The Fragments Within

Report back what you have found to Sentinel Glynda Nal'Shea in Auberdine.

Description

The moonwell water has revealed that embedded inside the crystal are a few small fragments of bone, as well as half of a jawbone. The jawbone appears to be from a humanoid, but it is unclear without breaking open the crystal - a feat that even the strongest of magic would find near impossible.

With the task at hand complete, all that remains is to report back to Sentinel Glynda Nal'Shea in Auberdine.

I just did this. I died at least 5 times after getting to the final stage of the quest (after touching the red crystal while holding the filled vial of water), and then hearthed back to auberdine. Got the quest and it worked fine. FYI if you're going to sell the reward, the staff goes for the most.

The first time I went up to the stone, I was attacked by several moonkin and died.

When I went back I cleared the area of all moonkin before I went anywhere near the stone.&nbsp Then when I touched it, nothing attacked me at all.&nbsp I completed the quest and I hearthed back with no problems at all.

Use your brains. Walk a bit south-east, make a path through the camp over paths. Then near the hill, walk to north and watch carefully how the mobs walks. You can walk near the hill to the red crystal without aggro. (level 15 priest here)
Then watch again, and when most are walked away, walk to south near the wall, then fight through the camp to west, over wide paths. No big problem.

In most cases, if you fail a quest, just abandon it in your quest log, and you can get it again from the person or place where you got it from.

I did this with no issues, no death, no HS, no nothing - but when i get back to Aub, the turn-in lady is green with no ? and says nothing to me. Quest is gone from log. Sent in a ticket.

I really wanted that staff&nbsp :/

you do lose the quest if you die on the way back, as i just found out the hardway, and no you can't talk to her to get it...so be careful all the way back, dont do the same thing i did.

You can't die nor can you use any warping or teleportation. I used my hearthstone to get back quickly and it counts as failing the quest.

Using the coords from TomTom, the red crystal is known to be at (47.28,48.68).

Easy quest line to complete - it took me only about 20 minutes to do the whole thing and the Staff was a nice item for a caster at level 13.
