go to far from hammerfall then around 64,40 is a god spot for these beasts.

lol here on Ragnaros I'm getting like 1 in 20/30 raptors. Really pissing me off, you can find the raptors west of hammerfall.

I found that there is a much higher drop rate of the Highland Raptor Eyes from the Highland Thrashers.

After killing about 30 Highland Raptors for 6 eyes and moving westward I wandered into thrasher territory.
They are a little higher level but I was able to get my last 4 eyes in 5 kills.

Its pretty easy for a lvl 30 Warrior. you need to kill Highland Strider's to get the 10 Highland Raptor eye. its not ewery Highland Strider there gives 1 eye.

So what I have always wondered is... why can't you just get 2 eyes from each raptor?&nbsp What is the matter with the eyes that they have?&nbsp Did this with a 31 priest so I dont want to hear any whining =D

I killed many, many many highland striders found between the Refuge outpost and Boulderfist Outpost and zero drop. Then I went to return the quest to Hammerfall and decided to kill a few raptors just outside Hammerfall... and bang! 100 % drop rate. Took some time near Boulderfist Outpost, but it was nice XP.

Actually, the Highland Thrashers are the ones you are supposed to kill, they have a much higher droprate at least one every other kill and are levels 34-36 around and near the Circle of Inner Binding to the south.

^&*!ty drop rate still...did this over a year ago on my main, and its just as terrible. But, the drop rate for me was much much better south of the Circle of Inner Binding, as stated somewhere above....try there.

58,42 has a mob of Highland Striders that seem to have the best drop rate for the eyes.

nice xp on the raptors... co-ords are right on walked around solo in a big circle and killed a bunch of 30-33 spiders and raptors... gained half a level just on kills.

in my experience the ones around the camp have migh higher drop rates.

I suggest just doing a few circles and you'll be done in 10 minutes.

not exactly a good drop rate. took about an hour to get all ten. only the low level raptors dropped the eyes.

the good thing is the raptors are near hammerfall camp.

2700 EXP at 34. Any Raptor will do, They seemed to drop fastest off the low level ones (30-31), located at random in the zone.

I agree that they do drop faster at low level ones (30-31). Still is a long quest to do, look into spending a good hour grining these guys to get 10.
