Trial of the Sea Lion

Find the Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility and the Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance. Speak with the residents of Moonglade to learn clues as to where these items may be located.

Form the Pendant of the Sea Lion from the two pendant halves. You need to be in proximity of the Shrine of Remulos to do this.

Bring the joined pendant to Dendrite Starblaze in the village of Nighthaven, Moonglade.
Pendant of the Sea Lion

Description

For the second trial, you'll need the two halves that make the Pendant of the Sea Lion. One half draws power from the agility of the sea lion aspect, gliding through water; the other draws power from the incredible endurance of the sea lion aspect. Druids draw on both these traits equally to embody the aspect of their aquatic form.

Speak with the locals of Moonglade to learn where the parts may lie, and bring both here to join them together. Once formed, take the pendant to Dendrite Starblaze.

In hopes of preventing people from experiencing the amout of frustration i did while doing these quests I decided to post the locations of the pendents.

1. Darkshore.&nbsp Go to where the river to the north (i don't remember its exact name...cliff something) empties into the ocean.&nbsp From that point swim north, almost to the uncharted waters.&nbsp Be careful as there are lvl 17-19 threshers out there.&nbsp Keep swimming north until you see a rock formation that looks kinda like a "v" with the bottom point below water.&nbsp It should also be the place where the threshers are congregated the most.&nbsp If you are in between the v and shore the chest you need is on the ocean floor on the other side of the v (the bottom part of the rock obscures this at first).&nbsp You'll have to kill at least a few threshers to get it.

2.&nbsp Westfall.&nbsp The second one is a looooong way away in Westfall (if you don't know how to get to westfall: take the boat in darkshore to methril harbour...go east through the wetlands and veer to the right whenever the road splits.&nbsp Keep going and going and going until finally you get to a series of tunnels in the south of the wetlands.&nbsp Then go all the way through to Dun Morah and then to Iron Forge (this trip is freaking long).&nbsp Take the Deep Run Tram to Stormwind and from storm wind go southwest until you get to westfall).&nbsp Once you get to Westfall go west until you get to some kind of quarry (I don't remember its name).&nbsp After you get to the quarry go out to sea (watching out for the murlocs).&nbsp You'll know your in the right place when underwater you see an anchor right on the edge of what seems like a bottomless cliff.&nbsp When you see the anchor swim down...don't worry when you get low on breath there is a place underwater you can get more breath.&nbsp The box is next to that place.&nbsp I just teleported back to moonglade after i got the pendent.

For you Horde Druids out there, ignore all the above information about Darkshore and Westfall.&nbsp If you speak the the flightmasters you'll get information on two places: North Tides Run (the north beach in Silverpine) and the Sludge Fen (in the northeast corner of the Barrens).

Sludge Fen is easy enough to find, just kill a few guys until you can get in the water safely.&nbsp You'll find the chest towards the middle of the mucky pond.

The one out at sea takes a bit longer.&nbsp Hopefully you have the Sepulcher as a flight path, because that will cut down on time significantly.&nbsp North of The Sepulcher is a beach with a large wreck on it.&nbsp Head straight west from the wreck on the beach until you hit the drop-off (right about when you hit the "Great Sea" zone).&nbsp Down at the bottom is a fissure where you can breathe, next to the fissure is the chest.&nbsp My coordinates showed 29,29 (titan panel) and I was in the Great Sea zone.

1st pendant is not hard to find. Should have no problems.

2nd Pendant took me a week, and I swore I would help future druids with this awful quest with simple and accurate directions.

Once you get to Westfall, through however means, make your way to Sentinel Hill. If this is your first trip, and you have to walk, then set an hour of your life aside and pack a lunch. It's a long trip. I totally recommend you stop in Ironforge, Stormwind and Sentinel Hill to get new flight paths from the Gryphon Masters so that you NEVER have to walk that trip again.

Side Note - Once in West Falls, and on your way to Sentinel Hill, you may notice Moonbrook - Don't go in! This town is nasty. Full of aggressive humanoids. Just stick to the paths as much as possible. You don't want to die in this area. This is not a friendly area and you may always be resurrecting into trouble.

Once in Sentinel Hill (which is friendly, by the way), make your way, however you want, to the ocean. Beware the trip, because there are beasts everywhere you go. So, wherever you end up on the beach, just make sure on your mini map that you are lined up directly across from Sentinel Hill and the Quarry.

Head out into the ocean. Again, watch for beasts. Swim straight out until you reach the end of the reef. If you go further, you will fatigue. Turn right, take a deep breath and swim down until you get a good view of the ocean floor. Continue swimming straight in this direction coming up for air, of course, until you see the anchor. (You will probably need to come up about 3 times for air before you can see the anchor.) It is embedded on the ocean floor, just on edge of the reef. Long and black, only half of it is visible.

Come up for air, then go down to anchor, there is a small ridge behind it on the deep side of the reef. You will have to swim very, very deep to get to this reef, but it will be fine. There is a bubbly fissure on the ridge that you can right click on to breathe in it's air. Open the chest next to the bubbly fissure and collect your pendant.

Teleport back and complete remaining tasks for quest.

Good luck, and you are gonna love your aquatic form. Much easier to swim as a sea lion!

As a Druid of the Horde you have to find the Hippogryph flight.
The Coords are: 44,45.

If you don't use Atlas then you'll find the Druid southeast of Remulus on a plattform with birds. It's a bit hard to find when you don't know which way you have to choose.

One part of the pendant you'll find in Tirisfal --> Use the Flying Ship in Orgrimmar to Undercity and walk to the Silverforest (Silberwald).

Tirisfal/Silverforest: The Coords are: 29,29 near the Boat in the Water.

When you have the one part of the pendant you have to go to the Waste Land. The best way is to start from Crossroads to the "Schlickermoor" (eng: Claymoor?)
The "Schlickermoor" is north from Crossroads.

The Coords are: 56,8 in the water.

Be really carefull. There is a beast in the water which protect a chest.
The best way to kill this beast with 16 level is to kill it from the barrel in the water so you can choose your magic. There are also many People of the Venture Company around. So you have to kill some of them.

And then go back to Thunder Bluff.
That's it.

Not very easy.
But when you finished this quest you'll feel better :)

Sorry for my bad english.

Darkshore:
Best way to go is to run along the beach north of Auberdine. When you get to the mouth of the Cliifspring river, begin to swim west into the ocean. It's a good distance away from land, and rather close to where the continent drops off. On the map, you will see a cluster of small islands near the top left corner of Darkshore in the oean. The area itself is surrounded by several Darkshore Threshers that are level 17-18. The chest is at the bottom of the ocean in between two tall sea mounds. You cannot see it when swimming westward, and will have to swim around to the west side of the mounds themsevles.

Westfall:
After making the long walk [or being ported to Stormwind], run west from Sentinel Hill to the ocean. When looking at the map of Westfall, it's almost half of the way down from the top left corner. Swim west-southwest. You may encounter a level 22-23 elite shark, but other than this the ocean is clear. Look for a large anchor embedded in the sand, and some strangekelp [requires herbalism]. When swimming in the direction of the anchor, you'll see that the land is dropping off into the deep ocean. Near the anchor, also note that the ground begins to slope down. Swim straight down the slope near the anchor, and you will see a pirate ship ahead of you [don't swim to it, you're likely to get fatigue] and a small leveled sand area where there's the chest and a bubbly fischer.

Teleport to Moonglade, and run to the shrine of Remulous just outside of Nighthaven. To combine, open your inventory and right click one of the two halves. Then speak with the NPC.

I read how difficult this quest is by so many posters. It may be that the difference of race makes it so.

HOWEVER

I found the first item in the lake like he says. I swam to the deepest part and found the box near the bubbling fissure.

Run to the 2 druid flight masters, they tell u where to go. First fly to thunderbluff, then to the Barrens. Go to Sludge Fen to the tower with ALL the venture co guys. Take out a few to make a direct path to lake. In the center, you should see the small lockbox and voila, first pendant.

To Silverpine:

Catch the Zepplin to go to Silverpine (by undercity). When you get off the zepp, run south west along that road. Keep running til you get to the tail-like valley/river from the Lake that looks like the claw. Follow that straight out to the ocean. Pass all the werewolves (u may have to get dirty and fight some tho'). You'll end up at the Docked and busted up ship. Swim straight out from the ship west. STRAIGHT WEST. You'll know you're going the right way if you see your dot on the map close to the T in Great. Once youre at the T you should be at or near the Fatigue area. If you hit fatigue swim back a little out of the deep water so you lose the fatigue bar. Once you get out of deep water, swim straight down and you'll see the bubbling fissure. The lockbox is right there. After getting the pendant, teleport to moonglade. BAM you can swim & breathe underwater -well soon after.

Ok, let me just be helpful here and make a nice summary of all the information everyone has already posted here and what exactly I went through for my quest. (So no one has to read the conflicting posts about the night elves' quest and think this is some uber-hard quest.)

1. The flightmasters will tell you where the pendants are. Talk to both of them.
2. Fly back to Thunder Bluff or the Crossroads. Crossroads preferably since you need to head to Ogrimmar. If you can fly to Ogrimmar, great, do so and skip number 3 and go to 4.
3. If you can only fly to Crossroads, take the north road out of Crossroads and take the right fork into Durotar. From there, follow the road to Ogrimmar.
4. Find the zeppelin platform and take a zeppelin to the Undercity. If you accidentally take the zeppelin to Grol'gom base camp in Stranglethorn Vale, just wait and the one to Undercity will come along.
5. Make your way into Undercity first before following the signs to Silverpine and unlock the flightpath, then head into Silverpine.
6. When in Silverpine, stop by the Seplucher and unlock the flightpath there, then proceed to North Tide's Run being weary of those Moonrage Glutton things.
7. Find the wreaked ship on the bank and swim west, keeping careful of those reef sharks.
8. If you go down around 29, 30 or so, you should be able to see the bubbly fissure right off the bat.
9. Grab the pendant and head back to Seplucher to fly back to Undercity.
10. Zeppelin back to Ogrimmar and fly into Crossroads.
11. Take a look at one of Anonymous's maps to figure out where the Slude Fen is, head there, and make your way into the water. The banks are guarded, but once you're actually in the water, it's easy enough to find the pendant. 56, 8 is the coordinate of the whole pool. Look for the bubbly fissure and on the other side of the wood fence thing next to it is the pendant.
12. Teleport back to the Moonglade and talk to Dendrite.
13. Fly back to Thunder Bluff and talk to the druid trainer.

And have fun being a sea cow! X3

the coordinates for the strange lock boxes are as follows:

Darkshore: 48,11 (watch for threshers lvl 17-18)

Westfall: 19,32 is the location for the anchor
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 17,32 is the location of the bubbly fissure and the strange lock box (there are lvl 22ish elite sand sharks in the area, i did not see any near this location when i got my half pendant) note: there is a wreackage over the cliff west of the strange lockbox, DO NOT attempt to check it out as it is in "dark waters", this will fitauge you.

Guys...you have no idea, this is actually sooo easy. Dont listen to any of the information up top about Darkshore and Westfall. When youre in Moonglade, find the flight masters and they basically tell you exactly where the pendants are. They'll tell you about two places: North Tide's Run and The Sludge Fen.
&nbsp &nbsp Sludge Fen is easy. Its in the North East corner of the Barrens. All you have to do is pull a couple guys and you're good, just go right into the water. You'll find the chest right about in the middle of the water.
&nbsp &nbsp The second one takes a little longer unfortunately, especially for Horde. Basically just take the zeppelin from Orgrammar to the UC (Under City) and go from there to the Sepulcher.
North of the Sepulcher is a beach with a large wreck on it (Yes, there are some beasts there but there arent that many, you can just go right on through.) Head STRAIGHT west from the wreck until you hit the dropoff into the Great Sea. Go straight down to the bottom and look around until you see a fissure where you'll be able to breathe. Right next to that is the chest. (For all of you with titan panel, its located at exactly 29.29)

I (like most other people who posted here) had a rough time with this one. These are my observations on this. Btw, I am an Elf so this will not apply to Tauren Druids.

Part 1. This starts in Auberdine. Take the road north till you come to the Cliffspring River. Follow the river out to the sea. Head north by northwest out into the ocean. I found myself trying to follow the land and ended up running into Murlocks. You should not come across any of them in this portion. There is a rock formation a little ways out that looks like crab pincers. I had to look twice to see it, but that's what they claim. Basically, you will see one larger rock formation jutting out of the water and beyond it a smaller one. The chest is on the far side of the formation right where the 2 rocks come together. There are threshers all around it, but I had no problems approaching along the surface. I ended up fighting 3 of them (separately) before I could get to the chest.

Step 2. You need to get to Westfall. I had bound in the inn in Sentinel Hill, so I teleported from water in step 1, but if you need to travel there its no biggee. If you know where this is, skip the next paragraph. If you need directions, read on.

Take the boat on the left side of the dock (if you are facing it from land). You end up in Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands. Make sure to talk to the griffin master. This is contested and the mobs are bigger than you can handle, but just be careful. The cemetery is in the middle of the region by the road. Follow the road which will start moving to the east, but will bend to the south before leaving the region. Your next land is Loch Modan. This is Alliance controlled. Thelsamar is the town in this region and has a griffin master, too. Dun Morogh is the next region and you will end up in Ironforge. Take the tram (located in the Gnome section) to Stormwind. From Stormwind, you make your way southwest to Westfall. Your base of operations in Westfall is Sentinel Hill to the south of the entrance.

There is a road in Westfall that circles the region. Take this road north, then west, then southwest. The road makes a sharp turn from southwest to southeast. At this point leave the road and head west. You will move down a gully to the beach. There are mobs all over this area, but keeping your eyes out you should be able to make it through with minimal fighting. If you are having trouble you can enter the beach from any number of other access points that are not as obvious, but this makes a good landmark for this quest.

Enter the water and move northwest until you get to the continental shelf. Follow this north. There are schools of reef sharks at 22 level, but they are obvious from afar. As long as you stay close to the surface you should see them long before they pose a threat. You are looking for a split in the shelf. This split looks like the ravine you followed down to the beach. By swimming down a bit, you should be able to make out the anchor in the sand. This is half buried and rests at the top of the ravine. Grab a fresh breath and swim down to it. Follow the ravine down to a bubbly fissure. If you stand in this, you get your breath back. Right next to the fissure is the chest you need.

Point of interest, there is a shipwreck off the continental shelf. If you have read the previous posts, this was where the chest used to be.

<<Aquatic Agility>>Do this one first. It's located at "THE SLUDGE FEN," which is located West of Orgrimmar in the Barrens. Box is in middle of pond by some bubbles.
<<Aquatic Endurance>> 29,29 The Great Sea (Silverpine) [North of The Sepulture, South of the mountains] You will see a ship in the ocean. Keep heading west into the water, it will drop VERY DEEP. You can't see them until you get deeper, but there's air bubbles you can breath right by the chest.

Go to Sludge fen in the Barrens and dive into the sludge and you will see a strange lock box open that and voila!...

Go to UnderCity then run to Silverpine forest along the mountain range to 29,29 (which is out in the middle of the sea)... dive down and you will see a bubbly fissure right next to that is the lock box so catch your breath by the fissure and open the box! you have all the time in the world...

You should get the one in silverpine forest first.
Those coords are: 29,29
Just swim down and there will be fresh air at the box.

The second one is in the Barrens at the Sludge Fen.
Just dive in the pool and you can easily find the chest. I believe there is also swimming an elite goo thingie.
Coords are: 56,8 or somewhere close.
And before I forget, this one will give you a debuff which will let you swim 50% slower.
I got this one first but I died because of lag so I lost the debuff.
But the swim in silverpine forest is long and deep.

BTW when i pictured the boat i thought boat = small boat no they are talking about a ship... its pretty big. you cant miss it.

Ok doing this for the Horde can be a real pain in the neck but that's what I'm here for. First off you dont have to talk to anyone to do this! So don't bother serching all over moonglade to find someone.

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility:
This one is in Sludge Fen in the north eastern barrens. Easy to see its a nasty green bog being messed up by the Venture Co mining Company. If you dive in to the nasty green water you find a chest in about the middle behind a wooden barricade just swim around and open it.

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance:
This one's a bit harder if you still in the barrens head east to ogrimar. Get the Zepplin in Orgimar and head to Under City. Once you get to Undercity follow the road south until your in silver pine (remember this cause its how you're gonna get a nice blue ring in the Shadow Fang Keep Instance) Continue on the road until you see the road that turns west. Take the road to the west to a village called Spulcher just before you go up the hill to spulcher head north toward the greatsea you should see a shipwreck on the coast swim striaght west of the wreck and then keep swiming untill you get almost to where you fatigue bar appers if the bar appers you've gone to far look aroung there should be a small chest near some sea bubbles (you can breath) there is you pendant. now head back to moonglade connect it near where you got the quest and your done.

I went out tonight thinking I'd get my water form and then go to bed feeling all good about myself for having done it. LMAO 3 hours later, exhausted and frustrated....still don't have it. My dead body was all over the ocean in Darkshore tonight. I died a grand total of 4 times, 3 of which occured at the wrong damn place! I'm not saying that the posts here are misleading or anything. I'm not even going to say the directions found in this thread weren't good. So please don't jump all over me for thinking I'm in any way saying that the time spent typing all of these guides out weren't helpful. It is hard to describe where things are in the game without using photos. I'm not sure anything I'm about to say will be anymore helpful to the next druid coming here looking for help. I just wanted to clarify a few points here in the event that anyone else is looking at things the way I did. I would like to help anyone avoid the death and carnage I endured here tonight.

I started this part of the quest with a lvl 16 Night Elf Druid. I had just hit lvl 16 actually, went to train and found the start of this quest in Darnassus.

1) These thrashers that everyone is referring to are actually anywhere between lvl 16 - 18 Elder Thrashers - OUCH! So maybe bring another druid with you that also needs to complete it (will be much easier). Maybe I'm a whimp or don't know how to play a druid correctly or whatever, but I was killed by these things 4 times and was very frustrated.

2) If you're brave enough to go alone, go naked. Leave your gear at the bank, in your bags, or wherever, just don't wear because it cost me 6 silver and 20 copper per time to fix my stuff. Take your staff or dagger or whatever you're using as a weapon and that's it. Swim in your underwear, trust me.

3)Ok now when you follow the river north of Auberdine (sp?), swim NORTH. I'm talking point the arrow that represents where you are straight at the N on the little map in the top right corner of your screen....NORTH. You'll see a claw like formation from the beach. It's 3 rocks - 2 in the back and one in the front - lvl 16 thrashers swimming under it.....this is not the right formation you are looking for. I died 3 out of 4 times swimming around these rocks thinking it was the rock formation everyone was talking about....nope...not it. Swim past that one and behind it, much further out into the ocean is the correct one. This rock formation is a little larger than the first one I had mistaken it for. There are 2 rocks that kind of come together in the center and you'll know it's the correct one when you see the lvl 18 elder thrashers swimming under it. There were a few lvl 16 ones, but most of the ones I had to tangle with were lvl 18.

I managed to swim toward the center. I killed 1 lvl 16 thrasher that jumped me while I was swimming to the correct formation. Once I arrived a lvl 18 thrasher welcomed me there, which I was able to barely survive through. Then I saw the box, saw another lvl 18 thrasher near the box. I knew full well it was going to jump on me if I tried to get the box so I opted to wait for mana and health to replenish before taking him on. I pulled him and I almost killed him, but didn't make it. That was death number 4 and the point where I said...ok let the angel in the graveyard resurrect you here, pay to get your stuff fixed and go back again with reinforcements. I did see the box though and it is right where the two rocks connect at the center, but you might not want to try to swim for the center. You may want to go around to the back of it and try that approach. My way obviously was lacking something :P I hope that might help someone. Also hope no one laughs too hard at me when I go swimming in my undies tomorrow.

The guidance for the Silverpine Forest portion thus far is relatively poor, at least in my opinion. So, to spare you fellow hordies some time, money, and effort, I'm going to simplify this.

The main issues that have been drastically exaggerated are the mobs and the need of water breathing potions. First off, the mobs there are in your level range, so nothing is going to one shot you. By this time you should have trained level 3 rejuvenation, which provides +29 health per tick, so all you have to do is keep swimming and shake the aggro. You can avoid 99% of the mobs by simply swimming on the surface of the water. That covers the mob scare.

As for the water help part. You don't need to waste any money on potions of water breathing or swimming speed. Just simply go to the 39,33 area and swim straight down. There is an oxygen fissure conveniently located right next to the strongbox you get the pendant half out of. This means you don't need to rush, especially considering I hadn't even hit the halfway mark on the breath meter.

There, very simple.

Just got the second half. One correction to the instructions given - the box is right next to the bubbly fissure so I was able to float there without losing breath, and open it. Maybe Blizzard moved it?

Ishal... Excellent post thx :)

While enduring almost an hour of swimming about looking 4 this qst(Admittedly killing for double xp :o) I was concerned about going too deep and dying from fatigue... Read your post while at work, immediately ran home, was completed in 1 (One)minute...Awesome! love the skill too.

ps: Heading Directly west of shipwreck, found 2nd half of pendant 2/3rds of way, between Shipwreck & "T" of Grea(T) just before fatigue kicks in!

Just got the first half of the pendent. I spent a lot of time looking around under the western part of the Sludge Fen. In fact, the box is in the eastern part, slightly east of the middle

Despite Sabelle's great description I still found myself looking way too far north.

The anchor is NW of where the quarry meets the beach. If you look at the map, the it is exactly halway along a line drawn between the small island west of the quarry, and the big 'compass' marked on the map.

When playing a Horde character for the first time, do not read the alliance thread for this quest. Do not travel to booty bay. Do not run up STV being a total agrro magnet to all the cats/apes. Do not finally make it to duskwood to be ganked by the alliance NPCs. And finally do not get to westfall, totally 0/0 geared up and finally get the half of the quest.

Do wonder why its so hard for horde then read the correct horde version of the quest :)
