Description

Your honor has brought some peace to me. It is only right that I offer you something in return.

My weapons and armor were splendid in life, and yet they are of no use to me now. They would be better served in your possession.

Travel to the sunken temple and destroy the troll guardians Gasher, Mijan, Zolo, Hukku, Zul'lor, and Loro. They carry magic feathers that can reform my physical body long enough to grant you a reward.

The Diamond Flask seems to be the way to go, since the two other rewards are replaceable. And even though the Flask has a long cooldown, the duration of it still makes you able to keep the effect up for 10% of the time, which is about the average for such trinkets.

Edit:
I have to add that as a DW fury warrior hit rating is very hard to get at this level, so if you DW by all means go for the shoulders or helm.

The Fury Vison is good for lelvel 50 but easily replaced by Lionheart and is not good at all for protection warriors due to lack of stamina.&nbsp

The Razorsteel Shoulders are fairly well rounded and the +1% to hit is certainly nice, but by the time you've been 60 for a while they will be eventually replaced.&nbsp

The trinket however, is nearly irreplacable.&nbsp The only upgrade is the Earthstike epic trinket which requires Exalted rep with the Cenarion Circle, but even the Earthstike only lasts 20 seconds.&nbsp For fury warriors you want all the AP you can get.&nbsp Yes, get crusader (that's 100 strength = 200 AP).&nbsp I am fury, with Deathbringer and Core Hound Tooth, both with crusader. That's 400 AP when they both proc at the same time, which is fairly often.&nbsp Plus the 150 AP from this trinket for a minute?&nbsp No question, if you are thinking long term, go for the trinket.

The 6 trolls you need to kill are the undead ones that are keeping the barrier to Jammal'an.

The best way to get to these 6 guys is to take the stairs up (once u enter the instance) or the path to the right.
(NOT the spiral stairs)

I play a Level 60 Warrior, and of these rewards, only the Flask is going to be of use to me.

Those of you considering the Plate, that's fine, it Is decent Plate, but you'll find better in the long run.

The Flask is really quite handy though, +75 STR and Health Regen For 1 Minute in 6. You can use that for quite some time.

You get 400 ap buff (stacks with your own shout and diamond flask!) when you complete the quest for 15 min.
I suggest that you kill mobs in blasted land for 15 min, get some good XP!

In response to many of the previous posters:

1: If you are lvl 60 and doing this quest, it's a little late. Of course the rewards aren't that great for you, it's a low 50's quest taking place in ST.

2: In my opinion, take the trinket. It is the only item that is essentially unreplaceable. You will get a better helm and better shoulders, but a free 75 str every 6 mins is something that will last a while. Remember that the health regen may be junk, but what you're really going for here is the 75 str, or 150 AP, which is a decent increase.

3: Most classes have a lvl 50 quest involving ST, many of which are exactly the same goal: kill the trolls. So it shouldn't be hard for you to find a grp to accomplish this as early as you can.

While both the helm and the shoulders are decent, both will be upgraded pretty soon.

The trinket will last you until endgame, and is very useful. IT has a 6 minute cooldown, though, be aware.

The healing is ok, it's the +150 attack power that make this trinket really shine! AND IT LASTS AN ENTIRE MINUTE..

Everyone claiming that the trinket sucks must be on drugs... the flask is way better than the plate.

To compare the crit%: On my 53 warrior, 1% crit increase is approx 1.5% increase in damage (and therefore also DPS). However +75 strength gives an 11% increase in damage. Who cares if you only can use it 1/6 of the time - just activate it in important duels, or when you need the extra boost. Not only is it a clear choice over the plate - it would also be a clear choice towards Blackhands Breath giving +2% crit

was it by chance Blessing of Might which adds AP to the target for exactly 15 minutes?

btw, i have a 60 preBC prot warrior i took the trinket
currently lvling another warrior, fury this time, still taking trinket.

The trolls are inside instance.....
just inseide door there are 4 corridors off of the main room....one on each side and two in front of you. You want the LEFT ON THAT IS IN FRONT OF YOU. go up stairs, watching for pats...there you get to a corridor that makes a complete circle, look around each pull, and make sure you didnt miss a corridor leading to a troll boss. When you kill one troll boss you can look around the big room they are in and see if any are left, when completed...A. there will be red text stating the barrier is down B. your quest will be done.

ST sucks get the quest to this point before you run it, and never run it again.

The trinket is the only thing thats worth getting from this quest (unless you want vendor loot). The downside to the trinket is the 6 min cooldown, its not that long of a cooldown but because its just long enough to cause problems often people will not use the trinket until they have to. Its nice in groups when you need a little extra for healing or when you want a crusader in a can :) !

However once you get into outland there are quests that give trinkents that boost your attack power which have 1 min 30 sec cooldowns on them and they have +hit or +crit on them. there far more useful and they get used more, however the flash is nice up to the point where your get these outland trinkets

I'm at a loss at what to take here. I have an Icemetal Barb for my head already and Big Bad Palds on my shoulders. The trinket seems like the way to go for me but the helm has the plus to hit and crit which is nice.

Take, whatever you feel you need most out of these three rewards. In fact (and that's stated several times in the statements above) all of the items will be replaced at some point of the game, so it actually doesn't matter wich one you take. Just make your own choice.

Go with the trinket.

I play a lv54 Fury Warrior. I would take the flask since my trinket stash is weak (Uthar's Strength & Argent Dawn Commision). At lv53, I already had a better helm and shoulders. What this really boils down to is this: If the item improves your gear, get it.

Pick whichever is the largest upgrade to your current equipment.

Post 60 you will get several use-for-AP trinkets with far better passive stats. All three of these get replaced, and fast. As a fury warrior, I chose the helm because plate DPS helms are hard to come by if you're leveling to 70.

Only agonize over your choice from this quest if you plan on pausing in the coast to 60 and far better gear. It'll be fast, given that you have five or six places to quest from 50-56 with far more quests than you could complete without greening them.

Since it seems everyone else in this thread has been rightly snubbed for being jerks about it, I'm going to try to be a bit more polite. :)

So, are the trolls pretty easy to find? Are they elites pretty much anyone would come across going into the temple, or are any of them in hidden nooks and crannies? Any help would be appreciated.

Haven't gone into the temple myself yet. I'm waiting to complete the shadowsworn part of the chain. I hear temple can be pretty tough, so I'd rather get this quest out of the way my first time in.

There are better alternaties for the helm and shoulders. Alternatives that are easily attainable.

The trinket though is irreplacable. 75 str = 150AP which i basicially another battleshout. It stackes with crusader and battleshout and the untaimed blade proc.

If you want a helm go lionheart.

If you want shoulders get the arathi basin revered reward.

If you want to not look like a noob, get the trinket. You can use it, swap it out put on BHB and then swap it back in when the cooldown is up. The 150 AP > all, the healing is just iceing on the cake.

...Diamond flask is best. Shoulders & Helm will get outdated much sooner than the trinket, but good trinkets are semi-hard to come by, depending on wrether you are a casual or a raid person.

Same as with my paladin's ST quest: To take the sword or the ring with all needed stats & +healing... I took the ring and it served me for months (read: until I joined raiding guild) where as I found better weapon in few weeks.

I dont know wwther to get the helm or the trinket since im still using icemetal barbute and i dont want to spend the money for lionheart helm because i already farmed the gm pvp helm. As far as trinkets go i have the stormwind warrior class trinket and the old lvl 28 ab trinket doing so simple math i figured out that if i stay alive for the full 60s that it will restore 135hp which is about half of the ab trinket but the insane amount ap gained is great. I dont need the spaulders since i have bigbad pals which i plan to use until i get my gm pals so both the helm and the trinket are good choices for me. But maybe the trinket would be better since it provides a much longer term solution. But i already have helm of the mt from mara which is a decent solution despite the lack of specs.

You will never replace this trinket at it is the best steady dps trinket you will come over...

Earthstrike = 240ap for 20 sec
Diamond Flask = 150 ap for 60 sec.

150*3=450 ap which is superior to 240 ap for 20 sec
This might be abit misleading, since you do not get 450 ap, but the effect of diamond flask would be the same as a trinket that gives you 450ap for 20 sec, like earthstrike gives you 240 over the same amount of time. 20 sec.

So over time, you will do more damage with Diamond Flask.

Great for dps warriors in raids, and together with earthstrike, you will be able to @#$% the people up bigtime...

This is actually interesting... If you combine this, with a few other things such as the Tattered Hakkari Cape, Bloodthirst, that Regen on Being Critted ability from Fury (forget its name), and the Troll's natural regen, you can actually be one hell of a Regen Warrior. XD Oops, I better be quiet or Warriors will start hunting down Spirit gear.

Amazing people still feel the need to scrap over this stuff :)

Personally, as a fury warrior just dinged 50, I'm going for the shoulders. Nice broad stats, bit of crit, and best of all, that ever precious +hit. Lionheart soon enough (main's already got all the bits), and I can't be bothered with activation trinkets (too lazy).

All 3 of the rewards are decent, it's just a case of what ruids your playstyle. Stop kicking up over other peoples' choices.

I'm too lazy to farm farking Arcane Crystals, being a Disc/Holy Priest, having a warrior on his way to 60.. So I bought all the stuff for a LH Helm.. Got it made, logged in today, started (tried) to do the first part of the chain.. Only to get spammed by guildies that the quest reward is almost equal to LH, just about the same time as I removed it from the mailbox..
I hate Blizzard.. Thanks for making me waste 300G worth of mats..(3x6G Thorium stacks, had one myself. 12x20G ArcCrystals, free transmutes)
GG, NOT!
At least the shoulders will be some small consolation.. And to mister "SundaysRegime", I'm not wearing Large Brilliant Shards.. Nor does Large Brilliant Shards have +1% Hit.
I don't want another activation trinket.. I have enough of those as it is, being a Gnomish Engineer..
[Edit: Old sig]
[Edit2: Making a fool out of myself, doing maths in the middle of the night. Cost =/= 600G+, but rather ~300G..]

As it was my first char i did this quest with, i thought whoa +crit and str on helm. Great ill take it...

Its a great helm, and the shoulders are great too. Will probably use them til lvl 60.

But once you start raiding, you will soon DE/Vendor them because of a lot of better replacements.

Anyway

The trinket tho, is Great.

+75str in 60 seconds? thats +150atkpwr for 1minute. Woah. Think about the aggro boost you will get whilst tanking a hard boss. Or the nice crits you get on those irritating rogues in PVP.

Not to mention the health regen.

Dunno what cooldown it has tho, but its still great even tho it had 30min.

This trinket wont be replaced for a loong time after you start going endgame. So if you plan for the future, take trinket.

If you wanna have a good time soloing, go for helm/shoulders.

If someone say it sucks, hell crusader sucks too.

The major difference between flask and maelstorm/etc. is that the diamond flask gives you 150 ap _on demand_. It is not random! Very simple: you need it - you get it.

For example, if I am going to fight a mage, demonist, or shadow priest, I equip blackhands breath, diamond flask, and hope that my crusader enchant will proc.

(I play gnome, so I have escape artist for free.)

I have no opinions about which reward to take. I will say that, in an evolving game, today's supergear will be tomorrow's vendor trash. After all, there's now a whole world of 60-70 level gear and I suspect that whatever you get from this level 52 quest will be retired at some point.

That having been said, this is not something to solo. There are level 52 Elite Dragonkin on the balcony where I understand the trolls hang out. I understand rather than can confirm because they either chase me or kill me every time. Guarding the top of the stairs are three Nightmare Whelps (level 49 and 50 Dragonkin), one Nightmare Scalebane (level 51 Elite Dragonkin) and a Nightmare Wyrmkin (level 49 Elite Dragonkin).

When you enter the instance, turning to your right takes you into a basement with some Deep Lurkers: Swamp Thing model Elementals. Despite being level 49 Elites, they're pretty easy to take out... unless those "neutral" Slime Maggots join in. Even with Retaliation they did me in.

Straight ahead of you are perhaps the easiest groups, two level 49 Elite trolls, one caster (Atal'al Witch Doctor)and one fighter (Unliving Atal'al). I managed to take these on as a level 54 Arms Warrior with decent but not excessive armaments and various crystals from Un'Goro. Unfortunately, at the top of the stairs (often wandering down them) are three opponents of various types and their pets. I shot one, not seeing the others. They got me literally inches away from the exit to the instance.

So, maybe I can swap favors for someone and get some help maybe I'll figure out what potions to have my Alchemist make up to breeze through. But I am not doing this (or the similar Jammal'an the Prophet) alone.
