The Tome of Valor

Find Daphne Stilwell in Westfall.

Description

Good! Your lack of hesitation is a sure sign that you are prepared and eager to test yourself. So be it.

At the very ends of Westfall's Longshore, a small house overlooks the ocean. There, a couple lives, the Stilwells. Jordan is an incredible smith, and he's gone to Ironforge to meet with the dwarves for a while. But this has left Daphne, his wife, alone and unprotected.

Reports suggest that the Defias have all but taken over the area, Daphne may need some protection from the villains. Go there.

I was a lvl 20 dwarf paladin and was able to start the quest in stormwind. The NPC that started it was in the cathedral and was by the hallway entrance to the paladin trainer on the west side. I know a dwarf paladin recently that had to start the quest in Ironforge from the lone NPC on the second floor above the paladin trainer. After you obtain the quest head out to westfall and you can find Daphne Stilwell at 42,88 https://classicdb.ch/?npc=6182

I soloed this as a level 20 paladin. My gear isn't all that impressive a little shy of 1100 armor with Devotion Aura up. I'm using a quested 2-handed sword with 11.2 DPS.

The first wave was easy 3 level 17 mobs. I let her take one, while I killed the other two, then took hers out as well.

The second wave was a bit tougher, but it wasn't much of a problem. I basically just dropped Consecration and then healed while I meleed one.

The third wave was close. I had to bubble, heal, dump them off on her for a second, then drop another Consecration to get them back on me, and finally burned Lay on Hands when it was down to two left (was out of mana).

But, it _is_ soloable with less-than-twinked equipment.

I am a level 21 dranei paladin, I solo'd this quest no problem.

I should say that I had 1200ish armor, and a average weapon when doing this. I am also retribution spec. with seal of the crusader(awesome seal).

I cast blessing of wisdom on myself and blessing of power on her, I made sure I fought near her house and&nbsp casting consicration when they got close to draw aggro away from her. She melee attacked on of the mobs while I tanked the others, while taking note on my health and healing in between waves with flash of light.

This part went off without a hitch. I hope this helps.

I waited a good two hours for her last night and she never spawned. This morning however someone had failed and I was going to give up but as I started to leave she spawned again. They must have fixed her. She spawns in the orchard and roams around as if picking apples.
Three waves of three to four bandits rush down from the mine shaft area. The guy that failed before me said she was not shooting or helping him but I think its a range thing.. you cant shoot at close range. Intercept them up the pass a bit and she seems to help you.

Good Luck fellow warriors of the light!

If you get killed, just abandon the quest, then wait for her to appear in the garden again, then get the quest from her and try again.

Solo'd as a lvl 20 paladin.&nbsp now, I'm an awful player - my main is a 46 mage, so i'm still getting used to the whole 'up close and personal' thing, but I found this to be pretty easy.
I only had 1 mob of 6 to deal with, and the quest was over.&nbsp I did fail the first time, but I wasn't required to get another tome, but had to talk to Daphne again.
As for choosing shield vs. sense undead - I got both, so i don't know why the prev. poster had to choose...

I basically stayed close to Daphne so I could see her health, and whacked away .... easy stuff.

EASILY solod at 20. My equipment is pretty good though (1935 armor, 751hp, 627 mana, 95 attack rating, 272 attack power, 51.1DPS in Char window). I didn't even get below half mana. Not difficult. Shield is 13 block.

Either you're some kind of super twink, or you mistyped 20 instead of 30, or you're simply lying. The HP, Mana, and Attack rating seems believable.. but 51.1DPS and near 2k armor at level 20? ..

Anyway, it is soloable at level 20, had to use all 3 cooldowns. Did it on the 2nd try. Good luck.

for those of you, who are having trouble finding where to go, like i did.

go to the back entrance for DM(the extream SSW of the map). next to the entrance, there is a path to the south. the orchard is down there, and this is the path that the bad guys take also.

good luck!

Abandon the quest and wait for her to respawn and she'll be ready for your next attempt.&nbsp I got the defias before they could get down off the mountain, yet they still got her.&nbsp So the next time I just stood by her and healed her even if she didn't need it (didn't want to take the chance of failing it again) while a friend took out the defias.&nbsp Finished it no prob.

You get this quest at Level 20, and you want to begin working on it as soon as possible because the reward for completing the chain is Verigan's Fist, a 2-handed mace which does 25.6 DPS and has +6 Intellect, +7 Stamina, +12 Spirit--very nice pally toy at Level 20.

All of the parts of the quest are easy to do with the tiniest bit of help from a friend. My husband helped me with this leg of the quest when I was Level 20 and he was Level 17. I held aggro and tanked them while he DPSed my target (he's a fury spec), and I healed and drank like mad between sets. The bad guys didn't even get close to Daphne Stillwell.

Buy a little melon juice for this because it will replenish your mana that much faster, and bring a friend to help. Have your friend bandage himself between sets so you don't have to waste mana on extra healing. Also, stay as close to the house as possible so you have maximum time between sets. You'll be fine.

Those of yall having troubles with this it is possible at lvl 20/21 to solo.&nbsp Im a noob believe me.&nbsp I think this quest just basically wants you to get used to using your new skill.&nbsp The name of it slips my mind but its the one that is available at the 20/21 range.&nbsp It inflicts damage over every enemy around you until it burns out and when it does do it again.&nbsp The main problem is loosing mana real fast.&nbsp Get some potions or milk ready prior to it and youll be fine guys.&nbsp This new skill is in my opinion the best it constatly takes 8 damage from each enemy.&nbsp This is real usefull on mobs just make sure they are all in a consintrated area.

Did it at lvl 20 solo. 1st 2 waves were fairly easy. Last wave I had to throw down a bomb to make sure I had all of their attention. Was made easier by the fact that a priest had given me a +20 stamina buff.

i buffed her with might & put extra scroll buffs on her and me which helped. I also am a jc so I could use my statue stone healer while i was fighting instead of stopping to heal myself.
