Blood Shards of Agamaggan

Bring a Blood Shard to Mangletooth in Camp Taurajo in the Barrens.

Collect more Blood Shards if you want him to bless you with Agamaggan's power.

Description

Along with the thorns, the blood affected <snort> other aspects of the earth: blood red stones mixed in with other minerals. The Bristleback dig up these shards and carry them as totems <snort> for strength in battle and as totems for their magics. <snort>

I know the secrets of that magic.

Bring Mangletooth one of these blood shards to show you understand. Bring Mangletooth many of the shards, and he will bless you with quilboar magic--the magic of Agamaggan! <snort>

The absolute best way to get them is to kill the Bristlebacks&nbsp in the area (though the group to the north is my favorite area: they're relatively low lvs and respawn regularly). You'll get one or two off of amost every kill. You can get all you want in about 3o min. If you collect 30 shards, you can get all of the buffs he offers.

10 - Enhanced Movement Speed for 5 min
&nbsp 4 - Spirit +25 for 30 min
&nbsp 4 - Strength +10 for 30 min
&nbsp 4 - Agility +10 for 30 min
&nbsp 4 - Intellect +10 for 30 min
&nbsp 4 - Absorb and Reflect Damage for 10 min

The enhanced speed, in my opinion, is the most useful buff he offers, although the others are very welcome indeed.

This quest took awhile to get to (the one that leads to it "Tribes at War" was annoying, but doable), but was well worth it in the end. Which is more than I can say for some of the Ashenvale quests...

Actually the veins around Bristleback camps drop them 3-4 per vein

They are quest items because they have no other use. However, that is irregular.

These blood shards can be found as loot off of Razorbacks and through mining nodes in the Barrens.

After giving Mangletooth one of these Blood Shards a series of options becomes available. One of them a quest, the others are various buffs, such as increased speed, increased strength, and increased intelligence.

Found 2 stacks of these in about 5 minutes while mining copper and tin near Quillboar camps.. I was unsure what to do with them so I came here.

Just wanted to point out that it IS possible to get them without going into the instance (as I never went) and seemed to drop like crazy from the ore around these camps.

Apparently the blood shards aren't just a quest item, since I was playing a human warlock when I picked up a couple of these, and as such can't even get the quest ... and yet as I was passing through Bramblescar, I picked a few up off of the Bristlebacks. What the heck? @.@ And is there anything I can do with them as an Alliance member, or should I just sell 'em off?

you get the blood shards and you take them to Camp Tourajo in the barrens and Mangletooth in the cage will trade them for blessings... like armour, +10 str etc... easy

45, 54 is where i found a ton of these, and the mobs are about level 16, very easy quest, collect a bunch of them, it helps! dropped off Bristlebacks not razorbacks btw!

You can get the shards by mining the ores in the Barrens. Honestly, you get more shards mining than killing pigs.
The shards aren't quest items. You can sell them to vendors, but it's pretty low cash. Don't AH them, it's not worth it.
