Description

There is a malevolence growing in the timberlings. We are trying to find the source, but until we do...in order to keep Teldrassil safe we must cut down the timberlings who are beyond help. Those that wander Wellspring Lake in northern Teldrassil are the most tainted. They must be removed!

Destroy the Timberlings you find there, and gather the mossy tumors growing upon them. Bring the tumors to me so that they may be burned.

Drop wasn't that bad for me.. killed like 12-15 of the Elder Timberlings and got my 5 Moss.

To get to them just go to the Oracle Glade and turn right till you hit a Lake/River.

I read most of the posts on here and you all really confused me.&nbsp The place you can find the timberlings that drop the tumbers is about half way between Dolnaar and Darnassus.&nbsp It is north of the road (43, 41).&nbsp The south end of the lake makes like a circle (it pools) and there is a dock... if you see that you are in the right spot.&nbsp All of the different types of timberlings will drop the required items.&nbsp I only had to kill like 10 of them to get the five tumors.&nbsp DO NOT GO TO LAKE AL'AMETH the timberlings there do no drop the tumors. I hope this will help and happy hunting.

There are lots of timberling who will drop the tumors at 43,26 good luck...

This is the lake with southern point at 42,42. Drop rate is decent maybe 30% or so.

For those who have been mislead, you can find Rellian Greenspyre at the Cenarion Enclave in Darnassus. The coordinates are (38,21).

Couldn't find Rellian when I had done the Q, (meybe because I don't know Darnassus so well yet) but if you have the same prob, /tloc 38,22 is his pos. in Darnassus..

found at Wellspring River just east of Oracle Glade,Teldrassil. Timberlings Dire Beast drops more often than elder timberlings... only wasted about 5-10mins. there's also a millin of em at Lake Al'Meth just south of Dolanaar.

At 43, 34 (43.36 34.15 for those with very accurate co-ordinates), Wellspring Lake, I killed five Timberling Mire Beasts ( http://classicdb.ch/?npc=2029 ) and got a 100% drop rate, so 5 from 5. A very nice ammount of xp for such an easy quest. Good luck to everyone else. =)

EASY! Go to wellspring lake, just right of the oracle glade and you will find it. Just kill about ten timberlings and u will get the tumors, u should be about level ten if u want it EASY!

Location is good. However, the yellow ones were 100% drop rate for me, and I didn't get any off of the blue ones.

The last thing you need to worry about is getting surprised by one of these guys. They move slowly and the respawn time is long.
Since you get this quest at such a low level you can use the lull between killing these guys to kill spiders, sabres, and owls. I actually leveled waiting for them to respawn.

just go south at the lake amreth or how its spelled... there youll find a cave with some timberling barklings and stamplers... i got the tumors in less than a hour. plus there is a lvl 9 elite waiting for you.

Wellspring Lake I think it was.I'm having a bear trying to kill a Rare monster..every1, I would recommend hovering ur cursor over the blue ones just in case u see a rare monster...I did :).(Yet died)
I got the tumor from the first guy I killed.

Level 9 Druid Comments:

Timberling Mire beasts at the above coords dropped almost all the time.&nbsp Only one beast failed to give me what I need.&nbsp Mobs were level 9-10 so it was a cakewalk.

i went to the spot i needed to go to, killed about 10 or 12 of them and had 4 tumors. i was a ways up the river so i headed back to darnssaus, planing on killing 2 or 3 of them on the way back. i killed about 20 and went back up the river. killed the first lvl 10 i saw and got the tumor. i came up with this. only kill lvl 10's or higher. better drop rate i guess.

It's tough to compare drop rates with only 5 items needed, but this is what I had:

Elder Timberling: 3 killed, 1 drop
Timberling Mire Beast: 4 killed, 3 drops
Timberling Trampler: 4 killed, 1 drop

If I go through this area with another low level character, I'll be targetting the mire beasts - those are the dark blueish/green ones

Drop rate of about 95% not bad considering the first time I tried with a level 9 rogue. Went back with a level 11 hunter (with a level 10 pet) and massacred them )

Just did the quest with my lvl 9 hunter. Killed about 18 with only 2 drops. Logged out, logged back in, first one dropped. Did this 2 more times to complete it. Everytime you relog it seems to drop... Weird bugged quest but completed it anyway...

Killed 7 Timberling Trampler's at Wellspring Lake (43:41).
They dropped every other dropn then all dropped - I've noticed if you're a higher level then the thing you're killing then the drop rate is higher.
Experience gained: 975.
Reputation with Darnassus increased by 350.
