Fill the Empty Blue Waterskin at the Ruins of Stardust in Ashenvale and return to Brine in the Barrens.

Description

Take this waterskin and head deep into the lush forest the night elves call Ashenvale. It is to the far north of the Barrens.

Once you've entered the forest, travel west. Along the mountains that separate Stonetalon and Ashenvale, and beyond Lake Mystral, you will find a holy place: the Ruins of Stardust. At the center of the lake you will find a small fountain.

Bring me a sample of the fountain's water. It will be the final component you'll need before I send you back to Islen.

The fountain is in the green lake directly south from astranaar.&nbsp Several level 22-25 elementals guard the fountain.&nbsp Stay on the main road until you turn towards astranaar, then head south / southeast.&nbsp We wound up dying on the swim there, then running back and rezzing on top of the founain.

The fountain is on an island in the middle of a lake. Mobs 23-34 surround the lake. What makes it difficult is the mobs have the Entangling Roots ability making fleeing harder. Oh yeah, and there's a '?? Elite' Wandering Protector walking around in the area too to watch out for.

I don't know if they changed this quest recently, but I just did it with a lvl 20 Shaman without too much trouble.

I'm only wearing greens, with a puny enhancement spec which is far from optimal at this level, so basically if I can do it, you can too. Don't give up, play to the best of your ability, use the totems you have, and a 23-24 mob won't be able to withstand the shocks that you do manage to get through (I had to kill a lvl 23, lvl 20 to get to the fountain, and a lvl 24 on my way out). Especially if you manage to throw yourself a heal every once in a while.

33,67 is confirmed. The socalled fountain is more of a birdbath with a blue glow at the center of the island.

The Fountain is on an island in the middle of a small, greenish lake. there are TONS of lvl 23-26 elementals surrounding it, but if you have l33t ninja kills like i did, you can sneak your way in and grab the sample. The fountain is in the center of a small circle of stonehenge-esqe stones.

Don't get too scared about the ?? Elite Wandering Protector, it walks all over ashenvale, wastingtape must had been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Just to clarify the location.&nbsp The fountain in NOT on the island in the middle of Mystral Lake.&nbsp Its location is West of Mystral Lake and straight south of Astranaar.&nbsp Sounds like people are doing what I did and looked in the middle of the lake for the fountain.&nbsp Hope this helps.

Ok here is a step by step for stupid pepole like me to find the fountain.

1)Top of barrens 47,3
2)Go straight tell you hit 67,57
3)make a left Towards astrannaar.
4)follow the path tell you hit 38,57 then make a left.
5)Keep following the path till you see a green lake with a island in the middle of the lake with the fountain 33,68

I did this quest at lvl 20 so its kinda tough. But this is the easiest way. run to the fountain and you will have like 3 of the monsters on you. die right next to the fouten. as a ghost walk to your body and get your empty bag ready befor you res. Then res then click the bag and fill it up. once its full you will most likey die again so just res by the ghost. then Hearthstone out of there.

Ok guys just follow the road, right before you get to Astranar at the bend ( 39,58 ) there is another road that branches off of it its not on the map but you will see it, follow it, when you get to the RUins of STardust ( 33,67 ) watch our for wandering forest guardian (60 ELite) after hes gone go to the ruins it will be surrounded by those swamp thing elementals, you WILL die, but after that ghost back to the ruins shoot out your STONECLAW TOTEM it will buy you some time, then right click your blue water skin, you should get the bag filled before you die with a little left over to run a bit, when you die res at spirit healer and hearth out, all done :) VERY EASY AT LEVEL 20!

It's interesting to note that the act of filling the waterskin is like casting a spell, not like interacting with an object. This means if you take damage from a monster while filling it, it will just delay the process, instead of interrupting it.

The ruins of stardust are pretty much directly west of mystral lake. Just take the path and you'll run right into them. I looked around forever on the island in mystral lake before i realized that it was the wrong one.&nbsp The fountain is on the island in the green lake to the west in the stardust ruins. Hope this helps!

Ok, i would suggest doing this part of the Q at about 23. 22 should be ok and 21 at a push. 20's, just wait a lvl or two.

Right, i wouldnt bother with the tunnel, its much easier just to run up the path in Ashenvale. Id suggest flying to Splintertree if youve got the path.
So, run up the path untill you get just about to the right of it (use the curser co-ords in the map) then, just run to the left. I would un-ghost wolf about now as you will probably pull. Oh and watch out for the 25 bear that wanders around, he nearly had me heh.
Any way, you should soon enough reach the lake and an island in the middle. watch out around here as the enemies hide in the water and are often casters.
Ok, the well is right in the middle, has four little posts around it and is glowing faintly green. Please note you have to actualy be TOUCHING it to get it, again, nearly got me here ^_^
Grab that and either Ghost Wolf back to Splintertree and fly or hearth.

Congrats, get back to brine and he will tell you to head off to the other dude.

ok guys this one had me for a while i gotta admit but here is what to do.

Fly to splinter tree post.&nbsp Easy

Follow the road towards astranaar and go south just before reaching the NE city.&nbsp

Now you are at a big lake with an island in the middle. This is not the island!&nbsp Go west now and follow the semi-trail semi-road.&nbsp You should pass some bears, ignore them if you can.

Now there is another lake, this is it! There will be tres everywhere, walkin trees. try an kill them, then go to the island an go up to bird bath and actually touch it, then right click the blue pouch and it'll fill up!

You don't need to do them right away, but work them in with your other quests.&nbsp I filled the first water skin before heading out to STM/Ashenvale at level 20.&nbsp Didn't turn in the second one until I came back from Hillsbrad at level 24.&nbsp Third one got done once I returned to Ashenvale at level 27.&nbsp The spells they give you aren't super critical, though it's nice to not have to lug too many useless trinkets around.

To all the above that says its not on the island .. Well it is. There are mobs around it and a lot of pillars and glowy bushes.
The fountain isnt very big and it doesnt appear as a fountain if u put ur mouse over it. You simply have to stand close to it and right click the bag to fill it.
I just did it ... and there is nothing around the lake but mountains so .. its ON the ISLAND ppl :)

I just did it. The cords ppl posted are correct. The eastiest way is ghost wolf directly to the fountain (ignor mobs even if they attack you),fill up water (cant be interupted :) die rezz and ghost wolf ur ass outta there. Thats how i did it no probs. BTW thisi works in patch 1.9

I feel that killing the mobs is the best way to go.&nbsp I'm on PvP and while the annoyance of high level alliance players is a pain, with ghost wolf and some good reflexes accesing the fountain is a snap.&nbsp Prefering the death rewarp is also a good path to go, but the prospect of getting no exp and walking bores me.&nbsp So be brave and try to wipe em out the first time and if you die do the origional plan.

The fountain is definatley on the Island, It's kind of hard to see, but it is under the dark colored set of titled ruins, all the other pieces of ruins are white in color, these are dak gray almost black, can't miss

follow the road until u reach just b4 astranaar...then look 2 ur left and follow a slightly hidden path...clear those tree looking guys...real easy to kill 1 at a time...then look 4 a little stand looking thing and rite clik on the container...
very easy to do...recommended u have ghost wolf...

This quest was nigh impossible to do as level 21, but in retrospect: you can run to the fountain, warstomp, fill it and die (or run away if you're very lucky)

Anyway, I killed a level 23 elemental on the side, ran to it and managed to fill it before dieing.

I think they made this quest easier, the elementals were only levels 22 and 23 for me. By the time I got there I was level 22 myself so it was a fairly easy fight when 1 on 1. Of course if you pull more than 1, you're mostly screwed.

I followed the same instructions as before, take the road west, and as it curves north, take a SW jog down a path, and your map should open up to show an island surrounded by water. The coords are correct. Fairly easy quest really.

Followed the road in ghost wolf form like the others suggested, no problems. Got the bag filled @ the fountain by killing a few mobs and ghost wolfing outta there, didn't die once! Good luck guys, you can definitely do this without having to die as long as you don't aggro more than one at a time!

I went there as a 22 shammy, and had no problem clearing out the elementals (if you just take them 1 at a time)...

BUT I CANT FIND THE FOUNTAIN

I walked all over the tiny island clicking the bag, but nothing clicked, I went underneath the little gazebo, went tby the small red-bottle thing, everywhere!

but nothing worked!

I did this one on level 20, and it was not very hard att all. You just have to make sure you fight them one at a time, and make the most of the totems you have.
