Bring a Shadowstalker Scalp to Maurin Bonesplitter in Desolace.

Description

I believe I can find this demon lord given the proper reagents.

If he is indeed as powerful as I suspect, I will need items gathered from deadly creatures. But you act in the Warchief's name, so I am sure you will accept my task.

First, I will have to break any wards he has against scrying. For this, I will need the scalp from a satyr--but not any satyr. The scalp must come from a Hatefury shadowstalker.

Search for them among the ancient ruins in the northeast of Desolace.

I got the Scalp drop on the first kill. I was at 72.19 at a two hut camp with 2 shadowstalkers. First one dropped the scalp.

If you dont have a coords program, follow the road EAST out of Ghost Walker Post, then once you hit the fork, head NORTH all the way to Sargeron which is at the most North-eastern portion of the Desolace map.

Just remember that ONLY the Hatefury Shadowstalkers will drop the scalp, none of the other satyrs!

Been killing shadowstalkers for a while now (15 plus?) and not dropped yet.&nbsp Its not bugged its just luck.

Oh and for the fellow who loves to shout noobs, were talking about a drop for an ongoing quest, not the intial drop to start the quest.&nbsp Do learn to read, if not think.

For those who are wondering, you can find the Hatefury Shadowstalker wandering around Sargeron, a camp of ruins in the northeastern corner of the Desolace map.

Seemed as if there were only two actual Shadowstalkers in the whole place, and I had to wait for their respawns. Found one at 71,17 and another at 76,23. The scalp dropped off the second kill.

These mobs are around 75,20.
Knowing this item has a 4,5% drop chance, you can easily calculate it will take roughly 20 mobs to get this item. Although, I have experienced a much lower drop rate, and ending up killing around 50 for this item. Overall, nice XP reward from both the quest and all the mobs, and since I was playing a hunter, It wasn't too bad at all. And you are highly unlikely to kill 50 mobs for it. ;) Worth the effort.

More mobs if you go up to 72,13 there is a small valley the other side - 4/5 were there when I went. Dropped on the third. Watch out for the L37 Swoop.

Although it seems if you kill the others they respawn as something else? I killed a load of Tricksters and Rogues and they seemed to come back as Shadowstalkers. Probably quicker to just kill everything you see rather than run about looking for a specific type.

I can confirm it works for the Horde.

Don't expect to get the drop in just a few kills though, about 20 kills was required for me. A droprate around 5% is probably realistic.

i think blizzard changed the drop rate. the drop rate is very good for me. i ran in to sageron and killed 2 Shadowstalker. they both droped The scalp.
