Blisters on The Land

Kill 8 Fen Creepers, then return to Rethiel the Greenwarden in the Wetlands.
  •
Fen Creeper slain (8)

Description

I do not know why, but a festering grows within the Wetlands. Fen Creepers have risen. They are diseased, fevered blisters on the land, and for the fever to break they must be dispatched and allowed to settle back into the marshes.

The Fen Creepers shamble amidst the waterways of the Wetlands.

Since these things are invisible, thought I would help give some of the locations of the Fen Creepers that I found. If you have Cosmos you can use these coordinates. (20,28), (20,24), (48,37), (47,32) (46,34),(47,36), (54,37), (56,46), (55,46), (51,32), (37,33). Hope this helps and good luck hunting.

The place around broken molen (Sundown Marsh, loc 20,30) has good chance for some Fen Creepers.

In the east (Ironbeard's Tomb) is too dangerous with another visible enemies, west place is more safe with only crocolisks's.

I just did this quest today, and these Fen Creepers are found in the water channels of the Wetlands between The Sundown Marsh (where murlocs/giant crocolisks are) and The Green Belt (the area with the Greenwarden and eastward). I found the greater number of these in the shallow pool areas of the water channels.

Looking at this from somewhat of an RP perspective (I'm on Silver Hand), the end rewards are disappointing. If any class is going to help 'preserve the balance', it'll be druids and hunters, yet the items doled out from this end quest are almost entirely useless to either class.

Admittedly, the xp reward is pretty nice.

Easy to find if you follow the tributaries north of murlocs around giant crocolisks.&nbsp I dreaded this quest, but buckled down and did it in 10 (at lvl 28.)

By far one of the most annoying quests. Since these are STEALTHED you need to walk up and down the little creeks to find them. Good luck if someone else is doing the quest since you have no idea which area was cleared and which wasn't.

A trick is to listen to that stealthing sound when looking for them. Sometimes they're quite difficult to distinguish with the background and water.

... because neither track elemental nor track hidden found the Creepers. So, as merak mentions, I ended up trudging through the streams in the area's north of the merloc and furbolg camps looking for them.

It helps a lot to have sound on -- when you get close to a creeper you hear a distinctive sound, so you know one is nearby even if you don't immediately see it.

Its not as hard as people say,

Yes i know alot of you are thinking that im lieing, but seriously it took me about 7 mins.

Just make sure you walk in the water (Doesnt have to be deep) even if its only upto your neck, keep walking, and they will appear. =)

Hope my advice was helpful.

Never get off the water walkways and everytime you come to a pool swim down underneath.&nbsp 90% of the time I dipped down to look there was a creeper at the bottom of the pool, I would have missed it otherwise.&nbsp This took me about 10 minutes...only because it took me about 3 minutes to realize I should have been doing that.&nbsp Oh, and if you run into a croc just kill it and realize you are lvling yourself by grinding as you quest.&nbsp It's all just a game afterall.

I don't know why everyone says this quest is hard, it only takes about 5-10 minutes to do this quest. A tip is to go to all the little ponds, rather then just walking along all the streams.

Search all the pools south to south west of Iron Beard's Tomb, I found some in pools arund 37,33 and 35,34. That's the general area.

The trick is to track elementals and tap on tab as you near the deeper pools. They'll appear.

Up to my level 25 life this is probably the hardest quest i have had to do with all the tightly packed mobs, you aggro one and u draw a croc with it
or u try to fight a lord which hit hard as hell and look, here comes a giant crco good game you even with track beast on i still somehow aggroed a croc.

Took me an hour or better to do this the last time, about 2 months ago.

This time, it seems like they buffed the spawn percentage or something. It seemed like every time i tried to run away from the fenrunners, i ran into one of these creepers so when i finally picked up this quest, i just walked around the areas where it looked like i was in danger of aggroing the fenrunners. Had it done inside of 20 min.

coincidentally, im also a miner and 100% of the copper veins I find are guarded by one of these guys.

I ran around Sundown Marsh and had no trouble finding any. They spawn pretty much in every tiny lake and stream in the area. You can also knock out Apprentice's Duty with this quest as well if you go there since lot's of Giant Crocolisks spawn there as well. Usually you can tell one is around when there are absolutely no monsters anywhere in the area, which is unsusual so far away from a path. Thats when you know a cloaked Fen is in the area.

The best way to find them is to enter the small river at 18, 24 (little west from the shipwreck) and then walk along the water. They are always in the water and as you approach them you will be able to see them. Just don't walk too fast. Keep walking along the little rivers around till you have killed them all.

While doing this quest do also Apprentice Duties. Giant crocs are at the same place than Fens.

In spite of other hints, I just felt like running through the brooks and lakes and found 12 Fen Creepers to kill. It took me about 30 minutes, but to be honest, a lot of crocs also lost their hide during my walk -) The reward (Fen Keeper Robe) is nice.

Ok, other than being a fairly annoying and time consuming quest, I found most of the Fen Creeper by the encampments of Mosshides and in The Green Belt but you have to wary of not only the Crocolisks but all the Mosshides.

The Fen Creepers (levels 26 & 27) are rarely found near the big swamp thing you get the mission from.
It's best to go to the swamp area by the ghost ships to the west.
It's also handy to do the crocolisk missions, from the tanner in the west end of the city, at the same time since they are in abundance nearby.
As a previous poster mentioned, sound is very important in this one in finding them.
The Creepers travel invisibly in the swamps until you're very close to them.
Note: Fen Creepers should not be confused with Fen Runners, who ARE visible from a distance and won't count as kills toward this mission.

This quest is another horrible one from Rethiel the Greenwarden... The Fen Creepers are damn hard to find and spawn too rarely I spent an hour trudging up and down the streams trying to find them. Two tips:

Listen for the "de-cloak" sound, a deep wooomp - means one is close by (though you may not see him)

If you run into Fen Dwellers (lower level, do not hide) you are too far south.

If you are a human - use your perception ability. It apparently makes a world of difference in range of spotting these mobs. I found one about every other time I fired up this ability. It lasts for 20 secs and with a cooldown of 3 mins... Usually I couldn't care less about the ability, but here it turned out to help a lot.

At 63, 56 on the map you have 3-4 fenrunners to kill, and just west there are 2-3 fenrunner just outside of the camp. It took me 25 minutes( i was also killing crocolisk and mongril between spawns.) the fenrunners will take off at 10% but for anyone with any kind of ranged attack that's easily taken care of.
