Description

Before you spoke to me, <name>, I had heard of your endeavors... that you had an unyielding desire to prove yourself, that you had an exceptional ability as a <class>, and I now know these things to be the truth.

Those that excel as you do are worthy of recognition. Take this marker to a friend of mine in Thunder Bluff named Melor Stonehoof. I'm sure he will remember you, and what you accomplished so long ago. Speak to him of you recent victories, and do not ever forget what you have accomplished today.

Oddly enough I got this quest the other day and despite the quest text there's no marker to take to Mellor. Shadowhoof just hands over the +15 sta neck item there and then in Winterspring.

This quest has become available to both factions. The reward is now received from Shadowhoof himself.

you have this quest available only if you did the hunting quests at lower levels.&nbsp you can go back to XR, start the chain, and get to this point, and then realize the reward really isn't worth it.

the turn in guy does the quests for, steelsnap the hyena(thousand needles),frostmaw the yeti(alterac mts),and a croc in duskwallow, i did all 3,and got it,might be trigger

yeah says to turn in in thunder bluff but it was changed so that he just gives you the exp / item himself. now thats free exp! :)

Deadmire (the croc in dustwallow) is not a pre-req. for this quest.&nbsp I just turned it in, and he still had the deadmire quest for me.

Quest text seems to be a little off. There is no "marker" to be found in your inventory. perhaps they are talking about a symbolic marker...

anyhow. get the quest. go to Melor Stonehoff (Hunter's Rise). That's it. 3300 xp @ L59.

I don't know what the Prereqs for this are. I did Steelsnap, Deadmire, Frostmaw, Ursius, Brumeran, and still don't have access to Past Endeavors.

I was there just by chance, i've never done the croc did the other ones and it let me turn it in. I didnt even know i had the quest.

Quest was available at 54. Not sure if there's any other prerequisites. I didn't kill deathmaw at this point either so I'm pretty sure you don't need to have completed all the hunt named mob quests.

3100 exp and 61 silver (sell price of the amulet) for flying from Bloodvenom to Thunder Bluff.&nbsp It's like a free handout, for those of you not following the storyline.

mhh i still have no idea what i have to do to get this quest. i am 57 and i did every quest from melor an there is no quest for me. is maybe today someone here who knows the solution?

Well, for the Where part, just click on Map next to Storm Shadowhoof's name.

And now the How, as it says, obtainable at lvl 53. So get to level 53 and talk to him.

I just did this quest and I'm a 53 Warlock.&nbsp I got it from the dude in Felwood then I went straight to TB (Hunter Rise) and Melor just gave me the reward & 3300 xp. I didn't have to do anything and I haven't even done the hunting quest that Melor gives in 1kN. Best quest ever.

I remember in the barrens there were a bunch of quests where you had to hunt stuff. And in ashenvale, there were three monsters that you could kill and get rewards for. Maybe one of those is the pre-req.

Handed this quest in to Melor Stonehoof.

I didn't have a medallion but read the advice here and decided to try my luck and yup -- easy 3,300xp.

There has to be something that is missing in the chain of quests. Some people can talk to the NPC in Felwood and some cannot.
I am a 60 hunter (orc).
I have done all of the Melor quests and have the Heroic Commendation Medal.
I have a lvl 60 warrior friend that is trying for this and we have not only done the Hunter's Way quest, the one from Ghost Howl (drops cape quest, also from Skorn), Well of Corruption and A Husband's Last Stand nothing has worked. (Edit: have also done the series in Winterspring with the chimera and cats)
There has to be another quest involved somewhere that lets some people get this quest, and some not.
The Felwood quest giver will not talk to me, nor the warrior.
If anyone has any info on this please post...Thanks!

Maybe it has something to do with your reputation with TB?
I'm honored and can do the quest, my friend is friendly and can't.
And I'm sure I haven't done all those hunter quests.

im a lvl 60 hunter, with a lot of spare time. So i was in X-roads the other day, and i noticed there was a quest to get some raptor feathers. so i did that, and it sent me to camp taurajo, where some dude told me i should go be a good hunter and kill some crap. after that, i was sent to TB to kill steelsnap. Now, ive done all the felwood stuff, but once i got the the point in the hunter questline in the barrens where i was supposed to kill steelsnap, the dude in bloodvenom had the bubble about his head. this quest is a reward for the crap you did when you were in the mid twenties.

I'm having a rather odd problem with this...I'm a 58 shammy, and I got the quest from the guy with no problems (I didn't receive any kind of "mark" though). But when I go to Melor Stonehoof, he doesn't have a question mark over his head and I can't turn in the quest. Anyone else have this problem? I really want that reward...

where in TB is melor?

NM he is on hunters rise. i got 3300xp at lvl55 and the medal. I got the quest with no prereqs.

Just did this on my Hunter (55). You dont get a 'marker' we just went and talked to him (hunter's rise) and completed the quest.

As for pre-req, I am thinking it is the steelsnap, then the next quest Frostmaw I think it was. The same person you turn this quest in to was the one to give those.

Well, my suggestion is to go to Thunder Bluff and talk to Melor Stonehoof. I couldn't find a "marker" either, but when I talked to Melor, he completed the quest and gave me the medal.

What are the prerequisites for this quest? Some think it is completing the hunting quests by Melor Stonehoof in Thunder Bluff, but I have completed all of these. I also am level 56 and I'm honored with Thunder Bluff. This quest is driving me crazy, as the NPC simply won't offer it to me! What is it linked to?

I am a 60 horde hunter trying to figure this out.
There either has to be a prereq for this quest or it has been removed.
I have the Heroic Commendation Medal from the Melor quest series. I have tried all other suggestions including the quest(s) from Skorn in Bloodhoof (hunter's way and cape from ghost howl) and several series in Felwood (Husbands, Well, Bear/Chimera seris) and still no dice, the NPC will not talk to me or a friend that has tried it (also 60, warrior).
If anyone has info on this please post.

Maybe this is on purpose, and perhaps its also to offset how ridiculously easy most low level alliance quests are. "Here nancy_boy_paladin_99123, take this letter to the person standing next to me and present it to them" Person standing next to previous mob "Oh well done, choose your reward! [blue dagger][blue staff] + 5g and 10k xp", and also to try and encourage people to play horde as on pretty much all servers, horde are outnumbered by very large ratios.
