Bring 1 Large Brilliant Shard and 3 Abyssal Crests to Aurel Goldleaf in Cenarion Hold.

Description

We think it is possible to use a wind stone to ambush a duke of the Abyssal Council. To do this, however, one must commune through the wind stone, and convince the council you are a middle ranked leader of the Twilight's Hammer.

Such a gambit requires a replica of the cult's medallion of station. I can create the medallion, but I will need a large brilliant shard, and crests worn by the Abyssal Templar.

Bring these to me and I will do the rest.

You need to get the Twilight Cultist Cowl, the Twilight Cultist Mantle and the Twilight Cultist Robe first by killing any mob around (I think). Then wear them and go to a lesser wind stone placed at [38,42] and [38,46]. Then some Templar will spawn and when you kill it you get the Abyssal Crest.

a 62 elite elemental (random type, do a search for "The Duke of" for them) spawns. they take 5-9 people to handle them effectively, the earth and water ones are significantly easier to handle than the fire and air.

they drop signet rings just like the 60 elites drop crests. The Greater Wind Stones need this amulet *and* a Twilight Cultist Ring of Lordship... which I'm assuming you use the signet rings to get. I'm honored right now so that quest is probably at revered.

The ring of lordship drops off of a rare mob around the cultist sites... I think I got mine in the southern camps.

I just soloed one of the Fire ones. Root and Bug them to death. Low dmg is the key dont break the root. They arent that tough :-)

I was able to just buy the crests at the Auction House for 2 gold and 75 silver each.

I was also able to buy the shard, but I forget the price.

the windstones have a respawn timer of like 5 minutes, and yes this and the set, as well as the ring you need to do a twilight lord are destroyed upon use. the rare mob that was mentioned sometimes drops the ring of lordship, so that you might be able to do a lord before you have revered reputation. however they are given to you in a quest just like this from the same NPC that gives you this quest. Bring her 5 large brilliant shards and 4 abyssal signets and she'll craft a ring.
