Description

Elemental leatherworking is what I know, and if you're willing to open your mind to the greater powers of substance, I will share with you all there is to learn.

Know this, <class>: by choosing this path you agree never to learn dragonscale or tribal leatherworking; there is only room for practice of one of the three arts. Furthermore, I'll need adequate proof that you are in tune with the elements of nature; to that end, bring me the purest essences of fire, water, earth, and wind.

Of course, mail armor falls under the Dragonscale area (duh!) - primarily for Hunters.&nbsp Elemental has some good stuff but is primarily focused on rogue benefits.&nbsp Tribal also has some good stuff for rogues but primarily benefits the druids.&nbsp Of course, all leatherworkers can make the Scorpid (mail) armor - the majority of LW items remain open for all.&nbsp The really good items for all LW require Friendly, Honored or Revered with some faction (Timbermaw, Zandalar, Argent Dawn or Cenarion Circle).&nbsp So, the question is:&nbsp do you want to make items to sell or items for personal benefit?&nbsp I would guess that rogues provide the largest specialized market (Elemental) and hunters the second but farming for materials increases the difficulty of the DS area (none are easy materials to get).

I hit 250 in LW at Lv 45 and went Tribal (Alliance NE Druid).&nbsp If you need anything on Detheroc, let me know.

Character must be level 40, Leatherworking must be level 225.

As for getting from 225/225 to 225/300 (Artisan) you must go to Aerie Peak in Hinterlands North of Arathi Highlands and pay 5 gold.

Alliance: Elemental Trainer is in eastern Searing Gorge

Horde: Elemental Trainer is in Arathi Highlands, North of Stormgarde Keep.

all pre-bc tribal, elemental, and dragonscale patterns can be learned by anyone regardless of specialization now. If you specc'd you can go to the other trainers and pick up the previously spec-only patterns.

with BC, your specialization will allow you access to BOP only items.&nbsp Therefore you should only pick the specialization you can use.

I was about to pick up dragonscale on my Rogue to make stuff for my hunter, but with the change, I can make all the dragonscale (excluding the existing BoP items) and still spec elemental. So my rogue is speccing elemental to get the new BC BoP patterns for himself... and I can still make existing dragonscale for my hunter.

To get the Elemental Leatherworking quest, you have to be at least level 40.

All the items you need is BOE so it's a good idea to get it before accepting the quest.

I think the only requirements for elemental LW is to be lv 40 and 250 leatherworking. Im a lv 43 rogue and had 250 leatherworking, got E LW at that level so if that helps anyone.

*edit*
Either that or you must be lv 40 and have artisan leatherworking. ( you can get artisan leatherworking from the trainer at Airie Peak in the Hinterlands) The cost to get it is 5g so make sure you bring some money along with you :)

So is this seriously a lvl 55 quest? Why? If I can get it at lvl 40 (my wife just got it last night) and most of the elemental gear is far lower than lvl 55 then why in the world would I bother getting trying to become an elemental leatherworker?

Let's not even mention how insanely hard it is to farm the stuff. Just the quest alone tells you how rediculous this profession is.

For Druids :

If you are in a raiding guild or intend to join one, Elemental LW is the way to go IMO.

Reason simple :

You will most likely get healing equipment from guild. What about your DPS/farming equipment though? Ofc you can get one from BG. But you can just get Elemental LW and make your own set :) That's why, you should think again before choosing Tribal.

Is there a place I can read up on the different types of leatherworking? I am not sure which one I want to go with for my hunter and I want to research the choice before I make a boo boo of picking the wrong one.
I have a troll hunter and a night elf hunter that both do leather, and I am not sure yet if they both should pick the same one (I assume hunters would just be the same...not that the race matters) or what.
Any advice?

Beeing a Feral Druid i found after a while that Elemental was best for me.
First i looked at Tribal, but thats more caster / healer related.
Dragonscale for Hunter / Shaman.

Feral druids should go for this quest as fast you have 260 leatherworking skill, and over lvl 45.
Buy the mats on AH, not expencive at all.
Also get mats for the pants when youre on AH.
Then go to the trainer, deliver the quest and make the pants. :=)

Must be the best feral pants out there at lvl 45.]][/url]

Well it's only the experience of one person, however I noticed that with all of these the 1st one fell on the 1st or 2nd drop and then I had to kill a ridiculous number to get the second one. So after I finished with the Heart of Fire and Globe of Water, and got the 1st Breath of Wind and 1st Core of Earth of the 1st and 2nd kills respectively. I asked a friend of mine to kill no more than five of each to see if I was right. He got them on the 2nd and 1st kills.

I agree, seems just a little one sided to me. I keep finding more and more to back this up. Looks all for giving the Horde all they need because Aliance is sooooo mean.
So then it just makes us tougher because we have more experence. We will Rule all !

I want to compare what you can make for each type of leatherworking, elemental, tribal, and dragon.

For tribal I've found Devilsaur, warbear, ironfeather, Chimeric, and Frostsaber. still trying to find patters for dragon and elemental.
