Forsaken Diseases

Bring a Bottle of Disease to Kayneth Stillwind in Forest Song.
Bottle of Disease

Description

The Forsaken, the undead arm of the Horde, have crept into Ashenvale, lurking at our ruins and our barrows. We believe their goal is to spread disease amongst the lands of the night elves. We must confirm this!

The Forsaken have a camp south of here, near the Dor'Danil Barrow Den, where they create poisons and diseases and place them in bottles. Fight your way into that camp and steal a bottle of disease. Return with such a bottle. I will test it and find its purpose.

Christ dude...stop confusing people, the correct location (after dying 12 times following these instruction above) is 75,72.&nbsp Do not go anywhere near the Warsong Lumber Camp.&nbsp From the NPC who gave the quest, head to Splintertree Post (southwest), from there head south directly.&nbsp The small camp (where the poison is) is a bit north of Felfire Hill.

South Eastern part of the map, south of Solace Glade/road, east of the road to The Barrens. You will find a tent and table of alchemy products surrounded by the Forsaken (undead). Pretty easy to solo at 33+.

I got interrupted when I first tried to get the "open" the bottle 'cause a Horde rogue ambushed me. Well, when I went back to the table and tried to get it, the bottle was gone!

I abandoned the quest, reacquired it, and went back, and even tried restarting the game a few times with no luck. I can't find the bottle on the table anymore :(.

Anyone know if this is a bug?

There are plenty of stealthed Ashenval Outrunners around the camp, especially the northwestern side of it. You can pull the forsaken up to them, and they will help you kill them. There also is a blue lvl 31 hippogryph, Sharptalon, patrolling the area. He will gladly participate in the fights, just pull the mobs to him.

This can be a tough solo quest, especially if you like to RUN AND GUN (charge in and kill..kill..kill).&nbsp I solo'd it as a 29 rogue, but stealthing had no impact.&nbsp The key is pulling them 1-by-1 using ranged weapon and kite technique.&nbsp Approach the camp (white tent) from the SOUTH.&nbsp Kite means use ranged weapon to hit one from afar, he'll run at you and you back up a bit before attacking so as not to attack to close to the camp.&nbsp When looking northward and the white tent, start picking them off from Left to RIGHT, starting with the one behind (farthest left) the tent.&nbsp Kite it and kill it, then move right.&nbsp Once you get to the one farthest right (near the tree) you should be good.&nbsp However, I also tookout the one behind the table, just for good measure.&nbsp Two extra points:
1. Check ur 6 before you attack, you don't want a beast behind you when start backing up.
2. This is a low level horde questing area(low to mid 20's).&nbsp They've never given me trouble on 2 quests in this area, but ya never know with those cats, they might be feeling frisky.

Good Luck!

The bottle of disease/poison isn't in a cave or anything, and it's not that close to the warsong lumber camp.&nbsp If you go near the Barrow Den southeast of Astranaar, you'll see a tiny camp with a few tables and a tent surrounded by a bunch of undead guys around level 28 or so.&nbsp The bottle is there.&nbsp I don't know if it's on the table or what, mine was on the ground in front of the tent, so search RIGHT AROUND that tiny camp.

I found this exactly as stated above, head directly south of the Splintertree Post and it shall be just North of the small house icon in an open Undead encampment(just one tent and some Level 28-30 Non-Elite undead, really) on a bloody table.

--Hope this helps

After getting this quest head back towards astranaar. Go past the 4 stumps with faces and over the bridge. Take the next left towards the lumbercamp but do not go that far. When facing the camp, on the right are 2 large cut tree stumps go between them and through a small valley, the forsaken camp is in front of you showing as a tiny spot on the mini map as previously mentioned.

On a hill just north-east of the camp, there is an Ashenvale Outrunner lurking around (76.73). If you have trouble with fighting the mobs, pull them to her and she will help with the fight.

One person stated, "I found the Pommel for the Raene's Cleansing quest here... perhaps it's a bug."
- No it is not a bug. The dryad mentions the dead druids used to live in that area. Now seeing part two of this quest (where you have to kill the druids' spirits) and finishing it yesterday this is definatly the right area. The pommel is in the chests the slimes drop, just to clarify.

Now, the poisons are in the bottles in the little camp. There are two on the floor and two or three on the table. As a level 26-27 (I leveled during it) NE Hunter I continually set traps, pulled one, and brought it to the guards after I found out, "Hey! They attack them... maybe they will attack one I pull over..."&nbsp It's a nice tactic and there is a chance uf you did it at my level you might die. Although just clear most of the camp and grab a bottle. (I grabbed the one at the tent.)

Then return to Kayneth Stillwind and get the second part of the quest. -- It's red to level 27 so bring a buddy! (I also can assume mobs.) --

True. After dying a couple of times, and using my last chance before quitting, came here, read the comments:
-Pull them one by one --> Wrong! The four surrounding the table will definitely aggro in 95% of the times.

-The spirit/helpers will give you a hand --> half true, half wrong. As a commenter said, not funny lvl 23 vs. lvl 29/30. Die easily, not much of a help, if/when they give a hand.

After trying them all, the one to go is to come from behind, kill the two mobs (one behind the table and the other one on tope of the little hill there) they appear and dissapear, those u can take one by one easily. Then, get the farthest apart from the bottle where you can still reach it, and grab it. Hassle free. And if u can stealth or prowl, better!

Soloed as Druid lvl 30, after many many tries.

Hope this is helpful.

Just did this as a 26 Druid.&nbsp Took a couple of deaths, even after reading some of the tips here, before realizing I was pulling them to the wrong outrunner.&nbsp So if you're too young to be doing the quest, consider doing what others said and pull them to the stealthed outrunners stationed around the camp (there's about 4 of them hanging out).&nbsp

You need to kill 4 of the guys to get to the bottles on the table closest to the tree (farthest away from the tent).&nbsp It's mentioned about that they don't BAF (Bring a Friend), and it's true if you can pull them with a ranged attack.&nbsp Consider fighting them on the same level as the table, there's an outrunner next to the rock against the tree directly behind that table.&nbsp

Worked marvelously for me.&nbsp =)

And if you watch long enough, you'll get treated to one of the outrunners trying to solo the forsaken themselves.&nbsp They die.&nbsp )&nbsp Lvl 23/24 versus 29/30 sucks.&nbsp hehe.&nbsp

I died repeatedly doing this quest until I read suggestions here to start from behind the camp.&nbsp That totally made the difference!&nbsp I just finished soloing it with my level 28 warrior.&nbsp Just be patient and target forsaken as soon as they become visible.&nbsp Then shoot them with gun or bow and kill them off one by one. When they are dealt with, go get the bottle.&nbsp The only time I died coming from the back was when I got impatient and tried to get the bottle before being sure they were all dead. I found the table at 75.72 as well.&nbsp Thanks for the tips! :)

Level 29 Feral Druid. I couldn't just pull 1 at a time. 2 always come and they stealth during combat which makes it even more stressful.

At first I thought 1 of them had the bottle you need, then I spotted it on the table.
I also thought you had to go into the burrow den to get the disease bottle.
When I finally thottbotted it, I visually located it.

What I don't get is WHY do you gotta open up the bottle to grab it off the table? That does add to the challenge, but a rather annoying 1.

Had to get a Level 46 Hunter to assist me with that quest and I got it done after clearing them all.

The bottles are on a table right by the Dor Danil Barrow Den on the map. I killed like 3 or 4 of the forsaken, but none of the stealthed NE's helped me, they just stood there but it wasnt a problem soloing it. After killing the 4, I sneaked behind the first table, grabbed a bottle and ran for my life...and also into the horde pat...

Solo'd as a lvl 27 shaman.

After dying a couple times..I realized that the only ashenvale outrunner that will actually help is the one BEHIND the table, near a huge tree.

So I say, go in from the back. You only need to fight 3 undead before you get to the bottle of disease.
