Description

I have a lead on an even BETTER source of hides, if that's even possible to believe! In the northern parts of Feralas - deep within Rage Scar Hold - are another throng of yetis. They're much tougher than the ones you dealt with before, so if you're up for a bigger challenge you'd best be on your toes!

I would reward you handsomely for a stack of ten of their hides; bring them to me here, and we'll finish our business.

Yet again you do NOT need to be a skinner to complete this quest.

And, again, skinners can complete this a tad earlier from getting the skins as drops.

(Not being a skinner, I managed to get all but skins outside the cave.)

Note: The path to the yeti area is at 51, 33. There are 'two' ways to get there:

1) Go up the northern path from the shore (46, 37) cross the road and go cross country to the yeti area - but having to contend with rather numerous unfriendly critters along the way.

2) Go up the northern path from the shore, travel north on the road until your are approximately even with the yeti area and jump down from the road.

In case anyone wondered where the correct cave is... It's Rage Scar Vale which is between Dire Maul and the Twin Colossals. It's South East of the word Twin Colossals on the map.&nbsp The quest isn't bugged but the drop rate isn't that great so it can take awhile to get enough of the hides. The drop rate seemed to improve as I progessed and seemed to be higher in the cave itself.

Just went through the hold, killing everything within (30+?), and not one hide. Neither from looting nor from skinning. Drop rates have certainly changed based on what you're all saying.

Its a good thing that the cave complex is fairly large. I killed every yeti in the caves *twice* and still didn't have enough hides.

Along the way you're bound to get the drop that starts the Pristine Yeti Hide quest, too, though they nerfed the reward for it, so its not really exciting anymore.

51,31 kill any kind of * rage scar (yeti).
killed them on my way into cave.
low drop rate.
good easy grind.
2 of the items glitched and would not go into my backpack, so i left them on the dead body.
one of the hides starts a new quest.
they were level 48 275xp each.
the quest log was yellow.

For me the drop rate was 1/10. So nice XP. There are plenty outsite the cave, and they spawn quick, so you do not need to enter cave. Please note: There is a path that leads to the yeti area. The path stats at 51,32. For those, who do not have cords, you will follow the road from the coast. You have to jump down from the road, when it makes a little "break" at a very huge tree. Just go straight forward and you will end up at the path. There should be laying some bones, meat and stuff there. Good luck!

The yeti's at the cave respawn pretty quickly, so you best be prepared at all times to face yet another one. They are mostly level 46+ as well, so you may not want to get more than one on you at a time, unless you're a good crowd control class.

This quest was pretty easy, and drop rate of hide's was even better then with the other quest..

I did it under 20 minutes as a Troll Mage lvl 44 and skinner ^^

PS: The entrance to the cave is not at the "ground level" you need to walk up a hill to reach it.

The cave is at 51, 32; dont - as I did - spend time in the southern cave (Feral Scar), as the paths start approx. at the same spot...

I grinded these guys forever to get the drops.&nbsp Took atleast 30 minutes, but hey it was a constant grind as I was a 53 shadow priest.&nbsp Every kind of yeti dropped a hide, including those in the cave, but I did notice the mob's named, "Rage Scar Yeti" seemed to have more frequent drops.&nbsp The ramp up to Rage Scar Hold can be found at 51,32.&nbsp Let a hollowed out tree stump be your landmark if you head east from the main road.&nbsp You may even want to get frisky in the stump with someone special.&nbsp I also recommend doing this quest if you have to visit Gregan Brewspewer (ST quest for alliance) and doing The Stave of Equinex at the same time.

Coords 53.32 in feralas are correct. Just kill everything in the cave and you'll get your drops.

did this with my 55 mage and had my 36 hunter there to skin. killed em all out at the bottom of the path by kiting so hunter could log on and skin. got needed hides easy with mage but never got one from skinning. only time i entered the cave was in spirit form just to look. 51,31 are the coords.&nbsp gl hf&nbsp :)

The drop rate was only ok, 1/4.&nbsp Very easily to do as a 46 feral druid.&nbsp I was in cat form the whole time execpt when I needed to heal myself.

I'm not sure if they changed the drop rate, but I killed only 10 Yetis for my 10 Drops. I was initially was in the wrong cave further to the South...and one dropped, which was misleading. The cave you need is at 53, 34.6.

There was a troll killing them when I got there - more than 2/3 of mine came from skinning his corpses.&nbsp :)

If you haven't been there before - if you're going north on the road, turn right off the road before the twin colossals (and opposite a path to yr left heading down to the shore).

Eventually you'll get a pristine hide which starts a quest to take it to the guy in Feathermoon.

Ive been in the Yeti cave at coords 50.58 [thats inside] for over 20 minutes and not a single Raged Scar Yeti Hide drop yet... am I just simply unlucky?&nbsp Or am I in the wrong spot?

my rage scar hides dropped about every other kill. No problem for a level 48 paladin solo. the pristine hide is a drop from one of your kills. click on it in your bag and it will give you another quest which is just to bring it back to Feathermoon Hold. the pristine hide actually dropped several times but you can only carry one. Took about 15 minutes to finish this quest.

Solo as a 45 rogue with skinning. Only took about 14 kills. Just be aware of aggro because even if you sprint away you're going to run into 48-50 lvl beasts near the Hold.

Drop rate was quite good and gained 6300 exp at lvl 51. Definately worth the time.
