Mithril Bar (40)

Description

Many blacksmiths believe that mining and smithing are separate, independent jobs; but can there be blacksmithing without mining? Ah ha -- it is an impossibility! The accomplished blacksmith must also be an accomplished miner.

Show Galvan that you are capable, <name>. Bring me forty bars of iron and forty bars of mithril. For this, Galvan will teach you the ways of the ornate mithril pants!

Ok, I have started this adventure @ level 44.
I went to Hank the Hammer in SW, He is standing next to the gal vender on right. HANK SHOULD HAVE A QUESTION MARK ABOVE HIS HEAD.&nbsp The first part of this quest, Hank asks you to make 6 Golden Bracers in trad for a tirnket for the BS of BB.. This was easy.(make 6 golden bracers and speak to hank again. He then send you to BB to see the black smith who will then send you to see Galvan the Ancient in Stranglethorn at LOC 50.22

Galvan then has 3 quests to accept
1) Smelt On, Smelt Off&nbsp = 40 Mithril & 40 Iron bars
2) The Art of the Imbue = 40 Mithril Bars & 4 Citrines
3) The Great Silver Deceiver = 40 Mithril Bars & 5 Truesilver Bars

Goal: to hand in all at once!

Gathering the nessasary mats for these 3 quest was not hard but definitly time consuming AND LONG.

I now need an aditional 40 bars of mithril to Finally finsh the quest tonight on ULDAMAN server to get my Epic Hammer.
Galvan also rewards you with plans to make soime pretty neat armor.

I will keep you posted on my results

I got this quest around lvl 42, after doing "The Old Ways" Blacksmithing quest. You get a mithril medal you have to take to this guy.

You can pick up "The Old Ways" by talking to one of the smiths in Org, its the one next to the door to the artisan trainer.

Requires an obscene amount of mithril. As such it will take you quite a while to actually complete, so don't get discouraged and be patient.

The Arathi Highlands and Hillsgard have a few mithril spots spawn and
the critters are about l39 max.&nbsp I've mined here with an l40 pally and
not been killed too many times.&nbsp The best spots to look so far were
Darrow Hill in Hillsguard, outside of Stromgarde, and Drywhisker gorge
(in the cave)

The items needed for "Way of the armorsmith" are:
Ornate Mithril Helm, Ornate Mithril Boots, and Ornate Mithril Breastplate.
Yet the pat rewards for the Mithril Order quests are as follows: "Smelt On, Smelt Off"-Plans: Ornate Mithril Pants, "Art of the Imbue"-Ornate Mithril Shoulder, "The Great Silver Deciever"- Ornate Mithril Gloves.
Are there quests after these that give Plans: Ornate Mithril Helm, Plans: Ornate Mithril Breastplate, and Plans: Ornate Mithril Boots?

In order to get the quest you first have to complete a quest to make 6 Golden Scale Bracers which can be found in Dwarven Dist in SW. Once you complete that, then you go to BB and complete the quest to search for Galvan, then go to Galvan to get the quest.

I've found that if you sit on this quest while doing other blacksmithing quests (especially Way of the Weaponsmith) and display the "requirements" up in the corner, it's a convenient way to track how many iron and mithril bars you have for the other quests, up to 40, which should be plenty, unless you're Miner Minerson.

Tanaris is the best place to find it... just go along the southern ring of the map... lvl 45 should be more than enough to get you through alive, especially if you have a mount. Iron can be found in Badlands if you need it.

I've almost done this quest chain completely at lvl 42, iv mined my mithril at the southern ring of tanaris, died quite alot of times, but worth it, reward of the quest chain is a nice trinket wich summons a 1hhammer 36dps for one hour, only bad thing is that the trinket cooldown is 3hours! thetruesilver was the hardest for me, and iron i still need to find, dont know where tho, will just look around

OHHHH NOOOOOO.

Had the Q, but abb. it in need of space in my
Q-Log. I thought that it would be a while before I could come up with that amount of Mithril/Iron.
On my return to Galvan I found that the Q was no longer available......
So, what to do now ?
AH might have a pair of pants or even the plans..
I dropped anothe Q from Galvan as well. All about large amounts of Mithril/Iron which should give Plans for stuff used in follow up's !
I just hate those Q that gives you zerro opotunity

There is alot of debate over where mithril is best mined, but if i were to reccomend where i mine it i would definately say the hinterlands. Run along the south mountain range at quiet times of the day, then make sure to check skull rock and some of the troll villages. There should be plenty of mithril about so long as nobody else is grinding for it at the same time as you. This is how i gather the materials for truesilver champions.
