But be careful in the cave. When they flee they call MANY others, and it is VERY fast respawn!

But I was lucky, so the sword dropped at the first one:P

an added bonus, there are a lot of good herbs in the area.&nbsp multiple growths of liferoot and khadgar's whiskers.

It seems that the respawn rate in the cave is pretty high, so be careful.

...except for the Shadow Knife part. Even playing a hunter (Lvl 34), the mobs are tightly packed in the cave, and it's hard to pick out one without being rushed by mobs from inside _and_ outside the cave (they seem to spawn outside quite frequently).

The cosmos loc for the cave with the Shadow Hunters in it is 68, 74. It is up in the hills almost directly south of the southern tip of the lake.

Shadow Hunters can generally only be found in a cave at the far SE part of Witherbark village. The knife dropped after killing about 10.

look down by the water for two snake statues then follow the trail by a box on the ground keep on the path it leads straight to the cave

The knife drops from shadowhunters in the cave at 65.75. Dropped on 5th shadowhunter kill

to find the cave, find the two stone Snake sculptures on the south shore, walk east about 20 yards past the next stone cube (there;s onlu one) and make a hard right, follow into the hills.

Followed the directions and got all the items except for one medicine bag in probably 10-15 minutes.&nbsp That last medicine bag took another 30 minutes.&nbsp Talk about frustrating. The trolls drop good stuff though, silk, wool and some times 2-3 Silver.

Great place to grind if your a rogue.&nbsp I averaged 1 silver per pick pocket and more money and some decent things to sell from loot.&nbsp You can also get quick xp if you know how to fight any humanoids.&nbsp I leveled three times at 35 and got about 34 gold.

the location of the cave is 68, 75. also a good place to grind for these items.

Maybe the drop rate has been changed, but I didn't have much trouble today. I would kill Witch Doctors as they would drop both the pouch and the tusks. Didn't kill more than 10 and had all four pouches.

Also, the cave is actually directly South of the Lake on the map. The knife dropped for me on the second shadow hunter.

The above setp were very useful! I wondered around killing lots and lots of these "regular" hunters, but no knife. Then i looked here and found out about the cave, and after a bit of a struggle to get in with my warrior i killed the first shadowhunter i saw(didn't mind aggro two others as well) killed him, got the knife (note: the first one) and ran out. Luckily a had two healing potions, because they followed for a while, atleast the "guards" at the entrance...
FINALLY!

I had a 100% drop rate of the medicine pouch from the Witherbark Witch Doctor at 66:64

Is once inside the cave solo, it's difficult not to aggro all those little trolls. Yes, the respawn rate is staggering!

Medecine pouches also from witch doctors in cave - which may be more efficient as you need to go there to get the dagger.

I soloed it at 34 (warrior). Tusks from about every 4, pouches from every 6 (maybe), got knife on the very first one :)

Very simple for a LVL 35 Warrior.

Map coordinate 68,74 is correct. I got my knife from the first Shadow Hunter in the cave.

Be warned that they do flee when at 10% or so hp left and oftentimes attracts another to you.

pretty esay quest for a lvl 33 warrior the pouches were quite hard 4 pouches 45 kills the knife dropped really fast 2 kills

The tusks drop generally outside witherbank village, the medicine pouches are dropped from the witch doctors, took me about 20 kills to get the 4 pouches, but watch out for them running when down to about 10% XP. The knife is dropped from just inside the cave, pretty quickly. I solo'd this with my lvl36 Paladin, very straightforward and helped me with the XP to move towards lvl 37, in fact stayed round a bit just to rake in the XP.

VERY ANNOYING! As a lvl 32 rogue I can aggro at least two 34 shadows....but everytime I get close to the cave at least 4 of them pop out of nowhere and bug the hell out of me....

Go strait to the cave, plenty of everything to kill there. I spent ages killing headhunters and witchdocs and then looked for the cave, wasted a lot of time

The closer you are to the camps the more likely you will recieve the tusks.

Solo'd this quest with a lvl 40 (!) druid. Use Hurricane on the Shadow casters... that kills of their imp before they can even get a shot off.

Getting to the village can be a 'laugh'? trying to avoid spiders and level 36 raptors galore, especially if you don't want to get involved with them...however, as noted in a number of posts below, try and head to the cave, where the various mobs are...For those of you like my goodself, that do not use co-ordinates, basically, from the Southern tip of the lake near the village, head directly south, it's around there. Lurking about are the headhunters and witch doctors, both of which drop the various quest items you require. You have to into the cave to find the Shadow hunters who drop the knife, but if you around level 32-33, should prove no problem. Fortunately, I had a drop first time, so didn't have to go too far in as these boys seem to agro for miles. Personally, I cleared out the cave entrance, waited until one of them took a stroll up the slope,couple of biffs with the big fella and he was running away like a girl (No offense ladies!). Found a few witch doctors to get the medical bags and headed back across the lake, which by the way isn't a bad way out either as there are not too many mobs to deal with. One question, anyone know how those axe thrower boys can get their axes to bend round trees and over hills..amazing!

The Witherbark village is in the southeast corner of the Arathi Highlands.
The Witherbark Tusks can be found easily, any Witherbark drops them. The Medicine Pouchs can be found killing Witch Doctors all around the village, and the Shadow Hunter Knife can be found killing Shadow Hunters inside the cave south from the village's lake.

Soloed it with a level 33~34 Mage. Took me 1 hour or less to complete.

Easy done as a level 33 warrior even .. if u have some gear not 100% twinked though.. but easy :) if u can play ur class right and the right build ofc.

drop rate is verylow, soloed as a lvl 34 hunter..
the axe throwers are very weak in close combat...
