Murdaloc

Slay Agmond's killer, Murdaloc.

Slay 12 Stonevault Bonesnappers.

Report to Prospector Ironband in Loch Modan.
  •
Murdaloc slain
  •
Stonevault Bonesnapper slain (12)

Description

Agmond's tracks lead from the west. It is easy to tell from the bloody smears across rock and sand that the dwarf crawled some distance.

And here he died.

Upon close inspection, the word "Murdaloc" is roughly scrawled in a patch of Badlands sandstone.

Scrawled next to Agmond's dead hand.

Murdaloc will spawn at 49,66 in front of the outhouse behind the camp with tents and will walk to 50,67 just a few yards away to the front of the tent that is not torn. He has a 3 to 4 minute respawn timer and he will spend 2 to 3 minutes at each location I provided. The whole area is easy single pulls for a range attacker no matter which location Murdaloc is at. I also found inside the non-torn tent a "Barrel of Sweet Nectar". Just clear the tent area as you make your way to him and you shouldn't have any problems. Completed as a Lv 37 Mage.

I found this to be an easy quest. Prospector
Ironband is in Loch Modan at 66,66 and for anyone now using x,y coords he is inbetween the two huts on the map in the Ironband's Excavation Site. I hope this helps.

Did this as a level 38 shaman. If your patient and clear the area around him, you can solo pull each of the guys around the tent. He will also walk back and forth from the tent to an area just behind a little hill. You can grab him by himself if you have the tent area cleared.

about 20 ft south of where you get the quest, there's a bunch of bonesnappers.&nbsp one of the bonesnappers is hiding in a crevice in the hillside--if you attack him, he's linked with another one, which is murdaloc.

just go south of the bones, the Murdaloc guy is lvl 42 and he wanders around the tents and behind them where there is an outhouse.&nbsp I did it as a 38 rogue, u just have to kill every1 around him (which is easy)&nbsp while he is around the outhouse, then when he comes back u will only be fighting him.&nbsp not too tough

when standing in front of a nest of mobs and needing to kill a specific one, it can be hard to pick him out.&nbsp I found the /target Name command very useful for this quest.&nbsp Go to the camp, get as close as you can and type

/target Murdaloc

if he is in the area, he'll be targeted and you can map your path by picking only those mobs that are in the way.&nbsp

Btw, he aggros a fair bit and you may end up having to kill 2 or 3.&nbsp Just watch out.&nbsp Also watch out for the troop of horde that is circling this small mountain going from camp to camp.&nbsp They got me good once.&nbsp

For the paladins out there who wonders how hard this quest is:
I made it solo, I'm a lvl 37 paladin.
Divine shield and holy light will be usefull.
And Lay on hands if things go very wrong (I didn't use it though).

I did this quest as a lvl 39 warlock, no problem. If you sneek up the ridge from the left side of the camp, you can hop down right on top of him. This was fairly easy, except that the shaman that was with him fled and pulled another mob. After killing them, getting out can be a little tricky, so I suggest throwing caution to the winds and running with a healthstone/potion through the camp and out. :)

Hate to be one of those guys who posts about how easy the quest was but since I've read so many of those I figure it is my turn.&nbsp Quest was a piece of cake for my 40 lock, got jumped by multiple mobs a couple times but just feared 'em and let DoT do it's magic.&nbsp The above coords are correct just to through in some useful information.

This is as you come up to the site from Uldaman:&nbsp I killed the one on the right first, he is at the bottom of the hill, then killed the one on the hill.&nbsp Jumped down and killed the one by the outhouse, when he ran, he agroed another, killed him too by the outhouse.&nbsp Then, throw a dagger to Murdaloc and he agroed one shaman with him.&nbsp To do this, you need to make sure that the are kinda facing away from each other so that you don't agro the other one by the tent.&nbsp Concentrate on killing Murdaloc, he is level 42 and the shaman is only 40, then kill the shaman.&nbsp I didnt need a pot nor anything, it was fairly easy.&nbsp Then just pick on the rest of the bonesplitters 1x1, they are pretty spaced apart and can be done easily.

Not too bad at all.
Solo with 38 Shadow Priest - came from the NE side of the camp and went around. When he walks into that mountain crevis you can kill the shaman troll out by his tent and then just wait for him to walk back out. Respawn not too bad if you hit with higher dmg, I did kill Murdaloc and then had to run away (respawn) and had to go back and get my last 2 Bonesnappers.

As a 39th Dwarven Hunter, soloed this guy...
Since someone else recently cleared the camp,
killing Murdaloc last...

Kept the aggro and had pet kite him, while I
backed away and fired arrows, had a 39 buzzard add, but had mana left, so dealt with it after
Murdaloc went down, healed up pet and prevailed :-)

Too bad there aint no hunter-useable reward for this one...

Still got 3450xp +100 IF faction

This is a fairly easy quest, by the time you clear out the Bonesnappers, you'll only need to clear a couple of Shamans for a clear shot at Murdaloc. I soloed this fairly easily at level 39.

60.7,57.5 about there, moving around very slightly, 1 guy next to him, a few around but they were outside my aggro range, so they didnt bother me. I killed him very easily at level 46, and the other 12 were abit pathetic too.. They are all at Agmonds End. I saw some ogres patrolling around for some reason, level 40-42 if you cant handle about 4 ogres that level, dont walk up to them. The quest is level [46]. Hope this helps.

Soloed this quest with a level 40 rogue after completing "Find Agmond." I believe the easiest way to defeat the Stonevault Bonesnappers and Murdaloc (if you are a lower level character) is too first, climb the trail behind Agmond's body. From the cliffs edge anyone with archery can pick there enemies one at a time...including Murdaloc. He's a level 42 Bonesnapper btw. Expect each of them to run up the cliff... at that point.. just lay the smack down. Enjoy.

Solo'ed this today on my 37 shaman, cleared his camp when he wasn't there and nabbed him when he came back out. Went down suprisingly easily, just make sure there's no adds around if trying this while his level (42) is still red or orange to you.

Very nice exp if you're here at 36/37 or so, shame there isn't that much to do as an ally.
