Description

West of Un'Goro Crater, via the northwestern ridge, is a harsh wasteland - Silithus. Few know that an ancient war was waged there between the night elves and a malign, alien power. The evil was sealed, but now we suspect that forces work to stir this... unspeakable horror.

Seek out Layo Starstrike, one of our agents in Silithus; look for him at Valor's Rest, the final resting spot for the fallen of the wastes. Give him this letter, and he will give you his trust accordingly.

Layo Starstrike can be found at 81,18.
It's on the border Silitius / Unguro, a small camp with some NPC's, you can find Layo Starstrike on the right side of the camp.

Darnassus confirmed. I got the quest in Darnassus. First task was to find Rabine.

Rabine is at 51,44 Moonglade

No the guy who starts this quest series is Rabine Saturna in the town of Nighthaven, in the zone of Moonglade. If you've never been there before, you can get to Moonglade via the Timbermaw tunnels in the north of Felwood. It's also a neutral town, which is why the quest is available to both Horde and Alliance.

Like one of the other guys I got the start of this quest of a lvl 3 Herald who wanders around - I think since one one of the patches - possibly the War effort one - when the gate was opened - there are heralds in all three Alliance Major Cities. It may not be a pre-requisite - but it's what started me on the quest.

My first time to Silithus, at level 56.

Had Wasteland and Taking Back Silithus quests to do.

From Marshalls' Refuge, travel west in Un'Goro to 2 odd looking pillars on your right, along rim, just north of the nose of the "dragon head" pattern of the river on your mini map. 29.22. Up you go to Silithus.

Valor's Rest is at top of path between Un'Goro and Silithus.

Lay Starstrike is in Valor's Rest on your left at 81.18.

At level 56 I got 2800 XP for Wasteland.

Wasteland started for me with someone who sent me to Moonglade. Wandering NPC in UC. In Moonglade I was given Wasteland quest.

To get to Cenarion Hold from here, go west 17 lightpoles.
