Sometimes she isn't there, either someone else is doing the quest or has been killed, just hang around or do something else if she isn't there, if you follow the path into the thickets you can see if someone else is doing a quest with her.

53 priest, did it the second time I tried. If you're trying it at lower levels, the key is to hang back and make sure that Ranshalla is the one who starts fighting the moonkin - if you're attacked first instead, she doesn't help.

I did this a lvl 56 hunter on Malfurion and this is probably the easiest quest I've ever done.... but you gotta know the mechanics of how escort quests work.

What I do for any escort quests is stay far behind the NPC I'm escorting. I'll only help the NPC if he turns back and fight someone.

Sometimes the NPC will start walking and aggro a mob but will just never stop to fight. When this happens, don't take the mobs off of the back of the NPC you're escorting. Just let the NPC keep walking. Don't even heal or it will draw aggro on you. The mob that's after him will eventually leave him if you just do nothing.

Once you learn how to not panic when your escort has a NPC attached to his back but just isn't turning back, you'll complete all of your escort without further problems (if you got what it takes in the first place).

For this quest, it wasn't a problem because you'd not have the NPC aggro 3-4 mobs and then decide to turn around because there weren't a lot of people packed in the area, for some other quests it's harder.

The cords were on the money thanks...Here are some details on the quest.&nbsp
First- the cords above are right, if she is not there someone is on the quest..

Second- do some killing before or while you wait, ranshalla does not stop unless she is attacked first, and if there are other people (horde or alliance) doing the quest its the cool thing to do to help while earning some good EXP from the owlbeasts that range from level 56 to 59, so if you are below level 56 i recomend you get help

Quest- Ranshalla will lead you through 5 caves in total each cave will give you a break to regen HP and MP (if ya use Mp) she will channel a spell.&nbsp Untill you right click the torch that she is facing you will not continue this gives you the break i told you about.&nbsp After all five caves are done she will lead you to an alter where she summons a priest of Elune, some dialogue is exchanged and after that for the most part quest is done.. Return the quest in Ruth. village outside of Darnassus, take up the follup quest for the opaque neckless (im a mage dident remember the other item), and then you are sent back to the Centerion enclave for your reward..In total the quest takes about 30 min, and shells out about 6K to 9k of EXP....good luck hope it helps

She won't help you fight if you aggro.. So let her aggro mobs first, then attack so she helps you, rather than walking off..

The quest after this one is to escort her, so if she's missing just wait a while and she should respawn.

True it is a boring little clip, however it adds alot to the story for those who are interested

This is the easiest escort quest I can remember. You only need to fight one owlbeast at a time and they're easy. No flames, no frost, no heal-stopping, no mystery attacks, no nothing.

Then you get 4500XP from Erlas and he sends you to Fandral, the top druid, who gives you another 3000XP and a bow or a necklace. What's not to like?

Okay...&nbsp so yea it's easy to find her... Just go straight south and you see her there... If you get attacked she DOES NOT HELP YOU...&nbsp I'm a 58 Druid not too young to be doing the quest.&nbsp You need to let her get attacked first.&nbsp I went feral and used my stealth to walk beside her so that they targeted her first...

And um about that whole she helps you fight players...&nbsp She doesn't help you if you get attacked therefore if you get attacked (as I did) by a horde character she doesn't do anything...&nbsp So I died then the <insert foul word here> killed her too.&nbsp My advice is if at all possible at least take a friend so you aren't a sitting duck for horde.

Level 53 Priest. I soloed this very easily. Ranshalla has alot of AC and I let her get aggro on every mob that came at the two of us. Very simple quest. One elite was a tough fight so Psychic Scream and Click Candle. It Didnt Aggro Ranshalla so I have to run out of range while Ranshalla kept walking to the next Candle. I came back and all was good. Ended the quest in 7 minutes. Went to Erelas Ambersky later and he Gave me another quest to see the Arch Druid in Darnassus (57) Wildkin of Elrune which has two rewards. But as always the older drops I have from earlier level's were still better than the junk they give out on these higher level quests. Go figure.

Yup, did this quest easily as a 53 druid...just sat back and let Ranshalla do all the work (she's an NPC that can hold her own.)&nbsp Buffed her, we set off, and i tossed her a few heals every now and then.&nbsp Cake.&nbsp Ended up with 4800 plus 6000 exp at the end of the whole thing, and i think any healer could do the same at a low level.&nbsp

Someone mentioned that he used the mechanical yeti. So I did as well. Kind of mistake =P At first, yeti took aggro of mobs that she didn't care about so I had to help the little idiot out... but the really funny stuff was later, in one cave, I was lighting the torch while I see undead rogue lvl 60 (I'm ally) coming into the cave.. he started mining.. Just to be sure I did /cry, so he wouldn't fk up my quest but my yeti attacked him xD That was hilarious. He got on mount and went away with my poor yeti following him :'(

Besides that it was easy, just stealthing behind her..

I soloed this quest today, L54 Gnome Mage, without any problems whatsoever.&nbsp I did have to wait for her to spawn but after that it was simple:
Accept the escourt quest, follow behind her while she agros a few MOBs but she only agros *one* at a time.&nbsp Enter each cave and as she "casts a strange spell" click on the torch (1 in each cave). Proceed to the alter where you click on it as well, a Priestess of Elune appears and a video/story regarding the Owlbeasts, etc. is played.&nbsp Good exp and rewards since it just takes a trip to Rueth. Village and then directly to Darn.

The escortee stops to cast in each cave and you have to light the tourches in the middle of the cave for her.&nbsp Don't light them until after you mana up and heal yourself.&nbsp She'll wait.&nbsp

I agree, it is very easy. 55 druid soloing. But, I stopped to drink when we were about to enter the 3rd cave. When I finnished my drink, I went into the cave she'd gone into, and she was gone... <.<

Did it as a lvl56 feral druid without a problem.&nbsp The suggestion about letting her walk in front of you though is a good one, she'll completely ignore you and your mob and just keep walking...usually into another mob.

I came across this Quest when scouting in winterspring. The Quest is easy as long as you let ranshalla take the lead. If an Owlbeast attacks you before it gets to her SHE WILL NOT HELP! Making it a bit tougher on the littl 54 warlock that is me.

I had no trouble lighting the altar at the end. As soon as she asks you get extremely close to the altar and activate it, this should work.

Very easy to solo. You need only kill 5x 57-59lvl mobs and go in 5 cave's.

When I found the girl at the coordinates posted above (63.59 is bang on), a lvl 60 hunter just ran in front of me, and cleared a lot of the area, making it a very easy quest to finish.

Exp gained in the series:

Find Ranshalla - 3k
Guardians of the Altar - 4.8k
Wildkin of Elune - 6k

Reputation for Darnassus also jumped ahead, so a very worthwhile quest series, and a nice necklace at the end.

Somehow the quest text seemed bugged though. I saw Ranshalla say (after walking into a cave):

"We have found the it, $N". Not only is the wording wrong, but the $N kept appearing inbetween the caves.

....but i did this solo as a 52 combat rogue.. granted all hopped up on potions... but completed none-the-less.

good XP (3.5k, 4.8k, 6k), good rep (about 500+), crap rewards for a rogue but got 2.73g for the bow from a vender.

Yeah she doesn't help you so make sure they attack her first.&nbsp At Lvl 52, my aggro radius was huge compared to hers at lvl 58.&nbsp I had to "Fade" and run in big circles but in the end it was easy.

She will heal herself between battle but you have to help her to win the battle.&nbsp You can even heal her if it gets bad.

I just tried this quest 2 times (on EU-Shadowsong) and it failed to complete. 1st time 1 walked away assuming it was done, only to get failed occur when walking away.

2nd time, I waited 10 minutes to see what would happen and nothing did until I walked away from the altar when it filed again.

Have reported to GM and am now awaiting response.

She's off wandering once in a while, so if you can't find her at 63.59 just be patient and wait for her. She's standing next to the southern of the two pillars at the entrance, next to the road.

Ranshalla can be found on the east side of the road, at location 62,60

As of Patch 1.10, this quest rewards 1g 80s for Level 60, plus 50 Darnassus reputation. XP unknown, as it is no longer reported at Level 60.

Confirmed co-ords are 63,59. She's right next to the pillar at Owl Wing Thicket, east of Everlook.

Correct cordinates are 63.59

The level req must have dropped a bit. Got this at lvl 53-54 after having the collect feather thing... I think I had that at 53, possibly 52.

In which case the "attain" for the next part of this chain is less than 57. I can access it now as a lvl 55.

Oh, and it's the stone archway to Owl Wing Thicket on the east side of the road that goes south. It's about halfway between Everlook and the bottom end of the zone.
