Description

I will get started immediately on crafting your orb and infusing your new demon into it. When done, you will have the choice of having it in the form of a staff or orb. I always felt it was important to cater to a warlock's chosen weapon... I see no reason not to continue that practice.

These two items are of the same ilvl - meaning the two items are equilavent in terms of total points. The orb is blue because it is an offhand. You should always take the orb. Even if you find a lame main hand sword or dagger, that plus the orb is better than the staff since that the orb alone is already the equilavent of the staff. If you pick the staff, you do not get to wield another main hand.

to get this choose the felhound for your apprentice quest.&nbsp the infernal gets you one with the same stats, only fire damage.&nbsp orb or staff, its your choice...locks just do alot more shadow damage.

Hypnotic Blades new stats
+8 int
+3 spi
+9 dmg and healing.

As of patch 1.11, the Orb now has it's own cooldown, meaning that it can be used without screwing up cooldown on a Healthstone.

I found the problem...

notice in the completion of the pre Q she says "When I have both the spirit and the cleansed orb, I will merge the two for you, but not until then."

which means you have to do http://classicdb.ch/?quest=4961 as well.... after that, return to her and get your reward

that staff is awful! i like shadow damage and use staves, but thats just... awful think im gonna go for the offhander and a hypnotic blade or something

ok i am a warlock doing that shard quest where i choose from an infernal and a felguard. now i am planning on doing the infernal for the eztra shadow dmg but im not sure weither to get the staff or the orb. i am curently useing the illusionary rod but i am not sure if i should get the new staff or the orb and go for getting a onehanded weapon. Also if i should got for the orb and a oone handed weapon which weapon should i get?

19 damage is great on level 36. it's @#%^ing great. get that into your heads :) as for you who used Crescent Staff instead.. l2p :P
I disagree, the staff blows, take the orb, and run SM Library a few times to get the Hypnotic Blade. the orb in offhand gives you +14 the Hypnotic blade gives you +9. +19 to spell damage on the staff compared to +23 with virtually the same effort....no brainer
