Zukk'ash Carapace (20)

Description

From what scouting we have managed to muster, we believe that the foe south of the gnolls is an insect-like race. Frankly, it is irrelevant whether or not if they're sentient. If they are driving the gnolls to frenzy against us, then they are as big of a threat - if not more - than the gnolls.

Drive deep into where these Zukk'ash insects dwell; it is known as the Writhing Deep. Thin their numbers and report back to me what you find, bringing back their carapaces as evidence of your handiwork.

This quest goes along nicely with Stinglasher (if ur 46+), careful if you head into the 2 hives as Stinglasher patrols between and inside them. While fighting one of the wasps the crafty devil snuk up behind me, being a warlock tho I was victorius (sac'd my voidy). Good drop rate, the nests are about 74,61 .

There are a ton of Zukk'ash Workers and Zukk'ash Wasps at and around (74, 61) they will drop the Zukk'ash Glands pretty regularly.

Coords confirmed. As a lvl 44 hunter I didn't have a problem. drop was 100%. While you're there you should do the Stinglasher quest. He's a lvl 47.. and well, his name is "stinglasher." he drops an item you need for that quest. He came out of nowhere on me. Thank God I had my pet tanking or else he would have worked me.

I'm so glad I did this quest, on my last kill I had an epic two hand sword drop! I think it was Night something blade. It's for lvl 39's.

One word of advice about this quest, I'm not sure if it was only me but the Worker Bugs, whenever they "Ran away in fear" they ran at +60% speed and went through the terrain. I think they are bugged (pun intended)

Did this at level 46 with no problems whatsoever (Apart from mana).

This quest goes alongside Stinglasher nicely, who was very easy to dispact also.

The Withering Deep is south of the encampment - you can't miss it.

Good XP, and a half-decent reward too. 100% drop rate.

The Carapace dropped from every mob I killed. Watch out for the workers when they run though, they are fast. Soloed with a 44 hunter by the way, very easy. Find the mobs at 75,60. Just south of the Gnoll Camps. Advice: Do along with ''Stinglasher'' Given from the same giver. He patrols between the two caves, level 47, flying creature.

Definitely combine this and the Stinglasher quest. I actually found the level 47 Stinglasher to be easier and a lot faster than the more annoying Zukk'ash Infestation quest. I did this as a level 44 Warlock, so perhaps 45 and up won't have the same trouble I had. First off, although both the wasps and the workers give up 100% carapace drop, the workers run and run fast when they're down to just under half health, so freeze them or whatever your race does early to keep them from running (curse of recklessness in the case of warlocks). Since I use a demon (VW) to do my work whenever possible, these critters seemed fairly easy to kill at first until I got attacked by a second one while my demon was busy with the first. If that happens, put the one attacking you away as quickly as you can. Spam it with shadow bolts and immolate if you're a lock--if you're manna based, what happens is that their stings don't seem to hurt a minion or pet nearly as bad as they will hurt you. This critter can drain your health a lot faster than you can drain its health one on one, so forget drain tanking if you're one on one-destroy it as fast as you can or it will destroy you. Another thing I notice, although this may have been a coincidence, is that the wasps at first didn't seem to bother me at all. They don't get agro'ed unless they fly real close to you. After I started piling up carapaces, that seemed to change. Also, if you're weakened, they seem to agro way easier, so take your time if you have to and keep your health up.

It doesnt lead to stinglasher, I did them both at the same time. As for the gnoll quest being a prereq i can confirm that.

A guildmate and I were doing the gnoll quests together. When we turned in the plans, she got this quest and stinglasher. When we completed it, she got another quest to take the report to Orgrimar with the Emerald Peak Spaulders and Ring of Subtlety. I didn't get either quest. Not sure why. Can anyone help?

Location of the mobs are at and around 75 . 62 co-ords on the map.

Solo'd as a level 44 Paladin, very easy quest, Workers tend to run between 15-30% hp so as said in other posts do what you can, Paladins beware Hammer of Wrath is not always available to use if they start to run 20%+ hp. The Wasps are easy to kill and dont tend to run, although they do use poisen stings.

Also do the [47] Stinglasher quest whilst doing this one, you get it from the same NPC. Stinglasher partols from one side to the other and is pretty easy kill, he tends to poisen alot and it stacks, not sure how much tho as i kept using cleanse to get rid of it.

Drops off any Zukk'ash mob (44-46 mobs), and it seems to be a 100% drop rate.

If you see Stinglasher, a wisp patroling around kill it to do Stinglasher
