Tremors of the Earth

Retrieve the Sign of the Earth for Garek.
Sign of the Earth

Description

I heard from Sigrun that you have been a great help to him. Perhaps I might enlist your help. I was sent here by my master, Krasus of the Kirin Tor, to put an end to the trouble brewing in Lethlor Ravine.

I cannot divulge the exact nature of my assignment here or the tasks that I must undertake, but be assured it is of vital importance.

A band of wandering ogres, sometimes seen near Camp Boff, stole an object called the Sign of the Earth; I must have it. Bring it to me, and I will tell you more.

If you can't activate this quest from Garek, it's most probably because you haven't completed Sigrun's Mirages quest

He can spawn with 5 other orge sidekicks. If you wish to solo this, simply wait until they start moving out of camp. The boss will probably lag behind the rest that's when you want to sneak up to draw his aggro. You may end up with one or two more adds but that is better than facing all six of them.

ok to get this quest, u have to do a prequest, called "mirages" this is a very easy quest, you get it from a guy very near garek, i think a little west. hes on a hill, you can do two quests from him, you must do "mirages" to be able to get the quest form garek

Sign of the Earth drops from Boss Tho'grun who is part of that ogre pat that paths around Badlands. If you can't find him, he spawns around 62,66.

For those still looking for the sign of earth, the Boss ogre that travels with the pack from Camp Boff to the cave and back has it.&nbsp Just kill him and he drops it.&nbsp If you wait, you can lure him away from his entourage for easier killing.

Easy to find and easy to kill, just shot him from the back of the gang.

I did this at lvl 42 rogue. Cleared Camp Boff and waited on him and his posse. They hang around Camp Boff for a few minutes then wander off. When leaving, Boss and his little mage buddy lag behind. Threw a dagger at Boss and he and lil buddy came back. Whupped em. Others kept on walking.

Easiest quest. EVER.
As a rogue try to find them at the above mentioned 62,66 coordinates.
Wait for them to start the patrol,I waited for about 4 minutes.
Walk behind Boss. Sap him (hopefully imp sap so you go back to stealth and dont aggro). His adds keep on walking. Sap one more time for good measure. Then own him.
Solo without losing more than 300hp at lvl 42.

Gl :)

When I came to the boss I waited for his goons to pass so I was standing behind him. Once I was behind him I just shot him with a fireball it pulled him while his crew kept walking.

I'm not 100% sure that this is the only route he takes, but I have seen him at the small darkbelcher camp (Camp Boff) and later saw him almost to that camp/city Kargath (far west side map). So I guess if you run between the camp and Kargath, you might see him.&nbsp Also during the route, they walked like 50 feet from Lorwil, who gives quests at 26,45.

Incredibly easy as a rogue. I did this at 43. All you have to do is wait for them to start moving and start sapping a few of the guards to get the order mixed around, otherwise the guards will stop when you sap the Boss. After a little bit of sapping them (I think you need to sap them all for this to work), then just sap the Boss and wait until the guards keep walking on then just fight him 1 on 1.

Did this dead easy with lvl 45 warlock. Just sent the void walker to the rear of the group and attack the boss, he only attracted the attention of 1 other guard (mage) killed them both before void was down to 90% health.&nbsp Found the group traveling from the duskbowl to the camp.

lvl 44 druid

I did this quest pretty easy...
I wondered around camp, and when they strarted to go away I followed and attacked the little one (lvl 36). Only the Boss attacked me and others kept on walking... I killed the little one then the Boss... So, pretty easy... -)

I couldn't find this guy, so I started the Agmond quest. While killing the troggs I saw Boss Tho'grun and his henchman traveling.&nbsp I got behind him and was easily able to take him down, only pulling his shaman.

I'm a lvl 40 NE Shadow spec priest. Not a problem at all.

Everything is so easy since 2.3. Questing is almost fun. I did this as a 41 Rogue. Ironically I'd been killing the guy for fun by picking off his entourage before I picked up the quest. Just as described earlier just sap the laggers. I like to sap them, wait for the entourage to move up a bit, then kill the sapped guy. For some reason it gives me a kick to see the group apparently unaware that their numbers are magically diminishing.

Sloppily solo'd this as a lvl43 enh shammy. Waited at the spawn point, got behind them when they started moving off, shocked the mystic, which pulled the boss and one guard. Stoneclaw totem, grounding totem, nuked the boss down, looted, then popped ghostwolf and legged it. Simple, but effective!

As a paladin, mounted, I runned over them, then aggroed everyone. I didn't stop, and when I had some distance, I returned and casted repentance on Tho'grun. So, I runned until leave combat and returned to Tho'grun, who had not evaded yet. So easy :)

As Morandis stated above, come from behind the wandering group, shoot the Boss, he leaves to attack you (he brings a shaman with him) and as a Lvl 42 warrior I concentrated on the boss first, then the shaman. No problem!

Garek would not talk to me, so I took and completed the Mirages quest from the dwarf on the hill across from him. I did not have to do the follow-up quest for the scrap metal, and Garek gave me the Tremors quest.

don't bother with the quest if u're a caster, the quest reward is worse than the triune amulet from SM and it's not an easy quest to do, good xp but u might as well go grind on something else

Bad news. It doesn't seem possible to pull one at a time any more. My 42 Priest tried 4 times, at different points in their tour and then at Camp Boff. No matter which one I tried to pull, the others joined in, and they are unnaturally close to each other. Could the quest have changed?

I'm a little late in the game with this quest, or at least I feel like I am with how easy it was. He was with his buddies, headed away from the camp, i came up behind him, hit him, only a lvl 37 caster came to defend him. he wasn't that tough. none of them really are, and theyre still resonable xp as a 44 pally. they also drop scrap metal that you need for another quest. While youre waiting, kill wolves and buzzards, you need their parts for yet another quest. Very easy, and worth the time!

(42 paladin)
spoke to the questgiver then a couple seconds later the ogre group showed on the horizon. The boss walked several steps behind the rest, with lvl 37 shaman. pulled the boss w/ judgement of command without getting aggro from the rest. then it was a fairly easy combat. only one seal and no heal. the quest item dropped and quest completed. didn't even have to search them anyway

only took 3 miutes or something. fairly easy, though it might get sickly if the entire band get the aggro and healing becomes impossible

I wandered over to camp Boff where I got lucky and the group was spawning. I'm a hunter so sent my pet in to take the pounding whilst I popped off shots. Pet died when the boss was at about 5% so when he came after me I took a couple of axe swings to finish him and then feigned death. The rest of the group then took off after some poor elf who I suspect had been waiting at the spawn point for ages. Sorry whoever it was -)

The Ogres wander most of the Badlands and generally stop for a few minutes at each camp of ogres scattered around. The band of ogres is about 7 strong and range in levels from about 37-42. If you're very careful and very patient, you can kill the named ogre mob solo by waiting for him to lag behind the pack.
