Description

A mudsnout composite? Absolutely brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?

Let me contribute my colloid of decay to this devilish brew.

In order to activate the contaminating agents in this mudsnout mixture, Lydon is going to need a strong troll's blood potion, as well as some daggerspine scales and torn fin eyes from the southern coast of Hillsbrad. He'll know what to do once you've gathered him all the reagents. And my, how anxious I am to hear how his experiment goes!

Torn Fin Eye: Straight South of Hilsbrad fields along the shore. Loot from Torn fin Muckdwellers and Torn fin oracles. 30,70 range.

Daggerspine scale: South-Eastern corner of Hilsbrad along coast. 64,85 range

Strong Troll's Blood - Is made by alchemist, so by it from them or get it from Action House in fx. Undercity.

Daggerspine Scale - Drops from humanoid, fishlike creatures which can be found i Hillsbrad Foothills around /tloc 54,63 (around the river between Southshore and Nethander Stead). Watch out for allies, they also come here to get these.

Torn Fin Eye - Drop from the fishlike creatures on Western Strand, I find the spot around /tloc 34,68 a good spot, but be careful about atacking the groups. Go for the lonely ones.

This was the info that I missed, but ofcause after reading the whole thing through I got it... It took me like a half an hour.

The torn fin eyes drop from the Torn Fins in Western Strand near loc 46,62. The daggerspine drop off the Daggerspines in Eastern Strand near loc 67,77.

Saggerspine Scale: They give the Daggerspine it Shoreschoker in beaches to the south of Dun Garok (66,83)

Torn Aim Eye: They give the Murlocs it that&nbsp in beaches to the south of Azurelode Mine (27,71)

Strong Troll Blood Potion: The alchemists do, can also be bought in the auction..

The coords posted above are correct.&nbsp

Just be careful of South Shore.&nbsp It's south of Tarren Mills and has guards that hit 300-500 dmg and will attack you from 50 yards away.&nbsp I find the best way to go is to get the Daggerspine first then follow the coastline west until you get to the Murlocs.

The strong troll's blood potion is an alchemy product and can be bought from other players or obtained in an auction house.&nbsp All major cities (The "Castles" on your map (M) when zoomed out as far as you can go) have an auction house.&nbsp Just right click on a guard once inside a major city and select "Auction House".&nbsp A flag will then appear on your map and minimap indicating where the auction house is.

The coordinates are not a part of the "original" WoW game.&nbsp They are an addon feature that can be downloaded here.&nbsp Recommended to all.

You made it this far, just finish the last one. This one was time consuming for me. I got the eyes without issue, the scales were easy, the Mudsnout mixture was from the previous quest, but the potion was a pain. I had this potion on me and used it before I knew I needed it for a quest. So, I'm running around looking for Briarthorn (easy) and Bruiseweed. I could not find a Bruiseweed plant for hours. When I don't NEED it it's everywhere but this time it was hard to find. At least I got to explore the zone a bit. Once this quest is done you can get the other part, Elixir of Agony, lvl 30 Elite. Yay!

they're both around the beach in southshore, fin and the eye anyway, fins from the nagas to the east of southsore and eyes from the murlocs to the west

my advice is to do this quest with the fifth quest of "battle for hillsbrad" ( http://classicdb.ch/?quest=539 ), as those torn fins as near the mine which you need to clear for battle for hillsbrad - you will be running around for battle of hillsbrad often enough, here you can save yourself one way.

As previous posts have suggested, the rest of the ingredients are easy to get. The potion is.. well.. we don't have an alchemist in our guild.. so no one can make the potion.. I am no alchemist, so that rules me out.. the AH never has these potions for sale... It has either the weak version or the major version, just not the strong version.. I am now lvl 37.. and this quest is still in pending.. :(...

DaggerSpine Scale are from Naga looking creatures found at 58,67

Torn Fin Eye are found bottem of Southshore Loc is 50,64

I found everything at the locations posted above, and soloed it as a lvl 28 druid. I had to use guerilla tactics though and comb the coast in sea lion form and pick out the "stranglers". I terrorized the beach for over an hour because the drop rate was so low...

Make sure you attack the group dropping the torn fins eyes who are directly south of the fields. They're lower level and seem to have a slightly higher drop rate than the others around them. I went up and down the entire coast hunting everyone, and even though one group having a higher drop rate than another might not be possible, it sure seemed like it to me.

The first poster is right, just buy the troll's potion off the AH - you should be able to find the amount you need for under 1 gold.

I just swam down river from Tarren Mill to avoid all the annoying teddybears, creepers and cats and as soon as I got to the ocean I found Daggerspine Shorehunters and Sirens (67% and 23% drop). Then just headed over the Southshore harbour and found Torn Fin Oracles and Tidehunters (great droprate, 100% for the Oracles and 75% for the Tidehunters). Then up the river again and I was home - quick and easy!

Trolls Blood - Auction House in Oggamir.

Devine Scale - Head directly south of Tarren mill past the south shore guards into the the little water river, where the rocks block the water fall proceed over them and there will be the squid like naga creature u have to kill. After that head NW in the water towards The hillbards mine. On the way u will discover a camp with all the little Torn people.

Torn Eye - Kill the little torn creatures and get their eye? Simple.

ok i don't remeber if this was add to any of the comments but the Daggerspine is close to Gun Gavok down the road to sea.&nbsp but u don't&nbsp go on the road u go start to the sea. there some Elite lvl 28 from there close by but there closer to Gun Gavok. IFu ever played Warcraft 3 u now&nbsp the naga it was a campain in the exp Frozen Thorne. that what they look like. the name of the Unit u want to kill is.............Daggerspine Screamer's
Daggerspine Shorestalker. don't know what else but those are the 2 units that I Found it in.

NOTE: The Daggerspine Screamer's&nbsp and Shorestalker does drops&nbsp "Fish oil" if you're skill needs like water walking for the shamen. that what i'm useing when I was doing this Quest for the frist time. Hint: it does alot of help if u pull 1 at a time if u're below lvl 30. they respawn&nbsp it seems like 5 mins. HaVE FUN!
also the screamer cast something. u won't be albe to cast u're skills when she does this but it last 10 sec or so

The co-ords above are spot on.&nbsp If you were killed by guards you were on the wrong side of the river.&nbsp They are vicious.

Helpful hint if attempting this quest by yourself.&nbsp

Head into the water and pick them off one by one on both lots its easier as they don't mob.&nbsp Especially if you are a warlock with extended breathing, get you little gizmo out and send him off to entice them back to you, ie: select/attack/make him passive and bring him back, then set him to attack again.&nbsp

I found Torn Fins on the shore of the lake to the west of Southshore, not far at all from Tarren Mill. Walk south from Hillsbrad and you'll run straight into their settlements. They range from level-28 to lvl-31.

Now to find those pesky daggerspines....

The best place to find the potion is to have an alchemist in your guild make you one :P However, occasionally they are available on the auction house as well. Good luck!

Getting the potion can suck if no one in your guild can make it. Expect to pay out some cash to get it. I think this is pretty dumb. A quest item should be something that drops.

i got yanked on this one. it seems all the mobs are lv. 30 and up? the lv. 28 and 29 torn fins are on the far west coast, and the weaker daggerspines are on the far east coast. also, damn eyes drop rate is really low, took me an hour just to get 5. lots of clam meat though ^^.
as a shaman, pulled out waterbreathing buff and slaughtered em all!

If you follow the river towards southshore, all the way until it meets the ocean you will find the sirens. They drop the daggerspines. lvl 31-32. They were easy enough as a 27 hunter.
As for the rest, well I'm not sure :) I am still looking for the rest, though. If anyone has any info on the torn fin eyes, let me know. I don't have cosmos, so a specific direction would be cool!

Some where along the line, I lost my Mudsnout Mixture. I assure you, I never destroyed it, or banked it. I use a mod that automatically sells ONLY greys, and this item is, obviously, not that. With the latest patch, when you abandon quests, it automatically destroys any quest items you have in your inventory, AND bank box, to cut down on useless items on the server.

Problem: lose the Mudsnout Mixture, and you have to abandon to get more. If you've already traversed Hillsbrad, and gathered the other required items, you lose those too. I won't be doing this one again, rewards just aren't worth it...but if you feel otherwise:

Daggerspine Scales drop from the Naga at and around the shoreline at (63,76)

Torn Fin Eyes drop from the Murlocs at and around the shoreline at (33,69)

Strong Troll's Blood Potion, as far as I can tell, can only be crafted...I found it on the AH for 1g50s on Cenarion Hold, but I suppose it all depends on your server.

According to Wowhead, Daggerspine Screamer (http://classicdb.ch/?npc=2370 ) and Daggerspine Shorestalker (http://classicdb.ch/?npc=2368 ) have almost twice the drop rate (13% compared to 8) of the other naga, and are in the 28-30 range. However, it's still aorund eight naga per scale, with the obvious degree of luck added in. Roughly, my drops were as follows: 10 mobs, 1 mob, 1 mob, 10 mobs, 2 mobs. Now to the murlocs!
