Retrieve Tundra MacGrann's dried meats from the stolen meat locker in Old Icebeard's cave.

Description

I had a month's worth of dried meats salted and locked away for the cold season. Kept it locked so the bears wouldn't get it! But while I was off hunting deer, that beast, Old Icebeard, made off with the meat locker. He won't be able to smash through that Thorium though. But I'll starve if I can't get my meats back.

You seem a bit more stealthy than me. Perhaps you can retrieve my stash? I'll never make it in and out of that cave fast enough with this bum leg of mine.

You don't have to fight Old Icebeard to complete this quest so you can easily solo it as soon as you can pick it up.

Old Icebeard periodicly patrols the area, just wait for him to leave the cave and you can run in, loot the chest, and run out before he even notices you.

To get to MacGrann: South of ICEFLOW LAKE, there are two parallel ridges (the lower has a cave named "Grizzled Den"). go between the ridges and there should be a way to get up to MacGrann (he's on the ridge facing iceflow lake,&nbsp coord: 34, 52).&nbsp

To Get his meat: Just behind MacGrann is another cave (GRIZZLED DEN - coord: 37,54). If you time it right, you can run in the cave and open and get the meat. run like hell and if u die, you can always rez and run again.

I was a lvl 12 mage when i did this quest, no issues.

The chest is in the cave guarded by Old Icebeard at 38,54. He's a level 11 elite with about 650 HP.

Directly outside of the cave Icebeard is in, there are 2 bloody corpse piles.&nbsp If you look up from there, you should see a wooden platform with a flag.&nbsp Go to the right of the flag and up and you'll go between 2 hills and to the cave the guy is standing in.

Coordinates of the start of the path are 36,52

If you play on Dragonblight and need help finding the place, send a whisper to Celak.&nbsp I'm on fairly often and I'll lead you to the place.

the cave is in chilly breeze valley. Look for dead meat and bones and blood on the ground. From the cave walk out and go straight up the mountain in front of you. At the top turn left he is right there.

Tundra cannot be reached from the lake side.

You have to scale the SouthEast side of the ridge (see the link for Tundra) in order to get to him.

Ice Beard is found in or walking around (be careful) the cave that is also in that area.

If you are lucky and he is outside of the cave, you may not even need to fight him.

He occasionally leaves his cave for a walk to the north, so if you hide up the side of the hill and wait you can complete this at low level.

To get to this guy, walk on the east side of the mountain until you see a wooden platform with a flag on it. From there, just follow the snow right, then left.

MacGrann is in a cave on the top of the mountain opposite the valley where IceBeard is. Just head straight out from Old Ice's cave and go straight up the mountain. You'll pass the platform with the banner a little ways up the mountain.

How to complete (Quest #312):

accept quest /way 34,6, 51,6
enter the cave /way 37,88, 53,75
kill (NPC #1271) or wait for him to leave the cave and you can run in, loot the chest, and run out before he even notices you. Chest location: /way 38,51, 54,00

You don't have to kill him to complete the quest. All you have to do is open the locker.

Rogues can sap.
Warlocks can fear and send pet. (Capable of killing)
Hunters can send pet. (Also capable of killing)
Mages can sheep.
Priests, Warriors, and Paladins can QQ (Or find one of the above classes).

1) ask your imp to charge
2) spam fear on the guard
3) if successed, rush into the cave and press Left-shift and click on the chest
4) loot the meat and rush out of the cave toowards the quest giver
5) get your rewards

You go to the spot on the map where there's a cave under the label 'chill breeze valley' and when you get to the mountain, you follow a faint set of tracks until you get to him. On a further note, where's Old Icebeard's cave?

He's on a ledge, you have to go thru Chill Breeze Valley, and take a turn to go up. He is in a cave on a ledge overlooking Iceflow Lake.

Anyone of any level should be able solo this easily as Icebeard leaves his cave and wanders off to the north in regular intervals. Just keep in mind that he will come running back as soon as you open the box. So wait until he is far enough away, grab the stuff and run out of the cave and to the south presto.

Having said that, I also didn't have much trouble killing him with my level 11 Warrior. Just make sure you're at full rage (kill some boars), have a Minor Healing Potion on you and use all your abilities to their full extent. I guess gear is also a factor. Mine was average.

As a lvl 10 rogue, this quest is really easy. At 10 you learn sap, which will stun Icebeard. By the time he revives, you will already be on your way to Tundra, and he will not bother chasing you.

Good advice to just wait until he leaves the cave, but he'll hustle back as soon as you open the locker. I was a level 8 rogue and just hit Evasion and had to down one minor healing potion to get away. He hit me pretty hard the one time he connected, half my health gone in one smack. Worthless rewards for a rogue but good rep and xp.

soloed it as a lvl 7 preist. Got the quest, ran in, died, waited till he patted out. Opened the case, Power Word Sheild and ran like the %^&*ens.

This was a very easy quest as Night Elf. I parked in the corner were the Copper nade spawn was to the right from the cave and simply used Shadowmeld and waited him to come out. While he ran out i runed to the chest that is to the left when u enter the cave and i ran to same corner and Shadowmelded again until he was in the cave again. But try be quick because after he have patrolled the outside he runs to the cave very quickly so do this with auto-loot or something of the other loot options.
