Provided Item:
Brazier of Beckoning

Description

Now we have what we need, so it's time to discuss who it is that you'll be summoning.

Kormok was ok for an ogre, right up until he turned to necromancy. After that, things got creepy for just about everyone in the outfit. It was no surprise then when he took his piece of the amulet and returned to his new home, Scholomance.

But even there, or perhaps especially there, he was not safe from the spectral assassins. They slew him right in front of his master, Ras Frostwhisper.

Clear the room and just use the brazier anywhere in the room, but buff up first. I tanked this as a prot paladin. Like most are saying, just nuke him into oblivion. You're on the downhill slope of the chain!

We got him down after about 4 wipes. He's pretty tough. You have to dispell the aura that he has, he spawns undead adds. Take him down as fast as possible. Mage should freeze the adds only and do DPS on boss, not the adds.

Luckily the location is fairly easy accessible after a complete wipe so you are 100% up after 4 minutes or so even if you did not have Soul Stone or Divine Intervention or whatever else. Just walk into the instance and jump to the right and walk to the room, Kormok will be anxiously awaiting you there (you don't need to summon again).

Did it in a party of 1 priest, 2 paladins and 2 mages.

Got him to half today with a very strong team.
Think you can do this easy by using 2-3 mages taking turns in freezing mobs (no use to kill them as he only spam more) warrior and healer - try it tomorrow

Did this boss on couple tries pretty simple with:

-priest
-shaman
-rogue(me)
-warrior
-mage

All 60's ofc :) this is the tactic... Warrior attacks takes 3sunders after that all DPS what u got use it! (priest does dmg too) ignore adds for WHOLE fight till end. Shaman spam purge always when this ogre uses he's bone shield cuz if u wont do that every time u hit him he absorbs most of the dmg + deal u 100dmg every hit (atleast with melee). This ogre is having ~40-60k hp so pretty simple with dps group IF u wont take ogre's bone shield off u can count on +150k hp. This fight should take under 1min with good group. And btw... it doesnt matter who got adds on himself cuz if u do it by this tactic agro will change very very quickly ofc shaman will have agro most of the time with priest but gladly blizzard gave us ankh! just use it during the fight... u may wipe at adds after ogre is down but it doesnt matter just corpse run back and loot boss :)

Easy.

I came to a conclusion that this boss is impossible to kill. We had full NW set mage, epic geared rogue, me(shaman with 6/8 five thunders), epic geared priest and fury warrior. The best we got was 13% health left on the ogre.... And this is supposed to be a tier 0.5 quest? my ass this is not doable without full tier 2 group.

Did this yesterday with an average group, me (60 holy paladin), 2 warriors (one with full valor and the other with mostly greens and blues), an epicd mage, and a priest with okay gear. The key is to kill the ogre fast. Have the off tank take on the adds to keep them away from the casters and have the mage freeze the spawns as much as possible. The ogre does not have a ton of HP or armor so will drop fast. We killed him but wiped in the process. That was okay though because we just ran back after and looted! Maybe I was lucky, but he is doable. I would rather have a rogue than 2 warriors btw. Good luck!

The battle is hard... got him down with 1 might set warrior, 1 valor warrior, me(resto shaman), holy priest with transcendence and blue item mage. It's true that all you need is dps, like very very mad dps :D

Just did him tonight...

He was DAMN hard.. the key is to have one warrior tank him, one dpsclass on him, and mage/furywarrior on the adds

this way, we got him down without getting wiped.

We managed to get him after a few tries.
1 Paladin
1 Warrior
1 Priest
1 Mage
1 Druid

Mostly all dps on the boss, druid and pally try to heal yourself and others. The priest did holy nova basically the whole time with a rejuv and mana pot. Mage did ranged dmg on the boss. The warrior did what warriors do best and got beat on by the guy. The priest doing holy nova does a few good things, helps kill the adds without aggro, heals the party, and damages the boss. Dispelling bone sheild worked sometimes.

Wasn't a hard fight but then we had a pretty good guild group. :) Concentrated all attacks on the boss, then killed the adds, because otherwise they'd just keep spawning. Got him down on first try without deaths. But this upgrade chain is a killer!
