Vyral the Vile

Bring Vyral's Signet Ring to Huum Wildmane in Cenarion Hold.
Vyral's Signet Ring

Description

We have discovered another base of operations for the Twilight's Hammer. It is called Twilight's Run; it is a cave tucked in the northeast corner of Silithus. The local leader of the cult, Vyral the Vile, haunts that cave - it is he who you must next defeat. When you have done this, bring me his signet ring.

Fortune to you, <name>. The horrors of Twilight's Run are formidable indeed.

Every quest on thottbot has lots of people talking about "How I did this as <class>."&nbsp That's great.&nbsp I think it's helpful in situations where the solution isn't obvious.&nbsp Other helpful comments are "bring FR gear" or "the respawns come fast" or "drop down to avoid having to clear the whole place".

That being said, this quest is essentially single pulls of mobs at a time (yeah, sure, fast respawn), followed by a two mob fight at the end (since one of the guards can be pulled without aggroing).

I find it really, really sad that there are so many people saying for this quest, "How do I do this as a Hunter/Mage/Rogue/Druid/Whatever?"

At this point, you're probably level 60, or very, very close.&nbsp The way to the boss has single mobs.&nbsp Sure, they run, but so what?&nbsp You've never seen that before now?&nbsp Second, if you don't know how to handle more than one mob with your class by the time you're level 20 (or so depending on when you get your CC abilities), you need to spend less time reading thottbot posts and more time practicing taking on multiple mobs.

"How do I take this guy on as a hunter?"

Let's see, he's a non-elite mob, with one (maybe two) guard that you have to fight.&nbsp How about you drop a freezing trap, have pet tank while you kill the boss, then kill the other one.&nbsp If things get out of hand, kill one and feign.&nbsp

"How do I do this as a rogue?"

Uh, same thing as above.&nbsp Sap one, kill the other one, then kill the sapped guy, or just loot the boss and vanish.&nbsp Hell, vanish if things get out of hand, bandage up, and then go do the same thing!

"How do I do this as a mage?"

Sheep one, kill, same as always.

For the love of God, people, if you don't know a strategy for dealing with 1, 2, 3 mobs solo by this point, especially ones that aren't immune to crowd control, I don't know how you even were able to make it to Silithus to begin with.

EDIT: Just saw in the quest description that it's obtained at level 60, so you do actually have to be level 60 to do this, making it even more sad if you need help.

This quest is easily soloable at 60. The mobs in the cave are single pulls, with the exception of Vyral himself (inevitable double pull). When entering the cave, you can jump off the ledge to your right if you're feeling adventurous (mobs below) or clear your way forward and take the right fork. The mobs are casters, one type with frostbolt/frost nova/chain lightning spells and one type that is melee with an instant cast immolate and a fire damage aura/shield.

You'll want a group. The mobs here aren't that tough, but there are a lot of them and they respawn quickly. Just enter the cave and fight your way to the back. He's on a platform that will be on your right once you get into the cave a ways. He dies fast to a 5-man, so the only challenge is the respawn rate on the Twilight mobs.

If you can't use either reward, the necklace has a higher vendor price than the gloves.

Did this solo with a 60 restoration spec druid.&nbsp It is very possible to stealth through the cave!&nbsp Just stay clear of the Flamereavers in the passages and you'll be fine.&nbsp They do have a fire shield and a nasty immolate which hit for ~220 damage every 3 seconds.&nbsp In the last room with Vyral, you can definitely pull the guard way off to the left without aggroing him or the other guard, then just take the other two down.&nbsp Vyral is non-elite, but does have a Shadow Shock spell which hit me for around 550, so watch your health.&nbsp Reward is a half decent necklace for my feral gear set. :)

60 War, soloed it.

Died a few times trying to get inside, but that's because I didn't know the area. Could have just jumped off the ledge instead of going down the ramp area.

Got to Vyral's area, accidently aggroed him...almost bailed out, but I started to kill Vyral, he went down pretty easy. I had aggroed one of his Overlord's when I accidently pulled him, so I feared him and managed to kill Vyral, loot the item, and bail....getting out was another story full of deaths :D

1 get dude on left
2 sheep the right as was said
3 fight boss guy
4 hearth out
Your going to be damaged if you had a newbie moment and forgot to make a major health and mana pot for when the sheep wears off.... lol

If a lvl 60 mage can do it so can others..

60 Arms Warrior, mix of green/blue/purple items. (Sunscale Helmet, lawl.) Died twice- first fighting two Flamereavers, second when I accidentally pulled the second Overlord guarding Vyral just after killing the first one. Aside from that I had little trouble.

You're going to need one of three things to make it through here- high damage output (to kill the Flamereavers before their flame aura decimates your HP, as well as to avoid the quick respawns), fire-resistance gear (to negate the fire damage) or dependable healing. If you're not capable of killing one of the Flamereavers inside of twenty seconds, you're probably going to run into trouble with respawns.

By the way, I killed Vyral and got his signet before the second Overlord finished me off. Vyral himself is a pushover if you focus on him.

I couldn't do this as a 60 Hunter. They respawn too quickly.

And that's what killed me over and over.
And I could not find ANY help... I hate Silithus.

I hate ANY zone where people refuse to help you.

Basically, it went like this
I took them out 1 by 1. Took out the pats. Then when it came to the blue room(has blue on the floor), I take out the pat there, then get ready to attack this Tauren at the end of the hall, when this (censored) pat respawns and shows up behind me.
So we gotta deal with her, and the other 1.
IF she did not show up, I would of soloed this quest.
We manage to kill her, but my health is critically low, and I got that dang 2 minute cooldown on Healing Pots, and the Tauren BBQ'ed me to death...

And when I get back to my corpse, guess what. They ALL have (censored) respawned!
And then it all went downhill... with them running everywhere and arrgoing others and... well. Lets just say I got ticked at the level of UNhelpfulness in the zone.

The high respawn time (and I do mean HIGH. Like 1-2 minutes), and the fact EVERY 1 of them has an AoE(that cannot be taken away with a few Viper Stings because they don't have Mana. Except for the Mages), is what crippled this quest.

If you can solo this, you are GOOD(or know how to play your class or luck out).

Cave is at 67,15 . Go in keep right follow till end.

Just soloed this with a new lvl 60 Druid. Had health pot on hand.

Stealth to cave. wait for wandering guard to leave.

Uncloak buff, invert, Moonkin, attack the main mob (Vyral). Health pot loot and then die with loot :).

2nd try. took about 15 minutes.

I was wondering if anyone has any information on what this does?Maybe a spawn or something if click em all or perhaps just a horde quest?&nbsp please reply

While this can be soloed by a rogue without much problem (I can't speak for other classes), one thing that you do need to watch for is a patrol consisting of one annoying little gnome.&nbsp His path takes him all the way up to the boss' room, so either kill him first when no one is around him, or time it so that you can kill the guard, then sap the other guard and kill the boss, before teh patrol gets back.&nbsp Also, I was able to kill the first guard (HE/SHE WILL RUN - so use crip or save a kidney shot, or something...cause he will aggro the boss and other guard) wait for the patrol, then sap and kill the boss.&nbsp There is not much time before the respawn but there is enough for that at least.

Level 60 Resto druid wearing mostly blue with some green feral gear. Died first as I went to the side to avoid a pat and he pathed to me. Flameweavers seem to walk at about twice normal mob walk pace.

Found a place I could safely rez and refuel as long as I waited for pats to pass by. Wasnt to the boss yet, so decided to fight my way to him. When they run, they run mucho fast, I was not able to hit bash fast enough to stun them before they ran out of range, so ended up Moonfire spamming... they would run to alert mobs before I could click MF twice, so I ended up with adds. Would end up fighting 3 at once, and runners would almost alwasy get away and bring one more.

Then with the respawn rate... I have done a lot of cool solos in my time, Smolderweb, Devilsaurs (with adds at times), and many others. This quest, with fast runners, fast respawn and magic damage that ignores armor, was a little more of a challenge than I wanted for a crap agi neck that I would have vendored.

Maybe I am not leet enough or not patient enough, but this quest sucked for me.

This is one of those quests where people get impatient and die.

I've not played every class, but as a 60 mage this was very simple..kill the mobs, one by one (watch out for pats), til the end of the cave. Sheep the main guys add, take down the main guy - loot him, take adds. They do respawn fast but nothing a bit of sheeping / blinking / frost nova'ing and mana shielding cant deal with&nbsp :)

If you are soloing this, then you are more than likely going to get into trouble when they run away at 10-15%. They do the following:

- Immolate for around 120-200 fire damage
- Fire shield for 12 damage

Also there are the frost mages too. I tried with 140 fire resistance (unbuffed) and it was near on impossible, with mostly tier1 gear.

So my tip: fight your way into the cave, as soon as you get to the ledge on the right, jump down get as near to Vyral as possible (he's up on the right when you jump down, not at the end of the tunnel). Then just die. Save yourself the pain and repair costs of more wipes.

Then ressurect near Vyral, with only one patrolling guard it's straight forward.

I dunno about some comments I read saying this was hard for a hunter. This was peanuts. Typical hunter solo survivability straight out of the "be a sexeh huntah"-guidebook.

Outside and first end of cave? Just kill them. At the ledge you could keep walking and clearing everything (like hunters do so well) or take the shortcut and jump down. -DO- mind that the patrol is not there and that you dismiss your pet (but you knew that right).. After landing, run up the slope and feign right in the corner so you'll be out of aggro range from Boss and from spawn halfway slope. Wait for pat to pass and go.. kill guy on slope.. wait for pat to come back, kill pat.

Then just unload on the boss, dont bother with any tricks, he goes down fast. After that do whatever you want with his guards, could also just feign and heal up.

so i might've f'ed up a little and pulled everyone at Vyral, plus an add i didn't see behind me. turned out not to be so bad for a feral druid. just take them down one by one and make with the frenzied regen when you're in trouble. heal and innervate when you need to.

I didn't do so well trying to stealth through, but why not kill your way in? They drop texts and armors pretty frequently.

350 rep i might add, I did this quest for rep, so i feel that is a little important.

Well, maybe I was just lucky, but as a solo hunter with a tank pet (with a bit of fire resistance), this was a walk in the park! and I virtually have NO blue gear. It definitely wasnt quick, but it was not hard either
As far as I can see, there's 2 golden rules. Firstly, always make sure you have enough mana to fire off a concussive shot at the end of a fight, or get your pet to intimidate, or the mobs do run around and aggro other mobs.
Secondly, ALWAYS pull mobs and fight them AWAY from their normal position. this means that if things go bad, you can always feign death, they run back to wherer they came from, you can get up, dust yourself off, apply bandages, get your mana back up and try again!
As for Vyral, you CAN pull one of his guards without aggroing him, and you should be able to take him and the last guard down easily with a good tank pet.

Soling Vyral the Vile was no problem as a level 60 Warlock in mostly blues / few epics.

Just watch out for the adds he brings. If you are careful you can pull him and only bring one add.

The real pain is reaching him, he is easily defeated once you get there.
