Find Apothecary Staffron Lerent in the Hillsbrad Foothills past Ravenholdt Manor.

Description

Look, the actions of a rogue apothecary are not my concern. If he's undermining our efforts, then let me be the first to point you in the right direction

If he's innocent, then he's got nothing to hide, right?

I purchased the goods from Apothecary Staffron Lerent. He's working in a secluded area past Ravenholdt Manor in the hills over Hillsbrad. To be honest with you, I thought he was a little odd.

Follow the river north until you come to a fallen tree.&nbsp The tree is mostly in the water. Turn to the right (East) and go up "valley" between to hills. On your left you will see a very samll path that will zig zag up. Take it up to the tunnel.&nbsp

Once out of the tunnel you go follow path towards mansion, then take a RIGHT past the mini arena/field. Follow the path, and take a LEFT where it appears to be a drop.&nbsp Keep following it LEFT.

Then you will see him at the end of the path, and a mini pond.

To Find Apothecary Staffron Lerent for Alliance from Southshore:
Follow the river north until you come to a fallen tree (68,32). The tree is mostly in the water. Turn to the right (East) and go up the "valley" between to hills (slightly to the northeast of the tree). On your left you will see a very small path (72,23) that will zig zag up. Take it up to the tunnel (77,19).

Once out of the tunnel you go follow path towards mansion, then take a RIGHT past the garden and mini-archery arena. Follow the path, and take a LEFT where there appears to be a drop (84,25). Keep following it LEFT.

Then you will see him at the end of the path (89,74), and a mini pond.

Go to the back of the church in Tarren Mill.&nbsp Head east across the river.&nbsp There is an entrance to a zig-zaggy path at 75,24.&nbsp For those without coordinate system, the&nbsp entrance to the path is located behind the plateau that is directly east of Tarren Mill.&nbsp Follow the zig-zaggy path up until you see a tunnel.&nbsp

There will be 2 Ravenholdt guards in front of it.&nbsp Go through the tunnel and you will see Ravenholdt Manor in front of you.&nbsp Go to the right of the manor and you will see a little roped off fighting area.&nbsp Go behind and to the right of the fighting area and there is a path.&nbsp Follow that path, and where it appears to drop off the mountain, hook a sharp left and continue on the path.&nbsp At this point you enter Alterac Mountains.&nbsp

At the end of the path (89,75) you will see a cauldron, a tiny pond, and the Apothecary.&nbsp Talk to the Apothecary and then click on the cauldron for your garment.

If you pay attention after completing the quest, and don't just run off, Staffron has a conversation with his "lost love" - his wife arrives in ghost form, and cannot be targeted, though she does emote if you click on her.

Conversation:
Annalise Lerent says: Staffron...
Apothecary Staffron Lerent says: Annalise? Is that you?
Annalise Lerent says: My dear Staffron, have you forgotten what it is to love? The love that we once shared?
Apothecary Staffron Lerent says: Have I forgotten? Of course I have... I have forgotten about love, happiness... of life itself.
Apothecary Staffron Lerent says: But I do know this - love makes the heart and body weak. It can be exploited. Without your love, I have only my work, Annalise.
Annalise Lerent says: But of course I love you, Staffron. And it pains me to see you suffer so.
Annalise Lerent says: I pledge my love to you forever. Death cannot erase that, even as I am sure that you still remember your love for me.
Annalise Lerent says: And if you do not, then I am truly lost.
Apothecary Staffron Lerent says: How could you love me, Annalise? Look at me. I am not the man you once knew.
Apothecary Staffron Lerent says: Annalise? Annalise! No, don't leave me!
Apothecary Staffron Lerent says: Annalise... You're right. I-I can't do this. I must find another way.
Apothecary Staffron Lerent says: You there. You're welcome to take the contents of my cauldron. It was to be the second stage of my plan - amorous clothing.

The beaten path is at 75,24.&nbsp It's basically north of "Durnholde keep" on the hill which you can see on the map.&nbsp Follow the zig zagged path to reach the manor. You will see the Arena, go past that until it looks as though you cannot continue any further, if you look to the left you will see another path. Follow that and you will see the correct NPC.&nbsp Your reward is infact in the cauldron.

  • First, go to 76,24, zoom in to the max, then zoom out two times (two clics on the minus sign), you should see the brown path drawn on the minimap, the one that zig-zags up the mountain. Follow it. You're in Ravenholdt Manor.
  • Facing the manor, turn to your right (you're now facing south, looking at the archery range) and advance just a little. The path suddenly has a strong slope. Don't follow it down.
  • Instead, turn to your left, and follow that path (down on your right, you see the path going to The Hinterlands). Your path takes you behind the Ravenholdt Manor.
  • You end up seeing Staffron Lerent, talk to him, click on the cauldron, you're done.

I take the above harsh comments back a little. Took all my armor off (never tried that before) and wore my suit. Looked kinda spiffy I guess. I only wish WOW had decent storage space and I could actually keep the thing.
Ultima Online had great storage for clothes like this, and that was what..8 years ago ?

This quest line is back up again for the Valentine's event.

I didn't get any XP for the quests (at 26, even though it showed as red), and the reward is holiday clothing (that, yes, goes in your chest slot, but at least they do look decent).&nbsp There's a little bit of story at the end.

Ravenholdt Manor is located just east of Tarren Mill, across the river.&nbsp There is a windy path leading up to it that you can see on the minimap.&nbsp Hang a right when you reach the actual manor, go straight past the little fighting ring, and follow the path around to the left past the fallen tree and up to the little lake.&nbsp The apothecary is standing next to a cauldron there.&nbsp After talking to him you can pick a piece of clothing out of the cauldron as your reward.

Some people above talked about getting there from the river (it's right behind Chillwind Point), but I can't see any way to climb up the cliffs.

OK, so you had to actually read what people posted... you go out to the right of the manor as you're facing it.&nbsp Keep circling up to the northwest.&nbsp The NPC *will* show up on your mini map.&nbsp Turn the quest in to him, loot the cauldron and you've got your dress/shirt.

"It's too hard" someone said.&nbsp What the hell man - you don't look around when you get to an ending point?&nbsp

Sheesh.&nbsp Some people want this whole game spoon-fed to them.

No XP?&nbsp Well, at least you have a "different" clothing item.&nbsp If you don't want that, then don't do the quest!

Just wondering because I got this quest at level 11. I'm 12 now, but was told to wait until 25 or so? The quest will be over by then (I assume it ends with all this love stuff on the 15th)

Anyways, do I just need to be careful of wandering mobs, or is this guy hostile and I should forget it?

I tried to find this guy Friday 16th and Sat 17th Feb. The area he should be in is not big at all and he isnt there nor is his cauldron.

I guess thereforethey turned off the quest when they patched last.

Pretty much same situation as the NPC guards in the cities not looking for love anymore although some NPC's still were on the 17th. No Inn keepers are playing this quest anymore either.

Seems this set of quest was bought to a halt quite quickly.

Besides, after getting the blue suit my hunter is color coordianted with its blue boots and gloves and cloak. As a hunter I rarely get hit so screw the fact that my armor is 90 lower than it could be. At least I'm hunting in style!

Stop doing this quest right now. You do not want these items. You'll only delete them later. Find something better to do with your time. You may think that this quest is cute, or that maybe this time you'll be the one person to get something cool, but you would be dead wrong. I'm a tailor, I'll make you a shirt or a dress to save you the trouble.
