Description

Around these parts I am known as the Mithril Kid. I supply ornate mithril to adventurers from around the world.

<Trenton whispers.>

Little do they know that I do not know the technique to fashion ornate mithril gloves. Shhhh! This will be our little secret.

Teach me the technique to create ornate mithril gloves, <name>, and in exchange, I will show you the resultant of the culmination of my training under Galvan: the ornate mithril breastplate.

Since you technically need his recipes to complete these quests, it's fair to call his quests a prereq.

Nevertheless, carefully consider the cost of all three quests in this line and check the AH for which path is cheaper (buying the armor vs making the armor yourself)

All told you need:

Mithril Coif x2
Ornate Mithril Shoulder
Heavy Mithril Breastplate x2
Ornate Mithril Gloves
Heavy Mithril Boots x2
Ornate Mithril Pants

To make all the armor yourself you need the total ingredients listed here:

Mithril Bar x106
Truesilver Bar x 3
Mageweave Cloth x 18
Thick Leather x 14
Solid Grinding Stone x 3

I strongly suggest you do the math for your realm's AH prices. Often it is significantly cheaper to buy the armor pieces than to make it yourself.

Go to SW there you will find a guy in the Dwarven Section by the forge. He gives you a quest to make gold scale bracers or something. After you complete this he will give you an insignia to take to Hank of the Mithril order outside of the blacksmith shop in BB. When you talk to him he will give you directions to see Galvan the Ancient who is located in the jungle north of the Ogre mound. Galvan will give you 3 quests, each of which will require 40 mithril bars. You end needing 120 mithril bars, 40 iron&nbsp bars, 4 citrine, 8 truesilver. You end up getting directions for ornate mithril items which you need for the Art of the Armorsmith.

YES! after you complete all these long boring material consuming quests you will be able to craft blue ad purple(i think) armour!

Up at the top click the link that says Blacksmithing and it shows you all the Blacksmithing skill quests.

This page also shows you that prior to this level 45 quest, there is a level 40 quest starting in Stormwind (hence the reason darkvigilance said 'go to SW' not 'go to the SW' before he started talking about the Dwarven section of the city...)

The starting quest is The Origins of Smithing. Following the 'Starts at' and 'Ends at' links you can see the entire progression, and you would not have to wait, hoping for a response to this thread which repeats, uhhh, pretty much everything that darkvigilance said.

Went to SW, then BB (galvin the ancient), and then over to gadjet. Couldnt figure out why i couldnt make some of the things for the fella in gadjet. U have to have blacksmithing 235 and to get that u have to go to the master blacksmither in bb. Was friendly and still had to pay 5g.
Man this has been an expensive quest

Where do you get the Heavy Mithril Breastplate plans from? And what level BS'ing do you need to make them? Is it off of a trainer?
