Lake Creeper Moss (6)
Hardened Tumor

Description

According to Berard's Journal the moss from Lake Skulkers and Creepers might prove useful for our quest to brew a new plague. Those beasts dwell on the islands in Lake Lordamere to the east.

He also mentions a very rare Hardened Tumor that he discovered on a Vile Fin murloc. Apparently the tumor is so rare Berard was only able to obtain one.

Collect samples of the moss as well as the rare hardened tumor and take them to Master Apothecary Faranell in the Undercity.

I also got 2050 exp for this.

If you swim straight east from the decrepit ferry, you will hit the big island.&nbsp Straight east of you are the gnolls for another quest.&nbsp

If you follow the chain of islands to the south east, you will hit the mobs in the following order. First on the southern tip of the big island is the sulkers.&nbsp The next island has the murlocs (I got the "rare" tumor on the 3rd kill).&nbsp The island after that has the creepers. Got all of the mosses fairly quickly.

Hope this helps!

The Lake Creepers & Skulkers are both on the chain of islands to the East of Fenris Isle. Skulkers on the southern two, Creepers on the Northern two.

The droprate for Skulker Moss isn't bad at all, but the Creeper Moss is a very low droprate. Expect to kill quite a few of these guys before you get what you need.

Even though the quest says the Hardened Tumor is extremely rare, I got it on my first kill. The Vile Fin Murlocs are all up and down the East coast of these islands.

Very confusing to find&nbsp the NPC that takes the completed quest.&nbsp The yellow dot shows on mini map, but it appears the NPC is not there.

What u need to do is this:&nbsp

Go to the room to right of the yellow dot as you see it on the mini map.&nbsp At the 6:30 o'clock position off the room, there is a doorway.&nbsp As you pass through it, turn right and travel through the DOWN-ward slopping hall.&nbsp You will emerge in a rood with the NPC you want.

He is below the main level.&nbsp The yellow dot is helpful, but doesn't tell the whole story.&nbsp Hope this helps.

Lake skulkers are at the main island (Fenris isle), and the second island(the dawning isles) if you swim east.
the moss for the skulkers shoulnt be hard to find, they usally drops every kill, if not then its should be rare, haved got them all for every kill (except for the last moss taked about 5 kills before it drops).

Lake Creepers are at the third and fourth island (the dawning isles) as you swim north after the second island, the moss for them can be a little hard to get, but try to kill as many as you can, i got the first moss after about 4 kills taked about 10 kills to get the second, but then the third, fourth and fifth moss came easliy after that (each kill got moss), the 6th moss came about 3 kills to get.

Murlocs are at nearly all islands (except for the main island(Fenris Isle)), there are shorecreepers and tidecallers. The hardened tumor is VERY rare to find, havent found it yet (think i have killed nearly 30 kills without drop), but i have only killed shorecreepers and tidecallers, where do you see the lakestalkers and oracles, i cant see them have been to nearly all islands without seeing them, and why arent the tumor dropped at the shorecreeprs and tidecallers ?
are it dropped at lakestalkers and oracles or what?

I still need to find that damned thing.

Carefull the Lake Creeper elders all cast root, so not dot/squat tactics here. The mosses are fairly easy to get off the skulkers however the creepers are stingy, and i have yet to find the thing off the murlocks.

The skulkers I found to give up the moss fairly often and quickly. The first Murlock I killed, I believe it was tidecaller dropped the tumor. I am now hunting the Elder Creepers. I have killed perhaps 12 so far an not a sign of this moss. I even did a cursor scan to make sure I was not suppose to hearbalize the moss instead of it dropping like the last moss. Oh well, back to the grind. The elder Creepers do cast root and they are levels 18 to 19. I have yet to see a named elite of these.

I found the Vile Fin to be a bit tough. They tend to aid their brethren. They also cast healing totems. I found that if you immediately move away from the totems, they are much easier to kill. Also, the ones a bit further SE of the above coordinates were easier to pull singles.
