The items drop off the following mobs:

Grel'borg the Miser in Alterac Mountains. (Nb Coordinates, Patrolling Mob of Alterac)
Grel'borg moves from the Town Hall to the Castle. He starts in the Town hall, but I found him just inside the castle door off to the left.

Mogh the Undying - Stranglethorn Vale - (48,44)
This mob is located at 48,44 with two other mobs as bodyguards. He's easy to kill with two people attacking, so I recommend you take someone else along because it's nearly impossible alone. He has a regeneration of his health which makes him so hard, so remember to bring heavy DPS.

Dagon the Ravenous - Dustwallow Marsh - (59, 9)
Roam around the island searching for a Mirefin Oracle on the outer edge, You need to kill Mirefin Oracles to get the piece of Kelp required to summon Dagon the Ravenous. When you place the Kelp inside an altar at the coordinates, Dagon comes out of the water and onto the beach. He's rather easy to kill though, but I recommend you bring a friend with you.

The specific Kelp you'll be looking for is Enchanted Sea Kelp and - as you would see from the item's page - has a pretty crappy drop rate.

I've spent several hours with various characters farming those oracles. If you intend to do this quest, prepare to be on this step for a while (unless you're lucky).

the summoning altar is located on the largest of the four islands clustered in the north east of dustwallow marsh. pretty much just farm there and then summon the guy, he comes from the water so try to clear first.

the ogre guy walks around in the ruins of alterac from the main building where the lead ogre is to right around the church.

the damn troll is by far the hardest of the three to kill. he's located in the ruins of zul'marme (think that's the spelling tho the scroll you get tells you this too). he's standing still tho he's surrounded immediately by his slave who heals him and one other troll. now, the area he's in also has around 5 more trolls and the way they fight, they can add very quickly. as a 45 rogue this was tough just b/c of all the surrounding guys. got him, looted and ran. gl.

I killed maybe two dozen on the large island before I stumbled upon a level 37 elite murloc just wandering around. He dropped the kelp immediately. He is just a little bit north of the alter, on a hill.

Try killing him for the kelp, if you're having a hard time.

Hi everyone,

it tooked me about 2 days to get the Kelp the first time after killing countless murlocs. As i was about to clean up around the altar the Kelp droped a second time, only approximatly 20 minutes after i got the first Kelp.

So for everyone who failed the first attempt: the murlocs DO drop the Kelp more then just once. just be pacient and dont give up.

i did the quest at lvl 47 (druid) and got 5600 xp for the hand in in IF.

Killed about 50 murloc oracle when i got the enchanted kelp. Right click on kelp near altar and the giant comes from east, no add murloc was in way, level 43 elite, could kill easily.
Murlocs are level 36-38, so around level 43-44 its a piece of cake quest.

Happy murloc hunting!

Ok, so Dagun (the giant) and Grel'borg (the ogre) aren't too hard to complete as a rogue.&nbsp You should be able to do this with relative ease, pop evasion, stun or gouge, bandage when you have to...

However when it came to Mogh, it was a little bit more difficult, but not impossible.&nbsp Yes the spawn times are quick, but you can work around this by clearing only the front near the ramp.&nbsp You can single pull all the mobs, besides the berserker and Mogh's slave.&nbsp Do so, and you should have an open area with those three left.&nbsp At this point, you are trying to eliminate the berserker next to him.&nbsp So sap the slave and move away from Mogh, while killing the berserker.&nbsp Finish him, and then vanish.&nbsp Mogh and the slave should remain.&nbsp Wait for your potion and/or evasion timer(s) and sap the slave again while taking out Mogh.&nbsp Done.

I just soloed this as a 46 fire mage. Dagun and Grel'Borg are pretty straight-forward and easy. Mogh however is a different story.

Basically, to solo Mogh, I had to get it down to just him and his healing minion. You're able to pull most of the mobs alone easily enough, but there's always one mob that stands right next to him, and another that paths to and away from him. Disposing of the latter is simply a matter of timing, but the former basically involves quickly killing him and then running away until Mogh resets. Do not bother to try and kill the healer this way, because Mogh will simply summon a new one.

Now that you've got Mogh and the healer alone, it's time to kill them. While charging up a Pyroblast on his slave (you MUST kill him first or he'll make the fight impossible as he heals for quite a bit), target Mogh and be ready to sheep the second the Pyroblast is away. Now you must simply deal with the mind slave quickly before he has a chance to heal (you want to save your counterspell).

So now it's just you and Mogh who is hopefully still chilling as a sheep. Pop Combustion, charge up a pyroblast, and let it rip. After your first Fireball cast a Counterspell to keep Mogh from spamming his shadowbolts for a little while. At this point it's basically a DPS race between you and Mogh, and if you got the Countespell off you should be well on your way to victory. If you screw up the CS like I did simply chug a nice fat health pot and you should still have him no problem, especially when you start critting.

i swam up from the south and cleared all the islands of oracles and had it drop fairly quick before i even reached the altar island... its easier than trying to clean the specific island out multiple times. the ogre was an easy 2nd and im on my way to kill the undying. got to this later on, so its not a hard solo at 45+

You can kelp from any of the murlock's you just have to kill till it drops. Dagun's a lvl 43 elite, you summon him on the northenmost island off the coast, coordinates 58-9. I took him with help, I'm a 43 hunter and had a lvl 40 hunter with me. We took him easily, taking no damage to either of us. It took me 45 minutes to get the kelp tho... Good luck!

Since nobody has posted it yet, here's the text of the quest scroll:

The Star of Xil'yeh

An ogre in Alterac, Grel'borg the Miser, was the last known owner of this gem. Whispered to empower its owner with the ability to commune with other worlds. Sources tell us Grelbord wanders the ruins of Alterac in the Alterac Mountains, searching the rubble and debris for more relics.

The Hand of Dagun

Dagun is a creature of the deep waters, worshipped by Murlocs in Dustwallow Marsh. They entice him to the surface with a special sea kelp, enchanted by their shamans. Hunt the Murlocs, gather their enchanted kelp, then place it on the Murloc's altar. Dagun will come, and you will be waiting.
I want that hand.

The Legacy Heart

Old texts say that he who possess the Legacy Heart fears not the grave. Perhaps this is true, for the owner of the heart, the htroll Mogh, is known as Mogh the Undying. A witchdoctor of the Skullspitter tribe, Mogh dwells in Stranglethorn in the Ruins of Zul'Mamwe.

Grel'borg the Miser: this ogre wanders around where people doing the crown of will (horde) quest chain will probably kill him moderately regularly. He's a caster about the same toughness as the mobs in the 41 elite stage of the crown of will (Targ, Muckrake, and Glommus), and he wanders around in the same general area. In my limited experience, the challenge on this stage will be finding him first while he's up. I've run three undead through the Crown of Will, and in the process of that and this quest, I've seen Grel'borg just about everywhere one can find Crushridge Maulers or Crushridge Enforcers.

Dagun: kill the murlocs near the altar (59,8). They appear to have a drop rate on the order of 5-10%. All of the other murlocs in Dustwallow appear to have a drop rate on the order of 0.05%. He hits hard, but is eminently kiteable. (I AoE farmed over a hundred murlocs away from the altar to verify the drop rate elsewhere is poor, and then went to the altar and got it before I finished clearing around the altar.)

Mogh the Undying: this is the mob that gives this quest its difficulty level. A very careful individual may limit the size of the combat by a combination of choosing the approach and careful pulling - you *can* get up on the wall that protects Mogh's back and side, and if you take out the one mob in the corner, have a decent area to work in. Mogh has the most hit points of those with whom he will always pull, by a fair margin, and so should be the last to be dealt with, though all applicable crowd control works on all of the adds. His friendly healer should probably be the second to last to die, as Mogh can bring him back, although sheep/sap may work better, if available. Mogh is apparently a shaman - not much of a surprise, as most, if not all, witch doctors in the game are apparently shamans.

Grellborg and the Star-

i found Grellborg in the castle at 37, 52. Followed him outside and killed him at 38, 52. he was easy as pie. his level was 38 elite. he cast's Rain of Fire which did around 130ish dmg a tick. Wasn't too difficult but then again I'm a level 42 rogue so i stealthed past all the other ogre's. also if you're up to the challenge Targ a 41 Elite is in the chapel to the right of the Castle if you're lookin' on your map at 39,53. He was a bit difficult for me the first time so i vanished, but got him easily the second time. He droped a greenie but it was worth it.

The same as somebody below, I at first spent two hours killing Oracles and then got second Enchanted Sea Kelp while clearing the space around the altar. You cannot have two, but I at first placed one on the altar and before Dagun came I looted the Oracle who had the second one let's see if anybody will buy it on AH, I'll try 2g50s.

Dagun: It is wise to clear around the altar - when Dagun is injured enough, he will run around for help.

Dugan is a 43 elite, an make sure you kill all the murlocs nearby before summoning him, he comes up fron the water to the SE of the altar.

Follow Infiniterage's post and you'll be fine.

I do feel as though I need to vent.. murlocs..? spent about 2 hrs one day killing them around the altar with no luck, of course it was a quest where i said to myself, i'll finish this quest then go work, so naturally it wont finish just to get me annoyed :P Clearing the island over and over wasnt fun especially with a dranei and human working together. Thankfully am a hunter and could track humanoids to see the murlocs as they spawned before the alliance did xD
Day after that, swam up, first four oracles I met, one dropped it. If that isn't an example of sods law I don't know what is xD Good luck everybody.

It's true that Grel'borg the Miser walks out of the ruined tower, but if you just can't find him, or are impatient, he spawns in the basement of the tower.

I managed to get into the basement, however, I died from aggroing too many mobs on the way in.
(I tried to sneak in, relying on the fact that I was higher level than the ogres. That tactic failed miserably, by the way. If I'd fought my way in, it probably would have been better--slower, but better.)

I rezed in the basement and just had time to regain health and mana when he appeared. I took him out easily enough.

I fought my way out and lived this time. )

Now for the other two......
