Toxic Test

Stab a Devilsaur with the Devilsaur Barb. Return to Torwa Pathfinder in Un'Goro Crater when you have completed this task.
  •
Devilsaur stabbed with barb
Provided Item:
Devilsaur Barb

Description

The toxin you helped me create is for a special purpose. The great devilsaurs of the crater make it dangerous to hunt and difficult for me to survive. Even if I possessed the necessary strength, killing a devilsaur simply allows another to move into its territory.

Take this poisoned barb and stab it deep into a living devilsaur. The toxin should pacify the creature, though I do not know how quickly...

It is really annoying, cause when you are looking for a devilsaur, you cant find them. But when you are not looking for one .... xD

Find the Devilsaur around South-east of the map.
Best to Hibernate the Devilsaur, stab, and Run!

First a quick overview! You have to stab one of the elite Devilsaurs with the Devilsaur Barb given to you by Torwa Pathfinder (tloc : 71,68:Entrance to Un'Goro from Tanaris)

Devilsaurs I have encountered in my adventures:
Tyrant Devilsaur: Said to be the craziest to fight
Ironhide Devilsaur
Devilsaur

Not entirely sure which one has this path but it very well be all of them that travel it.

First for those with the ability to use Tloc. The co-ordinates are 30,50.

Now for those that don't have the ability to use Tloc. If you have Golakka Hot Springs explored you should see three variations of lakes. The one we are concerned with is the smallest of the three. Venture over to it and you will find (This goes for those with Tloc also) a camp with Krakle standing at a tent. Just wait there for about 5-10 minutes and you should eventually see an elite Devilsaur.

What to do when you see it! Run for your life!
No, seriously...

Very simple. Hibernate the Devilsaur, may take a few trys seeing it could very well be 3-5 lvls higher than you. Once you have slept it stab it with the barb, this DOES NOT break the hibernation. I tried running away but these things are amazingly fast.... Best of luck to you.

All you need to do to complete the quest is use the Devilsaur Barb on a devilsaur, you don't need to kill him!

I did this on level 52, for being sure, hibernate will not resist better cast 'Entangling Roots' on the Devilsaur, then stab and run :)

I'm 51 and I just soloed this easy, just run up behind it, Hibernate, go up close and stab it with the barb, turn to travel form and run away.. I used Nature's Grasp before I stabbed it so when sleep broke it would'nt munch me.. Well it broke soon after i stabbed it and that thing can outrun you in travel form easy.. came up and hit me and did his fear thing, but nature's grasp rooted it.. just enough time for me to run away again. Easy.

Yes this is a typical smash and grab job, if you have it put on natures grasp and run right up to the devilsaur and then run far and run fast because he is coming at you!

52 druid
hibernate
stab
leave
no fighting involved

the closest/best dino's are west of the volcanic in the center. there are fewer mobs than south or southeast path.

I suggest fighting this elite dino however since druids, especially, skinners can not only do it but can benefit from the crafted.

Druids, best way to do it is to hit him with the animal soothe, get close, hibernate, poision (poisioning him does not break hibernate)hit cat form and run away. I did this at 54 and didn't take any damage and didn't agro anyone.

Yeah, so just did this and it didn't quit hitting me at 10% health. The quest did complete though even with me dying. But yeah, if you're worried about dying, ignore the people that said it will quit hitting you at 10% or whatever. Hibernate it, stab it, and run.

They are the massive elite ones. I just ran up and stabbed him and ran away. I barely made it running so be ready to bolt. I supposed I could have just died, it still would have been completed.

omgggg you dont need to do any of that. just run up to it and STAB IT~! the quest was created so that you the druid dont die. after you stab it and let the devilsaur beat on you, at 10% health he will automatically go back to its original position leaving you un-dead.

For those of you who have never seen a Devilsaur, this is what they look like. I ran around for 30 minutes before I even fonud one, that was the first time I had ever seen one =)

I ran up, some hunter rode past and the Devilsaur attacked him, I cast cast Entangling Roots and ran up and used the barb. He focused on me and I cheetaded away or 20 yards before he cuaght me :S

But still, I got the quest done. Did both this q and the pre-q while waiting for a group for ST to =)

The timer ran out, on the poison on my staff before I could find a devilsaur. I tried to abandon, but when I accepted the quest again, my staff didn't have the poison on it. I am at a loss what to do.

Reward is another quest that takes you to the end of Sunken Temple. You have to kill the guy in the basement area.
