The Binding

Using the Runes of Summoning, summon and subdue a voidwalker, then return the Runes of Summoning to Carendin Halgar in the Magic Quarter of the Undercity.

Description

Surely you have seen the circle of summoning below us? Only there will you be able to draw forth an unbound voidwalker.

Using these runes, you will be able to draw it forth, and then you must dominate it through strength of arms and magic.

When it is subdued, it will be indentured to you. Come to me then, and I will elucidate the spell of summoning, so that it may serve you to whatever end you wish.

While standing in the circle on the purple symbols, ight click on the Runes of Summoning that Carendin Halgar put in your bag.&nbsp The Voidwalker appears and changes into an enemy.&nbsp Fight him with your best weapons until he dies.&nbsp Completing the quest, go back to Halgar who will give you a spell that is in your spell book.&nbsp Add your new Voidwalker to your "Action Bar" and summon.

It's actually right next to Carendin Halgar (the quest-giver). You will see a purple symbol on the ground. Go stand near it, and then right-click on the Runes of Summoning which are in your inventory.

Go down the ramp behind the questgiver.
Down 1 flight of stairs.
Turn right.
Down 1 flight of stairs.
Turn right, go through doorway on right.
Down 1 flight of stairs.
Turn left.
There is a doorway on the left in the middle of the short hallway.
Down 1 flight of stairs.
Purple symbol on floor at foot of stairs and Acolyte Porena.
Summon and defeat Voidwalker.
Reverse to get back.

The "catch" to completing this quest is that you have to kill the summoned Voidwalker with your Drain Soul spell. Summon the VW, wand him down to <55 life, then drain him. Do NOT back up out of the summoning rune or the nearby guards will kill him and you'll need to start over.

A small tip - the voidwalker is fearable.

Summon
Fear
Immolate and Curse
Shadowbolts (and make sure your imp shoots all the time)

It should be soloable problem free for newbies too - just follow the stepthrough guide above.

Seeker Thompson happened to be walking by when I summoned. He ran down to the summoning circle and killed my voidwalker in 2 hits. Since he caused more damage than I could, I didn't get credit for completing the quest! Keep an eye out for well-intentioned Seekers.

I just found out you can keep summoning him and killing them for exp, so I'll do that a few times then turn in the quest.

You can take quest at 10 and you going to the tower (thats left and down form brill open a box and go back and complet quest in uc and sumon a void valker and kill it and you got the spell sumon void valker

If you picked up the quest at Carendin Halgar, then all you have to do is to go down into the circle (shining in purple) where he stands next to, use the Runes of Summoning to summon a Voidwalker. When it appeared, then you must attack it with shadow bolt, immolate or things like these.
After you killed it, you completed the quest. Return to Carendin Halgar and ha gives you your award!

Note: you can use your imp at defeating the Voidwalker ;D

some kids dont listen.&nbsp after talking to the quest giver and giving him the item from the scarlets, go DOWNSTAIRS.. there will be a purple symbol on the floor.. use the rune and the voidwalker will spawn.. kill the voidwalker.. very simple

i fighted the voidwalker 3 times and still it didnt say voidwalker slain 1/1 .. then the fourth time i finished it with drain soul .. and when the voidwalker died while channeling it said that i had slain it and i turned in the quest.
So you have to kill the voidwalker while draining soul&nbsp

I go downstairs and starts doing the invocation but when its about to finish it says "failed" and the summon doesnt appear,am i doing anything wrong?

i know where the summon circle is and everything i go there and start summoning it.

but then i goes through it and says failed in grean O.o and then no voidwalker. ive done the thing 10x over and the same thing happens what is goin on?

Come on people dont some of you even read the text of quest's?&nbsp Most < read most > quests tell you excactly where you have to go and whom you talk to. i suggest getting a map mod easy to use easy to D/L

Be sure you try to summon void walker where you rercived quest at probably cant summon in uc if you got the quest in orgimmar

You don't farm soul shards, you cast the spell Drain Soul when the enemy is almost dead, and if the enemy dies while u are chanelling this spell, and you recieve XP, you get a soul shard :)

Do NOT use fear, or u gota way 3 min cool down before u start again, so many death guards and smashed my summoned void like killing a rat at lvl 5

just finished this quest last nght, and finally have a summon that looks like it can tank. beating the voidwalker wasnt hard, just cast curse of weaknes and DoT and it should go down before you die.
