It's not true that you will fail if the princess takes damage. If she doesn't turn friendly when the emp dies then you hit a bug or something.

What we did was had the warrior tank the emp, and had the pally offtank the princess far enough away from the emp so she couldn't heal the emperor. Very easy this way, just put your healer(s) between the tanks.

The pally was obviously chopping away at the princess during this time, as soon as the emperor died she truned friendly. It makes no difference whether she takes damage or not for her to change faction for you. By far the simplest way to complete this quest is just to keep her away from the emperor.

I do emp runs all the time now for loot and shard farming every single time this is the way we do it. Usually the princess has about half hp by the time the emperor is dead and her health goes back to full right when he dies and she changes faction. In my opinion if you try to do this without hurting her at all (meaning that she will heal the emperor), you are just asking for a very difficult fight.

I've done this quest and helped people do it succesfully both hurting the princess and not hurting the princess.

Twice when I've done it she hasn't become friendly and both times it was because the princess either wasn't in line of sight or wasn't in range of the emperor.

The princess doesn't have to be within healing range of the emp - I've found about half way across the room from him is ideal - but much further than that and you risk her not turning friendly.&nbsp Other than that, you need to make sure the princess has a clear line of sight on the emp when he dies you can't have him around a corner from her or up by the throne when he's down below.

Anyway, I hope this post helps clear up some of the confusion and myths surrounding this quest.

Just had the same thing happen Paly tanked her as we killed Emp and she stuck agro she was on the stairs to the throne. I am keeping the instance up as long as i can with a friend hoping a GM can intervene on some level.

PS I got the quest credit just cant hand in to her.

PPS Anyone talked to a GM about offical word on the bug and any chance of them helping people that got shafted?

This quest requires that you kill the Emperor, but do NOT kill the Princess. Once the Emperor is dead, she will become friendly and you can talk to her to complete the quest chain. The easiest way to do this is to keep her CC'ed, as she will heal the Emperor otherwise.

Hey,

I'm glad many of you happened to finish the quest by not hitting the princess, I ran it 4 times before I was teamed with someone who actually knew what the bug was.

The princess must be LOOKING at the emp when he dies. I just completed it, and the princess was at like 50% hp. I tanked the %#$@ out of her.

If you happen to have done no dmg to the princess, and she's still looking at the emp, then it will finish too. But, not necessarily. Have fun!

same as 3 posts above me, have run it 2x after 1.10 first time we had a locks fellhunter tank/scilence her, she took minimal damage liek 2% was right next to emp when he died, she remained hostile and locked in the "evade" bug

2nd time we ignored her toatlly, no way she coudl have taken any damage, same thing happened

All you do is pull the emp and princess down you take her around corner so she dont heal have somebody off tank her......Once the emperoer is Very low on health bring her out so she can see him die then she turns friendly......Simple as that i did 5 man 1 priest 1 mage 1 rog 1 paladin 1 lock Very simple......GL

To the two posters above me... THANK YOU! I thought I was alone with this. I have just finished a five man Emp run, without killing the Princess. Now, she evade bugged on us, and I didn't think much of it at the time. Little do I realize that I need to talk with her to complete the quest. Fack! Have yet to submit a ticket, will do that tomorrow.

And I was so pysched to get my ring too... :(

Maybe this is 'cause of 1.10?

I posted earlier on this topic, and I did get to speak with a GM about it. This was recently after the 1.10 patch, so I don't think he had heard any reports about it yet. Basically I was told that he would bring it to the attention of development and that it seemed that the quest randomly bugged out on people from time to time, but my particular bug may be the result of the recent patch. He couldn't give me credit for the quest or offer any advice as to how to prevent it the next time and just told me to try again.

I ran a very smooth Emp run again last night, this time with a paladin pulling the princess away and keeping her occupied. This time she didn't react at the emperor's death, remained hostile, and was again stuck in evade mode. I submitted another GM ticket and received the typical "quest petition" in-game mail response. No luck.

Has anyone successfully completed this quest since the patch? If so, what were the circumstances?

Did the quest last night, went all out on the Emperor, no one touched the princess even though she healed.&nbsp As the healer, I agroed her the whole time but she often left me to heal the emperor.&nbsp Her heals aren't very strong.&nbsp She doesn't hit very hard so I just shielded and let her whack away.&nbsp Was able to complete the quest easily once the emperor was down.

As the above poster says, read the quest: "And <name>, do not harm her! Remember, she is being controlled by Thaurissan! The things she may do or say are a result of Thaurissan's evil spell!"

Do not harm the princess in any way.&nbsp No tanking, no DoTs, no AoE, no nothing.&nbsp Better safe than sorry.&nbsp Worked like a charm on our first kill.

Argh! My group just got bitten by the bug where she stays hostile to you even though you killed the Emperor. Is there any chance a GM could give us credit for the quest, or are we doomed to another long BRD run? I've put in a ticket, we'll see what happens.

We weren't doing anything crazy, druid in bear form was off-tanking her on the north side of the room while we killed him on the south.

I too encountered this problem on this quest, i tried it twice :(. After having a druid tank her in the middle of the room, the rest of the party downed the emperor. She ran to the middle both times and went on evade and didnt change faction. Due to this, like many of you, i petitioned a GM, and this was the response i got in my email:

Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department.

In order to solve your current quest issue we ask that you do the following:

-Abandon the quest from the quest log
-Move all quest items to the main backpack
-Return to the NPC that gave you the quest (If it is a series, the last NPC you interacted with)
-Acquire the quest again
-If the error duplicate item appears then please destroy any quest items.

If the same issue occurs a second time, please petition for a Game Master detailing the events.&nbsp We thank you for your patience.

Thank you again for contacting us.&nbsp We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

^ I dont really understand, considering there is no quest item :x. maybe just quit the quest and retry?

This quest is bugged. I have tried this with an offtank on the princess and we kill the emp, and I have tried it with ignoring her completely, doing ZERO damage to her, and she either goes into evade mode, or keeps attacking us. Both times she was standing RIGHT NEXT to the emperor when he died.

I submitted a ticket, and I actually received a timely and helpful response:

GM: "Unfortunately it is a known issue, and the developers are working on a solution for it. Any updates for this matter will be posted on www.worldofwarcraft.com on the front page under patch notes."

ME: "Ah so it will be fixed in a future patch?"

GM: Yes.

ME: "So your suggestion would be not to bother trying again until I see such an update in the patch notes?"

GM: "Unfortunately, that is correct"

That is straight from "the horses mouth" so to speak, so take his advice, and mine, and dont waste your time. If you do, you MIGHT get lucky and she wont bug, but more than likely you will just have wasted hours of your valueable game time, for the frustration of no reward at the end, so dont bother.

The above posters are right. The quest is bugged.

We had someone tank the princess at the other end of the room, while I (a paladin) healed him. The three other party members concentrated on the emperor. When the emperor died, the princess had about half her health left. But she stayed hostile, and we were forced to kill her. So my advice is also not to bother with this quest until it is fixed.

The quest can't be done in a raid, but it CAN be turned in in a raid. So if you can't turn in because the Princess didn't turn friendly, you can come back with a raid party to turn in. (I suspect there is a damage threshhold...if you do too much damage to her, she stays hostile but it could just be bugged)

The stratagy we used last night worked well. I sent my pet (with bite turned off) to OT the Princess. Then our tank pulled the Emperor to about the middle of the room. That way I was able to stand within range of my pet to heal, while still within range of the Emperor for DPS. He went down pretty quickly and she turned freindly. :)

Just ran this quest today (July 7) and it's still bugged. But one thing I noticed was that when we killed emperor, she became friendly and ran to throne. When we looted him she became hostile and ran down to kill us.

Still, a pain and bliz needs to fix this asap. It sounds like tons of people are having this problem and wasting their time.

So can the Princess be:

-sheeped
-Mind Controlled
-Feared

If so to any of those this fight will be very easy.&nbsp We are going in a group of a Mage, Warrior, 2 Hunters and a Priest.&nbsp I'm thinking that we will just open up on the Emperor and let her heal him as she likes.&nbsp Then when the Priest pulls agro from her she is either sheeped, feared, mind controlled or a combination of the three.&nbsp This should give the other 4 members (3 of whom can put out huge damage) enough time to take the emperor down.

Downed the Emp, the Princess ran back to her spot, but stayed red and immediately attacked us again, forcing us to kill her or be killed. We had the warrior tanking emp, along with all the dps on him, while I (feral druid) OT'd princess.&nbsp When emp died, an emote appeared that said soemthing along the lines of "The Princess is visibly shaken by the death of Emp," but she kept on attacking me.&nbsp We waited for a bit, ran out past magmus' room, and eventually had to kill her.&nbsp When I got back to IF, I paged a GM, saying something along the lines of the fact that we had killed emp, but had nowhere to turn the quest in, and got this email (I logged before I got a repsonse.)

"Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department.&nbsp

Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill your request at this time.&nbsp There are tactics that must be used to be able to turn this quest in as intended.&nbsp Unfortunately, should this battle plan not be followed, the quest cannot be completed.&nbsp This is actually working by design.&nbsp Though our goal is to attend to each and every petition we receive, certain actions are beyond the scope of the Game Master Department.&nbsp I am very sorry for the inconvenience that this causes you, and wish you the best of luck.&nbsp Thank you for your patience and understanding."

This, to me, suggests that we either have to not damage her at all, or not damage her after emp dies (most easily accomplished by stopping attack right before he dies).&nbsp Other than that, "Working as intended."

Kinda sucks, been working on that quest since before 1.10, this was the first group that's managed to make it past the lyceum (considering the only other time there was a mage in the group, the group stopped to drink at a place where one of those nasty big pats spawns), and I was hoping to replace the last green in my kitty set.

After reading all the messages for this quest, I thought I mention that we just successfully completed the quest.

I am a hunter, and I sent my pig on her while the rest of the group killed the emp.&nbsp I did not do any damage to her other than shoot her with the mana drain sting once in a while and I spent all the time healing my pig while she beat on it.

The moment the emp died, she turned friendly and we could walk up to her and complete the quest.&nbsp She even gave us a new quest, to return to her father in IF and give him a message, for which you get a to choose 1 of 2 rings as a reward.

It appears as though they fixed the bug.

For the outer room, don't stop moving. I was actually watching the princess as we killed the emperor&nbsp last night.&nbsp No-one hit her during the fight.&nbsp I saw her go green, she ran up behind the throne, where there were no players.&nbsp As soon as she went out of line of sight from me, she reappeared, hostile.

I don't know the timing relative to the Emp being looted - although I suspect it may well have happened at that moment.&nbsp The emperor was down in the hall when we took him down.&nbsp It's possible the princess was out of line of sight behind that throne at the point he was looted.

Whatever, this quest is most definitely still not behaving itself.

Completed the quest on patch 1.10. Tried ignoring the princess, but she silenced our healer, so we wiped. So we offtanked her, hit her several times. The quest worked anyway. We tried (on advice, to avoid the bug) to not hit her just before the emperor died, and it worked.
