Tarrel Rockweaver wants you to travel to the Excavation Site and contact Merrin Rockweaver.

Description

Oh my, you must be the scout Longbraid said he would send! You cannot imagine how worried I have been.

My wife, Merrin, has been sending me letters each week for the past month. She is part of the Whelgar Excavation team. But it has been nearly two weeks since her last correspondence. Surely something is wrong!

Longbraid said that he would send a scout to check up on things if we did not hear from the team soon. I assume that scout is you, <name>. Find Merrin at the excavation site to the east!

Wetlands 34, 41 is the entrance to the Excavation site.&nbsp You can see a ramp up the hill from here.&nbsp Take it.&nbsp Go into cave.&nbsp Talk some and go back to Menthol Harbor for reward.

AT lvl 21 Mage:
Got 975 xp for finding the lady.
Got 490 xp for taking here note back to Menthol.

Level 1 could do this quest.

Yeah, there's a lot of faulty info in this thread. Seems some people have confused East with West, or perhaps are just jerks trying to get people killed.

Here's the correct info, combining the 3 correct bits of info from various posts here into one.

-The entrance to the excavation site is at 34,41.

-Once at the entrance, go up the ramp on the WEST side, or to your left as you enter.

-Merrin is at 38,52 in a cave at the top of the ramp.&nbsp Level 22-23ish raptors may be guarding the ramp.

Found Merrin at 38.8, 52.3 in the cave at the top of the hill
stay to the left .. up the hill ... as you enter the camp area
had to kill one small 22 lvl raptor ....

Just uploaded a screenshot of where the quest ends. To get to the cave, head south from the road and when your screen flashes "Discovered Whelgar Excavation Site," look to your left (East). You should see a steep path running straight up the mountain. Follow that path up -- kill the raptor that gets in your way -- and cross a small bridge and the cave you need to get to should be right in front of you.

Also, in front of the cave is another dwarf who will give you the quest "Ormer's Revenge" (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=294).

i tried the coordinates that u guys posted, and all of then were incorrect, except for the one telling u where the excavation starts.

merrin is at 38, 52. u need to go up a ramp on the western part of the site.

as you enter ramp look to left {WEST } you will see a path leading up -follow said path and the cave is ahead - couple Quest for area also there.
Dont got o the right ,into the Excavation area till you get Quests and finish first part of quest.

Basically just go to the excavation site entrance(36,42). Bear left and then go up the huge hill, he's just a few feet into the cave. at lvl 28 i receive 900xp. IMO it was worth it.

excavation site is on cosmos loc 34,45.
tarrel is in a cave up the hill, if u enter excavation site from north you see a path on your left side leading up the mountain hill, on top of it is a bridge then a little cave, no mobs on this path. he is at 38,41

This quest is quite easy especially if there are other people around, up can run right up and your're done. I ran right up and back down in 30 seconds.
If no one has been there in awhile there may be about 3 raptors on the path up, i think around lvl 25-26, maybe a little lower

34,41 is correct for the entrance to the excavation site , and if you look at your map you are entering it from the NORTH so in turn your left with north being to your back, would make your left side EAST&nbsp and that is the direction you want to go ignore the rest of the exacavation site, as soon as you get the little yellow words saying "you have discovered Excavation site" or what ever, look to your left,, Being true EAST on the map follow the lil broken down trail up and to the right and follow it to the cave , you may run into 1-3 raptors along the trail.You can then grab two more quests for that area before you head back to the harbour if you choose. Hope that clears everything up for those to follow :D

well you follow the road out of the town and when you come across a man with a cart and a torch in his hand you go right towards the rock face. there should be some raptors around and an opening in the face of the rocks. you should see a little 'sign' that has a mining pick upon it relitively close to the raptors. and ther is the mining area.

1.&nbsp I found the site by going to the Angerfang encampment.&nbsp Instead of going towards the mobs, I stayed right and took a dirt path up the mountain.&nbsp The kills are easy as&nbsp you can fight one at a time.&nbsp The path brings you up the mountain and on the other side of a peak is the site, with a bunch of available quests (Omar Ironbraid outside the cave) and the Tarrel inside the cave.&nbsp Solo'd as Level 29 Warlock.
2.&nbsp Once I was there I found an easier path into the site, next to the road, near one of the ponds.&nbsp Dirt path, hard to see, but with map should be findable.

Just don't go too far west.&nbsp I completed this quest without any trouble from the giant crocs.&nbsp If you see them, just head back east.&nbsp i.e. Stay away from the coastline.

I searched all over the excavation site, couldn't find him. Didn't know which hill I was suppose to go up seeing as I don't know which way you came in from.

Listed as a Level 24 quest. We had 3 lvl 23 characters (mind you, 2 druid's and a priest). We died often, and we would have died more had the Level 33 players not been around to save our skins...:-)

It was easy to get to Merrin, there is a steep trail running up the East wall of the excavation site, just run up here and she is at the top. Can also pick up the quests: Ormar's Revenge and Uncovering the Past here. Solo'd as a lvl 24 rogue, didn't use stealth, just walked right in.

Just because this was probably the most frustrating quest i've ever encountered,
I've compiled a simple map to help noobs out.
So when you go through the entrance, hug the left hill and go up the giant ramp. I don't know what people are talking about when they say they had to fight 2 level 23 raptors, but be prepared

The moob you have to complete the quest is actually at 38 , 52 in a cave and not at 34 , 45 .. People if you want to help other that need help dont give wrong LOC. !
