Sawtooth Snapper Claw (6)

Description

With the threat of murlocs along the coast, we're stationed out here to protect--or warn if the force is too large--of any coming threats to Stonard. It doesn't give us much time for relaxation, and we could use some more help if you're able.

The sawtooth snappers' claws make for fine weapons when properly prepared. Bring me some of their claws and I'll see you're rewarded with one of our weapons in thanks for the fresh meat and the good company.

I cant stress this enough! Dont waste your time fighting crocs next to misty reed. Pick up the Fresh Meat quest..go into the water at 88, 82 and start swimming... theres a multitude of crocs!!!! plus all the monstrous crawlers you could imagine.. PLEASE START THERE!

I was trying to get snappers around the previosly established coordinates and another hunter was there so not many to go around so i remembered killing crocs in misty reed strand......there are sawtooth snappers all along the coast i found a goud group of them around the coords 89, 95 or so.

just make sure you can breath water by potion or such
also around 91,96

Along the way, you may encounter a drake elite named Somnus, so keep an eye out. I had the luck of being killed by him when I was AFK.

84, 64 is correct! Head inland and the drop rate was about 75% for me.

Got all 6 in about 10 minutes

verifying earlier message - i found plenty of snappers, with very good drop rate, around (75,18), which is doubly nice because it's on land.

Tok'Kar at the Misty Reed Strand is kind enough to give you a quest after the hectic ^&*!@ing and moaning on the general chat trying to find the #$%^er. The Sawtooth Snappers are east of Stonard and just west of the Misty Reed Strand. There is no need to breath underwater. Its just like the first quest in this chain. Kill the crocs in the swamp to get stuff. The only thing bad about this is that you need to watch out for the ? level dragon Somnus who will gank the ^&*! out of you. Be careful of him. Other than that there is no real threat. The Snappers are levels 41-42. Didn't see any higher. 43 hunter when I did this quest. Got about 240 exp average per kill. Drop rate was excellent. I guess its just random. Patience. Its good exp. Upon turning in this quest I got 3450 exp. Good quest. Easy. Hope this helped. ~JacksHeart~

I killed about 15 off the coast and didn't get a single claw.
Went to the coordinates 84, 64 and drop rate improved significantly.

Edit: I lied. >_>
Drop rate was good the first two but then I killed like 25 more and got only 2 more claws.
Went back out to the coast, first two I killed dropped the last two I needed.
So basically I believe the crappy drop rate is the same inland and off the shore.

Well the drop isnt so bad imo,and u have to dodge the elite dragonkin(lucky to be a rogue),and...Somnus a ? lvl dragon that deals 1.5k dmg with a blow.Have fun xD

Best way to do this quest (imo) is to do it together with the 'fresh meat' quest.
The snappers and the crawlers needed for 'Fresh Meat' and this quest are both in the ocean to the very east of SoS. If you go too far north or too far south however the crawlers will be of the wrong kind.

There are some murloc camps, but the murlocs usually stay by the beach, easy to swim around and there are snappers and crawlers in the waters around the camps.

Have fun and good luck :)

This quest isnt bad for xp but the drop rate of the claws is pretty terrible. Took 8 Sawtooth Snappers before I got my first claw.

northern down to middle Misty Reed has them... they are concentrated inland along the waterways closest to the beach. but they are also found in the ocean off shore. best bet is to kill them at the waterway inland closest to the beach. there's just a whole lot more of them there

Sawtooth Snappers can also be found in the sea all along the coast. Pick up "Fresh Meat" while you're at it. http://classicdb.ch/?quest=1430

I found most of mine (as well as the legs for "Fresh Meat" just off the coast at 78, 96. You have to swim a bit, but there are lots of crocks and crawlers there.

The snappers are just north of the misty reed outpost in the swamp near the beach.&nbsp Just watch out for the wyrmkin elites.&nbsp I'm lvl 42 and almost died killing one of the 42 elites.&nbsp Got the claws very quickly from the 41-42 crocs.&nbsp Also watch out for the big elite dragon flying around.&nbsp He goes slow, but was level ? to me.&nbsp Don't bother killing murlocs until you complete this quest and get the next one.&nbsp 3450 XP.

Had a good start with this got 3/6 in about the first 4 kills, but i've killed about 10-15 since and nothing...

Its quite fun killing them though tbh and its 250xp for pretty easy fights (Level 40 Shaman)

I killed about 30 Sawtooth Crocolisks and got zip squat nuttin' nada bupkiss before I realized it is the Sawtooth Snappers I needed. D'oh! Sawtooth Snappers are along the coast and in the marsh just in from it. I probably had a 50% drop rate on the claws. The sawtooth snappers were level 41 and 42.

So my advice would be to forget the crocolisks and go for the snappers. Ja, I know - that's what the quest text asks for! Next time I'll read it...

Just a heads up for anyone searching out in deeper, and a bit murky waters in forbidden sea, this fella will eat your lunch. Drop rate sucked for me, i did this as a 43 lock, piece of cake to take out the mobs until I met this guy, died and had to run all the way back from Stonard.

Avoidance is everything

Walk through the most directly left waterpools between the shore and the inner lands up north and kill the sawtooth lvl 42. THEY GOT THE LOOT!

Drop rate about 1 in 4 for me. They are all alog the coast if you go into slightly deeper water. Many more in the sea than walking along the beach.
