Collect 6 Grizzled Bear Hearts and 6 samples of Skittering Blood and deliver them to Master Apothecary Faranell in the Undercity.

Description

Arthas's numbers are overwhelming. But with a New Plague we could eradicate both the Scourge Army and the Human infestation once and for all.

My studies have proven that spider blood combined with a toxin derived from a grizzled bear heart results in a deadly elixir. Collect samples from the spiders in the Skittering Dark to the northwest and from the bears wandering throughout Silverpine Forest. Deliver the reagents to Master Apothecary Faranell of the Royal Apothecary Society in the Undercity.

at loc 53,38 i got almost 1/1 drop from the bears at lvl13

at loc 36,14 the spiders also dropped nearly to 1/1 at lvl13

In the skittering dark, you can farm both and! while you're waiting for them to respawn you can fish along the coast and or sell all the junk you pick up from the spiders to the fishing vender there. You can also lvl your cooking on the campfire next to him from the fish you catch.

Beware of the Son of Arugal, a level 24 or 25 elite that wanders in this area. (showed up as level ?? for me....). If you find him, he will ruin your day.

The spiders are far northwest of the sepulcher. like right on the north coast really close to the northern mountains. The spiders are all about lvl 13. Hope taht all makes sense

where to turn in: hard to find in the undercity... my cursor was over his (c) icon but there was no one there. In Undercity you have to take the path at 46,58 to go down a path UNDER the main city. kind of silly. hard to find if you don't know it.... If you do NOT have Coords, get to this person by taking the path at the NW section of the apocetharium.

Why they make the cites so confusing i have no idea.

Go up the road to about 54,17.&nbsp The go due West, staying close to the hills to the North of you.&nbsp At about 41,17 you will start running into plenty of bears.&nbsp Then farther west you will find the spiders.&nbsp I had about a 30% drop rate for both overall, even after a slow start.&nbsp Good luck!

Fairly easy quest. Droprate was no less than most of the others you do in Silverpine. However, you've gotta keep an eye out for the Son of Arugal. He's a level 20 (Rare?) Elite that wanders VERY close to where you find the spiders. While I was there, I saw him coming (on my 15 UD mage) and started backing up immediately. I was lucky enough to survive, however the two others who were in his path (a 16 lock with a voidwalker and a 15 warrior) got their asses kicked. Badly.

I see no problem with this, although it is a grinding quest that requires you to kill a fair amount of bears and spiders.

I got pretty good drop rates. Maybe every 3rd or 4th mob dropped it. As the quest says, head north and cross the bridge, then head north west. you'll find bears and spiders aplenty.

I have done this quest twice, the second time now as im writing this. I honestly got these hearts at like 1 in 10 drop rate. I killed over 50 bears for these hearts. Its a screwed up drop rate.

I didnt see any problems referring this.
Spiders dropped faily well (1/2.5), the only problem were the bears, which took me around 50 kills.
I think this depends on the luck of the player.

The spiders are at the very north-west of Silver pine&nbsp and i killed them (priest 13) By Powerword:sheild and then shadowword:pain them and then wand them like crazy. I LOVE WANDS

I just did this alone with a level 13 mage on my first attempt. This is my first character on WoW and I've only been playing for a very short time (my husband's the gamer-geek:)
The only pain was having to kill dozens of bears (or so it felt like, but not really too many!) but the spiders were SUPER easy to kill and most of them were drops. I only died once on this quest and that was when the Argol's Son dude came outta nowhere and killed me in an instant. Watch out for him! I think he's level 25 or something? That's okay, someday I'll come back and exact my revenge. )

These things are great for low level casters working their way up to and through the 20s... even mages who can make their own water. Since you can eat these AND drink some water at the same time... you get a significant boost in mana regen. Eating these and drinking just ice cold milk, my 16 shaman has little downtime while leveling... it's a shame you can only ever get 20.

I solo'd as a lvl 12 mage. Just had to be careful to skirt around critters. And only pull one at a time.

In the cave for fastest spider drops - 80% seemed right about 5% outside

Did the bears all over Silverpine prior to this although I guess they might drop better here

This quest seem to have bugs. The same bears drops each time they respawn. Other bears don't drop at all. To finish quickly: camp a couple of bears that drops.

I just finished this quest drop rate for skittering blood from the moss stalkers was 92% drop the bears on the other hand i found that more droped with the giant bear it was about 53% drop rate coordinates are 36,15 Hope This Helps

Soloed it as lvl 12 priest, if your a mana user just take a break for each mob and if you aggro two run.

I killed 7 bears and 29 spiders.

In fact, both mobs can be found at 37,16 - and there is a mine there to explore too, so you dont have to go all over the map to collect both types of quest item.

37,16 for the spiders

39,16 for the bears (The bears at 37,16 didn't give me a single heart after killing 6-7 of them.

I know it's only a small distance away, but I'm convinced they are seperate bear spawns :)
