Jadefire Felbind (5)
Provided Item:
Flute of Xavaric

Description

You study the simple wooden flute you picked up after defeating Xavaric.

The knotted wood feels solid, but it seems as if the spirals and patterns in the surface begin to spin and move as you turn it over in your hands. Suddenly, you feel a sense of dread...

You shake your head, sure that your mind is playing tricks on you.

It's possible that other satyrs carry clues as to what you have found. Bring your findings to the druid, Eridan Bluewind, that lives in southern Felwood.

The drop rates reported for the Jadefire Felbind are artificially low. I found it to be a reasonable 30% or so--the whole quest took about 10 minutes.

You get the Jadefire Felbinds from the mobs right next to the boss that drops the flute. Around (42,18).

Turn in is at Emerald Sanctuary.

This is a chain quest, so get ready to go to Darnassus for the next one!

Dranei cannot complete this quest as confirmed by a GM on 2/27/07.

Blizzard knows about this problem and is working on it, until then tough luck.

When you watch drop rate for this item (http://classicdb.ch/?item=11674), Have in mind that drop percent is lower cause mobs that drop it were killed without quest. And without quest you cant get quest item drop...
I hope you won't miss this quest cause it writes the highest drop is 4% :)

After U kill Xavaric and get the flute, remember that U need drops from the Jadefire Demons! U need 5 Jadefire Felbinds, wich U get from killing ex. jadefire betrayer, trickster.

Ditto on the tricksters. they seemed to have the best drop rate even thought it says it matches the betrayer. However the betrayers drop decently too and you have to kill them to get em outta the way anyway :P

This is an excellent area to grind for Runecloth! just by finishing "Further Corruption" and Flute of Xavaric I walked away with 47 runecloth

Beware of the tricksters! If it werent for those, i wouldnt hate that place as much. Killed my pet more than 10 times! And i'm serious! They charm you, so that when you really need to take action, then you just like stand and shoot your own pet :/

Any Draenei players managed to get the flute yet? O've killed Xavaric 5 times and he still doesn't drop the flute.... Or is it just because my luck is bad? Because I heard that draenei players can't get the Onyxia quest because they're not flagged as Alliance or something and wondering if it applies to this quest too.

The drop rate for these items was pretty weird for me. I must have killed a few dozen of the demon guys without a single one dropping, then they all dropped for me within a few minutes.

The little "cause insanity" thing the Tricksters do does exactly what it says on the tin. It drove me insane! As a Warlock I was getting mind controlled and attacking my pet but every now and then game was then resetting the demon who ran back to his starting position with full HP. Made it pretty annoying to kill them, especially when there's a group of 3 and they'd all reset.

I'm a 52 Human palladin my friend is a 51 Draenei shaman. When we killed Xavaric, I got the flute and he didn't. We went back to kill him after he respawned, making sure it was my friend's turn to loot (just in case), and he didn't get the flute. Then I was able to loot, and it was there for me. I couldn't pick it up because I already had one though.

Any idea why my friend wasn't able to get it? This is annoying because we do most of our quests together and we can't share that chain.

Niether have a better drop rate. I have done this quest with several alts and they drop roughly the same from the Betrayers and the Tricksters. Good drop rate too. Killed 11 mobs and had my 5 jadefire felbinds
