Description

You must retrieve bindings for the prison of the Doomguard from lesser demons.

I soloed this as a level 70 affliction / demonology warlock without too many trouble. Here's a little guide:

Go to the back entrance of Dire Maul in Feralas. The location is shown on the map Burgermeal posted, and it's pretty hard to miss. Just look for a structure with the same design as Dire Maul and head through the tunnel. When you're there, either open the door with the Crescent Key or Life Tap / Hellfire and revive your spirit at the other side of the door.

When inside the instance, you'll see you skipped the entire elemental area of Dire Maul East and are at the demons you need straight away. Your Voidwalker is the one you'll love in here. First, you see two plants which aren't linked. Just pull them, drain tank a bit and they'll die without too many problems. Time for the real work now.

In the area you'll find a couple of patrols which you'll want to pull first. They're not much stronger than a regular level ~68 mob, so you'll hardly have trouble with them. If you've cleared some patrols, it's time for the packs. Stick your Voidwalker on one Satyr, banish the Betrayer and DoT + drain tank the other Satyr. When your mob is down, kill the mob the Voidwalker is tanking and then kill the Betrayer which should be unbanished by now.

This tactic will allow you to clear most of the area you need and should provide you with sufficient Satyr Bloods to complete the quest. Judging by the comments in this thread, many people seem to think there's also packs of four demons. This, however, is not the case. If you see a group of four demons, you'll see a normal group (of three demons) and a patrol. Just wait a second for the patrol to leave and do the normal routine. It might take a while for the patrol to leave, so don't bother trying four mobs at once (although it's probably possible), just head for another group or a patrol that isn't near a group.

The droprate wasn't that high for me, so I actually had to reset the instance once and kill one or two more packs. It took me around 1,5 hours to complete this quest.

Because I was in the demon area of DM East anyway, I figured it would be nice to try some bosses there, just for laughs. The first boss you'll encounter is Lethtendris who has an imp minion beside her. Just send your Voidwalker in, kill the imp (couple of DoT's and 1 or 2 shadow bolts should do) and then just Health Funnel your Voidwalker. If you have Siphon Life, keep it up to gain some extra health. I haven't tried drain tanking so I have no idea if that's actually possible, I just did it the safe way and do very slow DPS (the Siphon Life and sometimes a bit of wanding). You could also put an (amplified) Curse of Doom up, to speed things up a little without pulling aggro too soon of your Voidwalker. Once Lethtendris is dead, you can go downstairs and use exactly the same tactic on Hydrospawn. Both dropped a green for me, so I didn't actually profit from it, but it was quite fun, I guess...

Anyway, once you're done with this quest, and the Prison's Casing quest, head back to the questgiver in Blasted Land and do the final part.

Good luck!

Enter in DM from back door. Don't touch Elementals. Walkin near to wall right side. Atack first 3 Deamon. Enslave bigest lvl 55(56) Satyr, banish 2 and cast spells on 3. While doing this stay near to wall and wait they to come to you before agro with enslaved deamon. Then atack with enslaved.(Be carefull to not agro and other.., so wait elemetals to go ahead). You can doing solo for 2-3 hours. Doing all the time the same. Enslaved Deamon can be killed easy if had half life or less. Dissmis Banish, take imp, run away from him, stay imp COD, use health poition if you need(or Bandaj), wait 15-20 sec, banish, wait 10-15 to COD Banish.

I finished this quest with chikones' instructions.&nbsp It certainly is soloable but it takes patience and lots of shards for soulstones and healthstones (you'll die alot from adds and respawns) and for enslave demon.&nbsp Honestly, it's quests like these that teach you how to play your class better. Take it as an opportunity to learn how to use all of your different spells, and improve your coordination.&nbsp This quest took me a long time and many deaths to complete but I think it was worth it.

This is pretty easy to solo at 70, even the 4 mans are doable as a 70 Sl/sl lock

The trick to the 4 mans is to stick your void on the rogues, banish the other rogue, and dot the three up(siphon life, coa, corr).

If you do it the other way, you'll find the rogues hit fast and wear you down alot quicker than the tricksters do even with 3 Siphon lifes ticking and draining. Still doable, but geta a bit closer to death.

Other option is to send void in, banish one, enslave another and just dot from there. Also works, but I hate spending shards if i don't have to.

Solo'd as a level 60 'lock via Rear entrance to East DM. Not really that hard if you know how to work your class. Also being a Demonology Spec, Felguard makes it that much easier :)

Pull the plants in the way one at a time (Yes, they move to positions to allow it), when it comes to groups of Satyr. Curse of Doom then Banish the middle one, send your demon after one with a Curse of Agony and Corruption if you have instant. Fear and Immolate/Corrupt/CoA the third.

Good fun, and fairly easy if you're fast enough :)

East Side back entrance both aoe'd the small group of non elite plant thingies (could use these to stock up on shards) and jumped down.

on groups of 4 we enslaved 2 demons and banished one... took em one at a time.. dismissed pet other lock banished summoned imp (so not to waste shards) killed next... repeat.. done :)

You'll have to reset the instance at least once to get em all but tbh you'll probably have one accidental death from agro'd plants or something anyway so not a problem :)

Have fun and GL

I assumed that the door found at the monument-thingy north of camp-whatever was the backdoor to DM East. To get through it without a key I had to kill myself in front of the door and then rez on the other side. I entered DM East and in the first room there is way more than just a couple plants. The room is filled with satyrs that you can't even see until you get up close to them. You can't take down the satyrs because the plants are in the way. Actually, maybe you can land on a spell on them (I didn't get the chance to try). But I would assume that as they run to you they would aggro the plants. There were a bunch of groups of them in that first room and a wandering felguard. Coulda tried to take down the satyrs if it werent for the damn plants.

Didn't have any trouble getting the quests, just turned on demon tracking and rode around everything I could or outran anything else.&nbsp Then wait for closest guy to patrol off before going to talk to guy.

Anyways, went through entire demon side of DM and ended up with 14/15 bloods so depending on your luck you'll probably have to do the whole thing once give or take a few demons.

Good drops though had 5 or 6 blue's drop for group.

you can get to this npc solo quite easily actually. just mount up and ride in, and die _right_ on top of him. Soulstone is nice here, but you can just run back and rez too and have a bit more aim. then just wait there for the moment all the pats are away from him, rez & grab quest, mount up and starting riding like a madman :)

Easily did this with 2 hunters and a tank that were bored. Had to clear till about the satyr boss to get all the blood. I know I could have easily soloed and I'm somewhat disappointed I didn't solo because it sounds like a lot of fun but what do I care? I did it easily in 30 min and got a new necklace.

It would be helpful if people pointed out that the Lariss Pavilion is the back entrance to Dire Maul. You will need your Crescent Key.

In DM, at 60 and watching from the entrance to the hall, I was able to wait for the first plants to patrol into the left corner of the hall near me and slip around them to the right and then to the left of the first group of Satyrs without agro. Once inside, enslave and banish are indeed your friends.

Another trick is Eye of Kilrogg will sometimes set off the warpwood pods.

What back entrance are you people referring to? I've only seen Satyrs in DM East. But to get to them you have to go through too many mobs.

Found it!

The backdoor is EAST of Camp Mojache- quite a ways from DM main entrances. Also a quest here for DM. This backdoor leads to DM East.
Coordinates=
76,37

If you do not have the key to DM. Then you will need to die in DM east and WALK all the way to this back entrance. But hey it works.

Finished the whole quest line finally!

I came back to give a bit more info for this part. I don't know what these people meant about groups of 3 trees. There were no trees from the back entrance. Just the lasher type plants- which were very difficult but could be single pulled.

When you come in the back you'll see 2 lasher type plants. I used my imp mainly just for the stamina boost. Just pull the lashers into the hallway by where you came in- then just fear/dot and bolt them. You will need bandages, these guys are really hard, and healthstone, pot, whatever just to be sure. Do the same for both plants. The first one is the hardest because you have limited space to fight in. The second plant you can fear right through the demons without aggroing them.

Also notice the traps on the ground (warpwood seed pods). They either spawn a gas cloud or a bunch of little lasher plants- that can take you down pretty fast. You can use your eye of kilrog. If the seed pod doesn't explode into a gas cloud- then it is one that spawns the little plants. I used the enslaved mobs to get rid of the traps myself.

Once the plants are done. You'll see 3 demons together. There is also one demon stealthed patrolling between the 2 sets of demons. I waited for him to get as far away from the first set- then enslaved a demon and pulled the group out of the patrols range. Next banish one of the demons attacking your enslaved one. Dot and kill the remaining one. By now your enslaved one is probably almost dead and you can either let the banished one take him out and enslave the one that was banished. Or fear and dot the banished one.

Now that the first group is done. There is another stealthed demon by the second group. Enslave him and pull him away to the area you've cleared. Make it stay- dismiss- fear/dot/bolt it to death. Using him to attack the other group of 3 didn't work well so I just did it like this.

Do the second group like you did the first group. Enslave one, banish the second one, kill, kill.

Anyway using these methods you can get about 5-7 bloods per reset. You can use the enslave method up to the second floor. There is another stealthed demon at the top of the hallway. I just enslaved him brought him downstairs and killed him easily.

Bring lots of shards! You'll need them. I had to stop halfway through to go farm more shards.

This quest was very fun to solo.
