The Battle for Alterac

Enter Alterac Valley and defeat the dwarven general, Vanndar Stormpike. Then, return to Voggah Deathgrip in the Alterac Mountains.

 Defeat Vanndar Stormpike.

Description

The Stormpike dwarves and their allies have invaded Alterac Valley, and we must drive them out! To win the battle for Alterac, we must defeat their general, Vanndar Stormpike!

You will find Vanndar in Dun Baldar, in the north of Alterac Valley.

Destroy him, <name>, and then return to me.

With the 2.3 patch this quest now gives 15k XP! Also the quests still states that you need to kill Van. This is incorrect. You only need to win the AV. This makes completing this quest easy because with the 2.3 changes sometimes you will not even wind up at the end and you will win.

When this quest is completed, the quest Hero of the Frostwolf, https://classicdb.ch/?quest=8272 which has you pick one of the pvp weapons, becomes available from Voggah.

FYI.

I wanted the Bloodseeker crossbow, one of the 4 blue weapons from winning a AV match. They used to be won from a different quest.

This guy made no mention of the weapons. Before entering AV, I flew to Tarrn Mill, and ran up to entrace, and got the quest "Battle for Altarac".
Again, it made no mention of the weapons.

We won the match.

I went back to this guy, and he was yellow ?'ed. I talked to him and he gave me the money and the XP.

Then when I was done, he yellow ?'ed again! He said good fight, you deserve a reward, pick one of theese 4 items!

Thats how its done now.

Have completed this quest once on a mage. but that was after the mage had turned 60. Just curious can you get this quest as soon as you hit 50-51? would be a great weapon to have lvl'ing up through the 50's with my pally. and its even a pretty good wep post 60 also :)

I can't even get Voggah to acknowledge me. I've gotten the Ice Barbed Spear on my hunter and had no problems. I went up to him, he gave me the quest and everything was smooth. Now I'm trying to get the quest with my 60 Warrior who is revered in Frostwolf and he wont talk to me at all. Is there something I need to do first?

same thing happened to me, we killed dwarf boss, and i never got the quest completed... il try again.
