Restoring the Necklace

Obtain a power source from the most powerful construct you can find in Uldaman, and deliver it to Talvash del Kissel in Ironforge.
Shattered Necklace Power Source

Description

You are going to need to find some "oomph" for the necklace, and Uldaman is probably the best place for it, actually. I guess there are a lot of constructs running around in there, yeah? Well, take out the biggest, baddest construct in that place and grab its power source! I am pretty sure I can fuse that source into the necklace.

Without that power source, fixing the necklace will be impossible. Come back to me here to Ironforge when you have it, and we'll get it all fixed up for you!

My group wiped twice on this before we hit on this strategy, maybe this advice will help you.&nbsp Remember, you need at least 3 people to channel the altar before you can wake the big boss (or the one in the room before this).

At first, the big boss is relatively easy to control.&nbsp Main tank can keep aggro, one or two DDers add boss damage, one or two DDers/offtanks take down the adds as they spawn, and a healer keeps everyone standing.&nbsp (The adds show as level 44 but they are easy to kill.)&nbsp Then the Stone Golem add spawns and all h*** breaks loose.&nbsp The Stone Golem is very hard to kill, plus the big boss is liable to toss a knockdown attack starting around this time which does huge damage.

My advice: Take your time and keep your powder dry (mana levels high etc.) until the Stone Golem spawns.&nbsp You should have no trouble killing the adds and whittling down the big boss before then.&nbsp When the Golem spawns, forget about him and concentrate on taking down the Big Boss immediately, using everything you have (the boss should be at low health by then).&nbsp You won't be able to kill the Stone Golem before the next Golem spawns, and pretty soon you'll be in a crowd of adds plus the boss and then you wipe.

I killed Boss (Archaedas) at the end of Instance, but couldn't finish [44]The Shattered Necklace.
Dont know why, maybe cos we where a raid group.

(2 hours later)
Killed him now without a Raidgroup and got my quest complete :)

If you're just going for the boss, go in the back door to the instance (mentioned above).&nbsp

Once you get to said boss and activate him, everyone focus on the boss.&nbsp Once he goes down, all the adds die as well.&nbsp Last time I did it using this method, we killed him before the Golems even added.

Call on a high-lvl guildie or two to help with this method, though.&nbsp Highly doubtful it would work with 5 players in the 40s.

I did it with a group of 4 people about lvl 45

The first try with everyone on the boss failed, too many mobs

We succeeded on the second try: the warrior against the boss, the paladin healing him, and others against mob and some curses on the boss

The mobs are incredibly easy to kill for their level there

Actually all omn him is, unless you're a party of lvl 60s, a good way to get a group wipe. The adds spawn in porportion to how fast you kill Archaedas, so if you're killing him slowly (perhapos with a Warlock) they will spawn slowly. Take them out, chip more health off him, take out the others, chip off more health, etc etc.

It's not as simple as everyone seems to think, but definatly possible.&nbsp We went in with myself, then a lvl 40 hunter, a lvl 50 Priest, 44 Rogue, and 43 Rogue and a 39 Warrior.&nbsp Took us two trys but finally got him down.&nbsp It's definatly best to focus on the Big Ugly.&nbsp Using AOE works best, but main focus is to keep agg off priest and let the Tank do the rest.&nbsp Most of the mob will focus on the priest so have two damage dealers on the big man, and rest keeping mob off of priest.&nbsp That seems to work the best.&nbsp Experience is good, but the necklace really isn't a good reason to do it.

Well, it wasn't for this quest because I forgot about the scry of whatever that lets you turn in quest from afar. My group was : Me(42 mage), 42 Lock, 42 rogue, 45 priest, 43 paly. First time we tried him, we got him to around 12% health. 2nd time we re-evaluated our strategy, and got him to 94hp (frustrating) 3rd time around we nailed him with only the lock dying.

Here's what we did: Mage took care of adds while rest of party took it to the boss, once he calls the 4 guys not on the wall, mage frost novas them and IAE's real fast (they die quick) then turns and puts full energy into boss. By the time he summons his elites he should be at about 25% hp, we just nailed away at him until he died. Great learning experience for me.

Just finished dungeon up with a 47 Hunter, 44 Druid, 43 Rogue, 42 Hunter, and 39 Priest. It was pretty easy, really. A few deaths, but mainly just from stupid mistakes like overpulls. The boss wasn't even that hard. Priest and Druid on healing, obviously. 42 Hunter on the adds. Rogue and 47 Hunter on boss. Took him down pretty easy. As a Rogue, I just kept my max Expose Armor on him, while Backstabbing him.

I did this (45 warrior) with 49 palla, another 48 palla, 48 priest and 46 druid, was easy, just disarm him couple times, and hold all aggro on me, lots of sunders and revenges. For the loads, kill only first non-elites, forget golems, they have s***load of armor, so just nuke the boss when he startto revive them (read:call). Should be easy, but reward is crap, cuz u ca get better neck few lvls further.

I finished this quest with me (43 pally), 43 warrior, 43 priest, 43 hunter and 50 mage... we would be the 43 party if it wasnt the mage... and we couldnt handle without him ehheheh.

Our strategy was everyone aiming at the big guy, aside the mage... mage was taking down the aids and sending a few bolts at the boss every other time, but when those elites broke loose, it was like hell! Everyone paniced and party wipe (wasnt expecting they to be that strong, we all were out of mana)... So we got back and we saved our mana till the grand finnalle! Got that! Instance was very challenger...

BTW, there is an awsome loot for pallies there, I got this (first giant boss... the one at hidden chamber): https://classicdb.ch/item=8449

This quest is an all around pain in the butt. The guys in this instance are way too hard for the level it says you need to be. I have died to the final boss in here twice and we had good groups both times.

To answer your question, yes the power source is dropped off of the fianl boss here who is surrended by 20 little golems and 4 meduim golems. Out group was my 48 hunter, 56 priest, 42 druid, 49 warrior, and a 51 mage. we got creamed.

If that is the reward for all of this i might just drop the quest now!

I died right before the party dropped the boss. When they rezed me, I was not able to get power source. This is the 2nd time I have helped kill him and both times it did not drop for me. When I try to loot him, the box comes up empty. Next time I will have enough healing potion with me, or maybe another healer.

Once you have the gems, stop the group in a safe spot and scry up Talvash RIGHT AWAY. I saved that for later and forgot all about it, once we killed Archaedas, I missed the chance to pick up the power source. Granted, you'll get another chance to pick up one of his blue items, but this instance has too many damn chain quests that make you go back again and again, I'm sick of this instance now. If I get a hunter's Stone on this last trip, that'll be awesome, but otherwise I'm Never Going Back!

The Power source does indeed drop off the boss, and he wasn't that hard. I just finished doing this, and we had a 50 paladin, 56 rogue, 51 druid, 41 rogue and 39 rogue.

Paladin Consecration took care of the mob, but he died pretty quickly.

The quest ends up giving you around 6k xp, or it did me at least

We did it !
Rogue 43 and 45, mage 45 druid 43 and me (pally 47). He's some tips :

1st, slowly kill the boss with the tank and a 2nd one (mage here). Let the others (2 rogues) take care of the littles one. They wake up almost one at a time. Healer does his job, no problem here.

2nd when the big guys wake up, everyone hit the boss and the big guys will die automaticly when the boss dies. I think it's the easiest way to do it.

Have fun...

Pally 46, Priest 48, Warlock 40, Hunter 43 and me Mage 44, at start of fight, all DPS on Boss, the Boss awakens Normal mobs that only have around 600hp, however 2 min or so into the fight, he awakens 2 elite stone golems, either you offtank them or let someone kite em, i managed to get aggro and just took the 2 for a little stroll while the rest of the group stayed on the boss, as soon as boss dies, ALL minions vanish even those that you are hitting.

Just a word of caution. When you kill Aecades, or whatever his name is, and then you die from his little minions, you wont be able to reenter the room to loot his corpse because it mystically locks and can't be reopened unless you talk to something INSIDE the locked room. 2 wasted hours.

Here is the map I used to find out where the final boss was (since I had no clue...heh):
Uldaman map

Uldaman is a pain in the butt if you don't have a good group. When I went for the hundredth time (this time, to get the power source) to Uldaman, I went as my lvl 44 warlock with a 54 paladin, 45 priest, 43 rogue, and 45 hunter. We just bypassed all the bosses (except for the Ancient Stone Keeper) to get to Archaedes (or however you spell his name). It took us nearly four hours to get through there...including mana breaks and all that.

When you get to the final boss, just keep your healers, well, healing and keep everything you have on the big guy. Once you get him killed, everything stops (even if they zapped them alive). I have to admit that I was killed during the final stage of it, but the boss was killed not long after I was. So...yeah. hehe.

Don't forget, that after you kill the boss to go into the chamber where the Discs are. Super easy quest with pretty good xp (I can't remember exactly how much I received, but it was fairly good).

I went into Uldaman three bars into 44 and came out with seven bars to go before 45. So, not too bad, eh?
