Elixir of Agony

Bring a keg of Shindigger Stout to Apothecary Lydon in Tarren Mill.
Keg of Shindigger Stout

Description

This new elixir is finally ready to be tested. But why let a perfectly good, highly contagious plague go to waste on a mere frog or dog? Let's have us some true fun in the name of Lady Sylvanas.

Head down to Dun Garok. You know the barracks where those filthy little dwarves skitter about. Steal me a keg of their Shindigger Stout. Once I have that keg, you and I will have quite the party, <name>.

The keg spawns randomly in either the 2 upper or lower messhalls before you go down stairs and also in he main room down stairs.&nbsp Check all 5 spots.

One keg is at 71.80 in a room on the right side of the building. In the room there are a set of stairs and 1 mob plus another mob patroling up and down the stairs. Keg is cleverly hiden by a large group of boxes in the northern corner of the room.

Others at

71.80 at bottom of right stairs

72.79 at bottom of the left stairs next to some guns.

72.80 at the top of left stairs.

71.80 on the left side when you go down the main stairs (leading to a fireplace) next to a table. LOTS OF MOBS!

I think thats it, thanks for reading my first comment and good luck wih this quest.

(For rogues)If the keg is not there keep checking around and try to pickpocket everyone, it adds up quite a bit 40-50 copper per pocket

I found it down some stairs, on the left side. I did it as a level 28 rogue - I have maxed my stealth talents, which was a help. It was next to a dwarf who wouldn't stay sapped in the end I used a pinch of 'slumber powder' (some reward from a very low-level quest in the Undead starting areas) - it knocked him out long enough for me to get the beer, vanish, and walk out.

It appears randomly in three location as far as I'm concerned: near two stairs (from the left and the right side of the enterance), which lead to the inn where the boss spawns and down the inn with the boss.

Two of us needed it in our group. First spawn was in small room at bottom of first set of stairs. Took another 10-15 mins to respawn and this time in was at bottom of twin staircase in the next biig room that has Elite boss

lvl 29 rogue, sneaked in, found at 71,81 exactly no one was in room, took the keg, then snuck out.&nbsp Its just a brown barrel standing up for those of you looking for it.

Just for everyone looking for it, it stands out alot more compared to the others. I think the most comonly found place for this barrel to be found is the one room where you have to go down the stairs to get to. It can be found there or within the two room above it.

It's true that rogues have a much easier time with this quest - though non-stealh classes can locate the barrel with ghost form and go from there.&nbsp The most frustrating part of this quest was easily finding the barrel in the first place.&nbsp If you are a level 32 rogue you can pretty much sneak around without anyone noticing you, as long as the enemy is green to you (29 and below).&nbsp The various pats can make this quest frustrating, but as long as your latency isn't hell (mine was over 1000 when I finished this quest) you should make it out fine.

Edit - I STILL hate this quest.

Is to just die, and while in ghost form, look for the friggin' keg. It's alot faster than stealthing around, even considering the corpse run.

Thought I wouldn't be able to solo unless I was a rogue but managed to do it.

Just run in and die, find the keg and hopefully there's only 1 mob, drop a stoneclaw totem loot and scoot. Worked for me... the second time, make sure you have room in your bag for it >_<

Soloed at level 28 as a rogue, without improved stealth. Was more luck than anything else.

Attempted to stealth into Dun Garok however was spoted, decided to run and vanish, which worked. Ran in and took a right turn, straightdown the coridor and down the stairs where I vanished as was on 200hp.

I then noticed the keg was in the room I vanished in, after about 5seconds the Dwarf left that room and went upstairs, I looted the keg and heartstoned out of there.

I love being a Rogue!&nbsp I finished this "Elite" quest wihtout a fight.&nbsp I stealthed in, found a keg by the stairs, sap-ed the only guy in the room who could cause a problem, got the keg, vanished to avoid potential problems when he woke, and walked out.&nbsp No prob.

Get a Rogue to go in and get it for you.&nbsp MUCH easier.

definetly doable for any lvl 32. just learn how to properly pull.
my only problem was that when i grabbed the keg there were two elites and i got killed right outside the main gate, but just ran back, grabbed my body and turned in the quest.

Druids and Rogues - if you see the barrel in an empty room and there are guards in the other room with their back to you, you are safe to unstealth and swipe the barrel, even though they 'feel' within aggro radius. I think the walls remove the aggro range or something. Took less than 5 minutes there and back.

Went in there with my guild tonight, and it's in one of 4 points (that we found).&nbsp Down near the large lodge with the fire and Captain Ironhill, two two small storage rooms to either side.&nbsp It can be on the floor on that upper level, or in one of those two side rooms.&nbsp Again, as others have said, just look for the barrel that looks out of place.&nbsp

it spawns in random parts inside dun garok. not sure if it was always like that, but it does. you have to pretty much clear the entire place to get enough for a whole party.

The keg is irritating to get for the whole party since it respawns at random places. Plus, the dwarves respawn really quickly and you've got to be wary of respawns whenever you enter any seemingly empty room.
The keg usually appears in those side rooms off the main hall. Do not cross the front hall before ensuring it is safe. My party was chased by at least 10 of those filthy dwarves at one time.
If you got a warlock, use the eye to scout around for the keg while camping in a safe room. Otherwise you could also scout in ghost form if you so unfortunately die.
We went through 5 rounds of respawns to get Battle of Hillsbrad and the keg done. Gave me 6 bars of exp at lvl 31.

... because this item may have a "very" long spawn time ... In fact, more than 1 hour (confirmed by Blizzard after we ve reported the issue) ... and only one player can loot it at the same time even if you re in the same group ..

An annoying and very frustrating quest.
