Seeking the Kor Gem

Bring a Kor Gem to Thundris Windweaver in Darkshore.
Corrupted Kor Gem

Description

Greetings, <name>. What can I do for one who follows a holy path?

Ah, yes, Stilwell, the blacksmith... from long ago. I remember him well, though, I have not heard his name in some time.

He never struck me as an impudent man, so I can only assume his desire for a Kor gem is noble.

If you truly wish for one of the gems, then you must head to the northwest of Ashenvale. You will find Blackfathom Deeps there within some ancient ruins. The naga who still use the gems are down below. Do not go alone, <class>.

Soloed this as a Paladin LVL 22.

The Corrupted Kor Gem drops from the nagas inside the instance, and right outside (elites).
The nagas are about LVL 20-22 Elite mobs, but not that hard to kill. Took me 3 naga kills, then the gem dropped.
The most annoying thing is that the nagas are standing close to some Demons. So unless you can silence the caster nagas you may have to do a suicide run on the nagas )

As of the latest patch the nagas you need to kill outside are no longer elite.

i just solo'd this (level 30 paladin) and it's pretty easy. The Naga is a descriptive term for the race of fish/snake people that are on zorams strand and in the deepfathoms instance. there is a list of naga who have the gem found in the instance here.&nbsp They are found in the water, I just swam to the chamber with the first boss (a massive terrapin), after a chamber full of murlocs and in the water around the island are nagas.
Drop rate does not seem amazing, but it only took me six or seven kills before i got it.
The benefits of an instance is if you don't feel like going all the way back to the beginning or the end you can just kill yourself and then go and get your corpse from the beginning because you automatically respawn there rather than where you die. Useful sometimes.

mostly you only get it from the naga and not the satyr

If this one has a 100% droprate then im not sure if you know the fact that a 100% is actually that every kill drops. More like 5%.

Did you get the Q from Thundris before you went to BFD? I did that mistake in Mogrosh Stronghold.

Right, i'm a bit stuck. I did just what Pallyluck said to do and i found the cave etc, except, there were no monsters called Naga there. There were Blackfathom Tide Pristess (elite) and Fallenroot Satyrs (elite)but no Naga. Now, are these the same monsters? Do they still drop the Kor Gem? Or are they just called a different thing because I have a different version of the game maybe?

Please this is desperate, a reply soon would really help.

Well I took down about another 10 naga last night until I fanally got it.&nbsp At lvl 23 it was tough to solo. I recomend grouping, but one other would be all you need.

I got the quest from Auberdine, and as soon as I got it, started looking for a party for BFD.&nbsp I generally don't lookup quests on Anonymous unless I REALLY get stuck so not knowing exactly where the gem dropped and assuming it would drop from one boss or another in the instance&nbsp I got together a full party and did the entire instance (looting the Naga all the way into and through the instance),&nbsp By the time we got to the main boss I was getting a little worried and sure enough at the end of the instance I still had no Kor Gem...
I read the Anonymous posts on the subject and realised that I didn't need to do the instance at all...&nbsp but still I had looted every Naga I could on the way in.&nbsp I hearthed out and came back alone, about 2 Naga in the Kor Gem dropped.&nbsp
My conclusion: despite the paladin quest saying that the items are listed in order of dificulty to attain (leading me to believe it must be in the instance, this is definitely soloable for a paly (I was lvl 23 at the time but I think it could be done at 20 with careful pulling and some skill as a paly) and should be done solo to guarantee that the Gem drops quickly.
The long and the short of it SOLO THIS QUEST AS SOON AS YOU CAN and get your mace at lvl 20 or as close to as possible&nbsp

So i find a party to go to BFD, i stop in auberdine to get quest, run down there, and we start summons. Once everyones down there we start clearing. A few mins later we've cleared almost all the way to the instance. Now im just wondering why I havn't picked up a gem yet. And yet, there it is, the party im in is actually a raid....the leader had changed it when we summoned, for no apparent reason, atleast no intelligent reason. So, I tell em I'll brb, drop group, kill one tidefury princess solo at lvl 24, and there it is, first kill. So, my conclusion: This gem will NOT drop if u are in a raid party, but not many groups will need to make a raid for BFD anyway.

The NPC is in the big NE buiding to the north of the building that leads to the docks, try typing /target "NPC Name Here" It helps when ur trying to find NPC's or running around trying to find a specific mob/Hordie/Ally.

Blackfathom Deeps is in the Northwest Corner of Ashenvale, on the western coast of Kalimdor. Once you're in the pre-instance part of BD, you'll eventually come to a part that looks like a dead end. In fact, you have to jump into a pool and swim down beneath to continue. You'll eventually come to the instance.

Pallyluck's strategy is sound, but his experience is unique. the first monsters is not necessarily a Male Naga indeed, I was hard pressed to find any Male Naga in the area. It must've been luck that he got his ruby on the second kill. Still, the strategy works, and good luck to those of you who have to solo it.

I felt that I would have a hell of a time doing this by myself.&nbsp I don't know if the odds changed or what, but I killed 20 some in a party and didn't get it yet.&nbsp I think you can expect to kill more than 20 in some cases.&nbsp I would definately recommend trying to get a bit of help, but if you're hell bent on solo'ing, all I can say is: good luck...

Why won't Thundris Windweaver give me the quest? I'm a lvl 24 Paladin and by the looks of it, alot of people are able to do this quest at lvl 20. Please, comment.

Okay, just spent about 2 hours there, saw some horde passing through while I was there.

Yes I have the quest from the guy in Aub.&nbsp After about 20 kills(the priestesses) and plenty of satyrs, but they don't count, still no gem.

Will be back at it tomorrow.

Soloed this at lvl 21, no pots, and no drink for that matter (forgot to buy some otw hehe).&nbsp Anyways, the respawn is pretty slow outside the instance, which is where mine dropped, off a prietess after about 10-15 kills.&nbsp Basically just crusador, judge, reckoning, judge, holy light here and there, yada yada.&nbsp Pretty easy, especially the priestesses who hit really light and give you plenty of chance to outheal them.&nbsp The oracle is the toughest of them, I found.&nbsp You'll want to save hammer for them, and if you're an engineer maybe bring along some bombs to help interrupt too, because the oracles heal alot.

You can find this gems in "The Zoram Strand", North West of Maestra's Post in Ashenvale, enter the ruins, swim a little under water, just before the entrance of the dungeon you'll find a few Blackfathom oracles or priestesses who willdrop the corrupted Kor Gem. Bring it back to Thundris.
