Betrayed

Destroy the arcane focusing crystal tied to Magus Rimtori and then slay her. Afterwards, take the Head of Magus Rimtori to Ag'tor Bloodfist in Azshara.

Description

A few more moments of thought brings a few ideas to mind, one of which brings a smile to your face: perhaps destroying the crystals would upset the blood elf responsible for the slaughter of so many orcs and the betrayal of Belgrom?

You continue to decipher more of the script and pictures and realize that one of the crystals is tied to the creator of the circle--the others are tied to something far more sinister.

You close the book and begin to decide which crystal to destroy.

The crystal she's tied to is random so posting which one popped Magus for you wont help anyone.

When you spawn the guard, move him away from the gazebo so that she won't aggro you while you're still fighting the guard. She's not difficult, but if you're a few levels below it might be easier to rest after the guard is dead.

Once you read the book you will notice 3 crystals. When I destroyed the first two an infernal appeared each time. On the 3rd crystal I destroyed a Bloodelf Gaurd appeared and just before you kill him he will call for Magus to help. She will appear then kill her and loot the head. You will have to turn in the quest back at the Flight Path in Azshara. This will lead to the final part of the chain.

Just a tip before starting this quest: prepare yourself for the worst. Just had to bash through 11 infernals before the guard spawned, and I'm sure that, seeing as it is random, it can be even more...

owh well, she was so polite to drop 2 runecloth for my efforts, so she wasn't all bad I suppose

The worst part is it takes 60s or so for the crystals to respawn... lots of waiting every time you get the infernals.

This quest is easily solo'd even when it comes up as too high level for you, especially if you can interrupt spellcasting. I killed her at 51 as a bloodelf rogue with very little trouble, and the quest was red to me (but she was orange, level 55). She casts fireball and frost nova, easily interruptible for me with kick, KS, arcane torrent, etc.

I think the postion is random. Two crystals will net you an infernal. The other would summon a guard and then Magus Rimtori herself.

It works wonders to pull the guard away from the circle. Once he dies, you go out of combat and have time to prepare for the woman. She has line-of-sight issues with the pillars, which can be used to your advantage.

WAY too easy, don't be scared by this quest. she's 55 but EASY EASY. I solo'd as a 49 druid. I lured the first guard that popped up away, killed him, ate and drank to restore back to 100% health and mana, did cat form, stealth, then pounce and a couple other DOT's. she was dead before i was past 1/2 health

Did this quest as a lv50 Mage. You may think, lv50 mage? Yeah right.. But I lost 0 health. While she was casting fireball I simply went behind a pillar and she went out of LoS, I fireballed quicker than she and I had instants. Piece o' cake! She is lv55, guard is lv51. (59,31) by the way.

Facing the book, I did the left pillat first. It summoned a angry infernal. Then i did the right, summoned an angry infernal. Then finally i did the center, it summong the warrior and the lady. easy at 53

Based upon what i read above, I tried the middle one and it netted the warrior then the quest target. I suggest you try the middle one first. Additionally if you pull the warrior away as stated below you can med for the named. Very easy as a 51 hunter

had trouble doing this at 52 hunter.. her guard was a piece of cake, but she kept throwing fireballs at me.. 300dmg each.. lucky a lvl60 rogue was there and finished her off in couple swipes of his blades.

For me it was the one in front of me not to either side. If you get an elemental then you got the wrong one and the Magus does not spawn. If you get a BE Defender you got the right one and Magus will spawn shortly.

I just wanted to confirm that the stone which summons Rimtori is random. I tried the center first (as suggested) and got an elemental. Next I tried the left and got Rimtori.

Did this as 50 Rogue too

This quest is just too easy. I got it right on the first crystal too . And used the same strategy as JeHutheAwesome . Lured the warrior away so i couldnt aggro the misstress. Killed the warrior and ate something to regen . After that i popped cold blood on her and critted her with with an ambush around 1100. As soon as she did frost nova i used vanish and ambushed her again . hitting her again for about 1000 . And that was all i needed to kill her.

The q is red for me too but thats just a load of crap

Just done on a 47 druid lured two people away to aviod agro as noted and then back to finished off the chick. The location is up on the northern peninsula on a southern bluff.

Easy as a 50 rogue, pulled the guard away and killed her myself, didnt even lose too much health, so i stealth over and cheapshot rimtori and kidney shot when she frost nova'd so i didnt even need to vanish.

Not sure if there's any way of telling which crystal is which? I picked one at random and a blood elf warrior appeared. While I was killing him he called for aid and Magus Rimtori appeared. Luckily he was mostly dead so I turned my pet onto her, cast curse of tongues and blasted her with shadow bolts until she died.

Not too difficult for a 53 warlock to solo.

Super easy. Picked the left one, thought i picked the wrong one since a different guy popped out but as i was about to kill him she popped next to him and killed her lvl 55. Done.

di dthis easy at 51 lvl hunter just layed down explosive trap summoned guard sent pet on him when he hit the trap he went down in few shots.. she was bit harder but pet has 1.3 attack speed so she had bit hard time casting took her down with 1/4 of my healt left.

The quest was red for me but I don't think that's accurate, really. Did this as a level 50 undead frost mage. Facing the book, I did the center crystal, and out came the warrior. My water ele and I killed the warrior, he died right as the lady showed up. My ele died shortly thereafter and I finished her off. I had ice barrier on when I started the fight with her, frost bolted her out the wazoo with a couple of fire blasts mixed in. 7300 exp. Woot :)

I solo'd as a lvl 51 subtlety rogue.

Shes level 55, heres what I did:

first, entered stealth, did premeditation (add 2 combo points), shadowstep (next ambush %20 extra damage, plus appear behind target) and Ambush. Now she was about half way through her health. I sinister striked her until she died.

Her crystal is the one straight on, not the left, or the right.

And I didn't even have to use poisons :)

Easy as Pie. 52 loc. Void aggroed, I dot'ed to death. Void went after her, aggroed again. She killed void, I killed her. She fired 1 300hp shot at me before she died. I chose the crystal to the left of the book.

Soloed as a 48 rogue. This is what you do:

Destroy the crystal (i took the crystal towards the water) and pull the guard away (just run down to the empty camp southwest). It's a pretty easy mob, deal with him however you want (I just Expose Armored him and SSed).

Magus Rimtori's only real threats are frost nova, followed by 350dmg fireballs. If you have Improved Sprint you can just sprint out of the first frost, the second you can just Vanish out of. If you attack really quick after your Vanish she will not regenerate any health, your Sprint should still be up so it's doable. She ought to be dead by that point as she doesnt have much health.

Both Cheap Shot, Kidney Shot and Kick work on her so she is actually quite easy. I was pretty amazed that I could solo a lvl 55 named mob as 48.

The funny part is that while I killed her in the first try, I died 3 times trying to kill the 10 Reclaimers in the pre-quest.

As a 51 Warlock I figured I'd give this a shot, take a beating and come back in two levels, but the Blood Elf Warrior popped and he was easily owned. Rimtori showed up as he was dying and I cannot believe what a beating she took, threw on my dot's fast, soul fire and dead.

Did this quest as a 50 Rogue...

Basically, I chose correct the first time and lured him away from the stones, so when he summoned his master, she was too far away to aggro. After I killed him, I had lost about 800 health, so I sat down and casually ate a mushroom.

From there, I stealthed behind her, used Premeditation for 2 extra combo points, then ambushed her. She frost nova'd me really quick, but I just vanished out and cheap shotted 'er before her health started regenerating. From there, I just Sinister Strike'd and Eviscerate'd her 'till she died. She only had 2500 health... Not much for a level 55.

Killed as an Arms Warrior with no problem. When you engage the guard, pull him away from the gazebo and you won't aggro the Lv55 Rimtori who spawns.

Not hard at all, be sure to put some frost bolt and CoC on ur bar for the Infernal tho. Done as 50 firemage, resists fts.
