  •
Scare Quixxil [Release Umi's Yeti]
Umi's Mechanical Yeti
Provided Item:
Umi's Mechanical Yeti

Description

It's all ready, <name>!

Now, I sent some mail to my friends already, telling them that I have a surprise for them. This is where you come in!

I'm going to give you my mechanical yeti, and you need to surprise them by paying each of my friends a visit, turning the yeti on and sending it towards them.

Once you have shown Legacki in Everlook, Sprinkle in Gadgetzan, and Quixxil in Marshal's Refuge, come back and tell me what happened!

Please bring my yeti back to me then, too.

Annoyingly, if you scare one of the goblins while you're flagged, the other faction can attack the yeti... you'll still get credit, but the guards will attack you as well as him since apparently the yeti counts as a hostile pet or something.

Found this out the hard way. Somewhat amusing, but mostly dumb.

it is possible that you do have the yetis in ur inventory. be sure to look closely because the item does not look anything like a yeti. too me it looks more like a blue and gray axe of some sort.

not very accurate but hope it helped =D

Just to sum a lot of confusion here, since people seem to be getting mixed up:

The quest yeti has ten charges, the one you use to scare Umi's friends. The reward yeti has only 3 charges. It will fight, but only if you get hit, and it only stays up for 10 minutes, fight or not. Apparently, if you want a permanent one, you need to be a 250+ engineer and get the schematic when you are done with the quest (the only part I can't verify personally, since my only engineer character is only level 9).

They seem to have fixed the kinks in not getting updates scaring the friends. I ran this through with two characters, and for both I only needed one shot at each friend.

This is very easy and fun quest -) Just read the quest instructions, one is in everlook, one in gadz... and one is in marshal refuge in un'goro crater. Just clik on the NPC and then summon little mechanical yeti with machine umi gave you, and that is it. Quest is NOT buged work's perfectly ! When you finish you get about 7700 xp and 3 yetis that you can summon to defand you !

for those who don't have coordinates, to find Quixxil, go up from the entrance of marshall's refuge about halfway, and then turn left and you'll see a goblin there. As ddc0660 said, he is hidding by some green foliage so he'll be hard to spot, if you find a small gnome named Linken, just go a little southwest from there where there are palm trees

This is a very easy and fun quest to do. A lot of people no longer go to Winterspring, and hence then they are missing out on a lot of fun. This quest chain is easy experience, fun, unique and has a very cool taste. World of WarCraft and Blizzard done a wonderful job with this quest.

I have submitted several screenshots of the goblins being scared and with their name highlighted in their correct zones. The model there is my level fifty-six druid.

the first parts of this chains is so dull with the low droprates, but this last part made it all worth it.
when scaring Quixxil in un'goro, and he screams "Why do you chase me, mechanical yeti? WHY?" i almost fell out of my chair. Sounded exactly like something Homer S. would say.

Currently there is no way to recharge the Yeti. The Developers are aware of this, and frankly, there's more than one that really wants to have his not disappear.

Fangtooth, one of the Community Managers has actually decided to never use up his last charge in the hopes of being able to recharge it later, whenever they get around to changing it. In the meantime, this is a fun object that's a bit better than a straight out novelty, but it's limited. :-\ Oh well.

Quixxil - 44,9 (SW from the drop not far at all)

I think it took longer to get the yeti fur and horns than it took to fly to the other destinations and perform the scare. In the end it is worth it if you want a good laugh.
