Turtle Meat (10)
Soothing Spices

Description

Who says that the undead don't know anything about cooking? Take my secret recipe for Turtle Bisque, for example. I've known folks that would come back from the dead just to enjoy a bowl! Heh, heh...

Speaking of which, I haven't been able to make any lately. I used to head over to Lake Lordamere myself to hunt snapjaws, the nasty things, but I can't pull myself away from my work here.

If you bring me some Turtle Meat from the snapjaws and soothing spices, I'll show you how it's done!

I got the meat for this in Thousand Needles. At the north end of shimmering flats the turtles are in camps much closer together than in hillsbrad. They are yellow so they don't aggro, making this also a nice grinding spot.

Lordamere Lake, where you are supposed to kill the turtles is actually located in alterac mountains.

Once again Bliz has set up an easy quest... Just grind the turtles on the river to the east... if your really lazy take the Flight to Undercity and check the AH for the items this quest needs... I received the recipe and sold it on the AH for 2g.... You can get the Soothing Spices from the Trades Goods Seller.

I didn't pay too much attention to this quest because the extra low drop rate it has on Hillsbrad I was even going to abandon it. But I went questing to Thousand Needles at Shimmering Flats doing "Hardened Shells" quest and I got all my meat getting the shells for this quest.

These can be bought like, anywhere, from a trade goods vendor, cooking supplies vendor, or for convenience's sake, the questgiver himself (!)

for the turtle meat, Sparkleshell Snappers/Tortoises have a 100% droprate. they are found in Shimmering Flats, 1000 Needles.

You guys should read the quest more carefully, because he says he is after the Lake Lordemere snapjaws. I went there and killed the turtles there, the meat drops almost 2 at a time per kill.

Tauren Warrior - 35 @ the time of turn in.
Cooking skill @ 99/150

The Shimmering Flats is a great place to level 32-33. Accept all the quests at the race track then move counter clockwise from the quest givers in a full circle. Kill EVERYTHING you see. One of the side effects of this is an abundance of turtle meat. Finish there, then go to Arathi Highlands, pick up and turn in this quest along the way for an easy 2500 exp!

FYI (cause I haven't seen it listed) HORDE SIDE: Get the spices form the bloke who gives you the quest.

This quest can take some serious time, as the Turtle meat likes to not drop alot. but sometimes there is a chance it will drop more then 1 at a time off the snapjaws up the river, so just be patient.

You can find the soothing spices from the Trade Goods merchant in the northern most building in Southshore.

He has a grey exclamation mark over his head for me. I believe that means he has a quest but is gonna wait til I'm too high for it to be useful. I'm 28, but that bum better give it to me at 29 cuz I got a bunch of Turtle Meat to cook.

You need to have cooking profession.

I had skill level 0 and i got the quest.

Easy 2500xp if you have saved Turle Meat from Shimmering Flats questing.

As of patch 1.10 he gives this quest at 28 ... I'm also 225/225 in cooking, but I'm sure that has no impact as I have been 225/225 in cooking since I started doing the majority of my questing from Tarren Mill, at level 26.

as far as i can tell u need some sort of reputation or faction with southshore before he will offer u the quest.

Same...but the same exact quest works with alliance.

Maybe its alliance only, and the horde one is a mistake and they put and NPC even though its an alliance quest.

For Alliance folks, this quest is given by Chef in the Inn in Southshore. You can find Soothing Spices on sale at the butcher in a different building in Southshore (closer to the griffs).
