The Touch of Zanzil

Speak with Doc Mixilpixil in the cellar of the Barracks.
The following spell will be cast on you:
Touch of Zanzil

Description

It appears as if you've brought back more information than even I expected. This certainly is a strange turn of events, <name>.

A cure? Hrm... Go down to the cellar and speak with Doc Mixilpixil - he may be able to help.

First you talk to the Doctor. He's in the basement. He'll have you lay down so that he can draw and examine your blood. The command is /lay. After examining your blood and conferring with his "collegues" he'll send you out for some reagents to cure your 'itis'. Don't worry, all of the items can be found in Stormwind.

Simple Wildflowers can be found at the Fragrant Flowers (64,60) shop in the Canals of the Trade District. The price is 1 silver 80 copper.

Leaded Vial can be found at the Pestle's Apothecary (55,65) in the Trade District. They are sold in stacks of 5 for 1 silver 80 copper.

Bronze Tube can be found at the Engineering Supplier (55,7) in the Dwarven District.&nbsp **edit**&nbsp When I bought the Bronze Tube from him it was the last one in stock. I don't know how often he restocks or what quantities he usually has.

Spool of Light Chartreuse Thread can be found at the Finest Thread Shop (39,46) in Cathedral Square. It is on the floor.

This really is one of the easiest quests I've done. It took me longer to write this walkthrough than it did for me to finish the quest.

This wasn't too bad.. xp was great.
The bronze tube is up to you whether you have the eng. skill or not.
The flowers can be had at the flower shop on the canal between the Trade District and Old Town.&nbsp The Finest Thread was in Old Town but unoccupied.&nbsp Find the thread on the floor in front of the counter and loot it.

Be sure to stop at your favorite poison vendor on the way up from the basement )

Enjoy!

First and most importantly...before you type /lay make sure that you have selected the doc. I ran around looking for all the stuff I needed to be cured and when I came to the thread I could not click on it. So make sure THE DOC IS SELECTED BEFORE TYPING /LAY The Doc is found in the basement of the same building that Master mathias Shaw <Leader of the S1:7> is in. The stairs to the basement are under the stairs to the upstairs, Behind Jasper fel.
After doing this stuff you should be able to gather the other things needed. The thread is found in the empty shop located on the canals of the cathedral.

You can still accept/complete this quest even if you no longer have the debuff from the previous quest. You can also skip it altogether if you want, because you get the Poisons ability from the quest before this one, Klaven's Tower.

Leaded Vials can be bought from the Shady Dealer at 78,57 in Stormwind.
Simple Wildflowers are sold by Bernard Gump in Fragrant Flowers at 64,61 Stormwind.
Broze Tubes, if there are none on the auction house, are limited supply items from vendors at 55,10 in Dwarven District Stormwind, or 68,43 Tinkertown in Ironforge.
Spool of Light Chartreuse Silk Thread is a lootable object at 39,46. Probably not clickable until you're on the quest.

I made a complete circle through the city for the items.

1 spool light chartreuse silk thread - (40, 46) in a shop on the Cathedral side of the bridge between the Park and Cathedral. It is a small yellowish color bolt of thread on the ground next to the left wall and the counter. Price: Looted (free)

1 leaded vial - Alchemy Needs (44,77) Mage Quarter's Alchemy shop. Price: 1s for 5 vials

1 bronze tube - Swing by the AH or can make them with Engineering. Price: varies (got mine from Ah for 33s)

1 simple wildflower - Fragrant Flowers (65,60) Leave Trade District heading toward old town. Turn right and head to the last shop on the right. Price: 1s 80c

Then head back to the doc.

1150Exp for finishing the quest at level 20.

You don't need to do the quest to get rid of the disease. Get a Paladin or Shaman (or druid, or priest) to cure it for you or just use an anti-venom from the First-aid skill. Saves you the trouble.

Edit: Some people have said that it's worth doing the quest at lvl 20, as they've gotten 2k experience as a reward.

when you turn in the key and the book from the tower in the southeast corner of Westfall, it prompts on.

When you talk to Mixilpixil, type /lay and wait a few seconds. Then click on him again and except his quest. We walks over and talks to the statue at the wall, and then tells you what you need to collect. 1 leaded vial-herbalism/alchemy shop in Mage Quarters, 1 bundle (not bouquet) of wildflowers-fresh flowers shop in corner along canal, between old town and trade, 1 bronze tube, 1 spool light charteuse silk thread.

Sorry, I dunno where to get the last two!

The Bronze tube is off an Engineer

Apparently the silk is on the floor as you come over the bridge from the park to Cathedral Square - or in a shop right there. Sorry word of mouth only - I'm a couple of levels from doing this quest :)

Bizarrely, you can actually cure the poison if you have the anti-venom skill in first aid.

Only done this once recently on the alliance side, not 100% about the order of things but if i remember correctly;

1) you pickup the quest, /lay and he sticks you with the syringe.
2) He says "that's interesting" and then does nothing for a second
3) Says he needs to consult <name1> and <name2> which are the statue and squirrel in the corner, then goes and consults with them.
4) Comes back to his original spot and gives you part of the quest where you have to bring back the materials to be cured.

But... uhh... yea... i just asked a pally to get rid of it /gg

It isn't necessary to do this quest, but it's some easy XP if you do. I'll note that sometimes you can't find Bronze Tubes at the vendors, they're sold out. You can either wait for the vendors to get more, or you can usually find some bronze tubes on the Auction House. The prices will vary from server to server, so it might be better to just wait.

The "The Touch of Zanzil" reduces your effective stealth level by 10. Either do the quest or find a druid/pally to cure you.

if you choose not to do the quest, you can also just remove your gear and die, this removes the debuff as well (it otherwise lasts for a week)
