A Watchful Eye

Take the Glyph of Azora to the Lion Statue near the Tower of Ilgalar in Redridge.
Glyph of Azora
Provided Item:
Glyph of Azora

Description

My rival, Morganth, is a vicious mage of great power who lives in the Tower of Ilgalar in Redridge. I have developed a means of spying on him, the Eye of Azora, and can now view him from afar.

But to study his thoughts ... I require further aid.

If you are willing, then take my Glyph of Azora to the Tower of Ilgalar. Place it upon the Lion Statue near the Tower.

When this is done, the power of Azora will grant visions of Morganth's future plans.

Here's the scoop, guys.&nbsp Approach the statue from the south, following the trail that leads from Render's Valley to the Tower.&nbsp If you follow the edge of the mountains when approaching the statue you should have no problems.&nbsp Do NOT approach the tower by following the road east from Alther's Mill.&nbsp That direction is thick with mobs lvl 24-26.

North from Renders Valley: Extrememly easy
East from Alther's Mill:&nbsp Painfully annoying

The statue is on 84, 46 for those who can't find it...If you don't have Cords..its up the path from Lakeshire then follow the fork to the right. Head east till you see the tower on the right (past the castle) the statue is on the left facing the tower. Just right click on the statue. Remember to accept the follow on quest.

It's actually right in front of the tower. I'm a level 22 Priest and had no trouble getting there (avoiding groups of mobs) while killing a few of them here and there.

This was an easy one, did it at 20 as a mage went south then east and north from LS and only had to fight one lvl 24 mob. I sheeped and finsihed the quest. Did it in 10min

Lv 20 Mage
Swam over the waterfall
Hugged the mountain until I got to the guard near the Lion. (84,47)
Couldn't kill or sheep it, my Lv 20 spells had almost no effect against the Lv 24-26(?) - he was resisting like crazy, so I died near Lion and res'd.
Completed quest then relied on frost and mana shield to slow him down enough for me to escape again.

I was a 24 priest when i took it, didn't die 2 fight only, but a lot of shield and running and scream was used.

i think the best way to get to the lion if you do not have stealthing capabilities is to go down the waterfall, avoid the merlocs and stay to the right along the mountains, you may have to face a couple but not as many as if you were to go through them

This was not so bad.&nbsp I stayed along the mountains edge after going thru Render Valley.&nbsp Did not die once.&nbsp I hearthed immediately afterwards before reading quest obtained.&nbsp BAD PLAN - the quest obtained sends you into the tower.&nbsp Now I have to go all through it again, had to kill many of the guards going thru Render Valley.&nbsp Used my Succubus, she never died either.

very easy to avoide the humanoids but some are at level 26 and so, so i don't think it should be done at level 21 or at least alone

Did the quest alone with a level 23 Mage. Not recommended. I think the lack of people questing at the beginning of the game in groups is enough to make some quit.

Harder than some of these people make it sound. I'm a 20 warlock and made it there just fine, going thru the waterfall, staying close to the mt. etc. Until I got RIGHT by the stupid lion. There is a 25 shadowweaver hiding right over the mountain ridge. He had me to half life before I could see who the heck was shooting me.

This is way harder than the quest colour system would have you think. You have to play cat and mouse with 24-26 level gnolls to get to where it is. (Left of and dead opposite of Morganths tower.) I was level 22 and it was telling me the difficulty was green. Non-rogues don't try this one alone.

&nbsp There is no reward for this one.&nbsp Once you place the glyph it activates and he gives you another target to place another Glyph on.&nbsp This one however&nbsp should be rated Elite as the tower the target is in is guarded by Elite Ogre.&nbsp And Yea the first part should be rated much higher.

There is a hunter who says non-hunters dont try this, there is a roque who says non-roques dont try this and a lot of other classes say they have done it so lol?

This quest can be done without the previous "Theocritus' Retrieval" quest. I believe the Theocritus' Retrieval quest is a stand-alone one. This is the start of the chain-linked quest to take down the Warlock Morganth.

I do not think however, that once you start the "A watchful Eye" quest, you are still able to do the "Theocritus' Retrieval" quest. So story-wise they are linked, game-wise they appear not to be.

The statue is that of a seated lion facing the Tower of Ilgar. It is basically due East of the Tower and is fairly easy to see from the main path.

You place the glyph you got from the Tower of Azora in Elwynn in the statue, and another quest is started.

went south around the lake, swam up the river and jumped out before the canyon starts.if you swim all the way up the river you cant exit the canyon.

thru the mountain pass due est of the lake, and up thru the horse camp, skirted the bad guys. np.

probably easier than fighting your way thru by going to the north of the lake.
