Southshore

Speak with Loremaster Dibbs in Southshore.

Description

<name>. If you don't mind a long journey then I have a task for you, to again help Stormwind fill its library.

The old kingdom of Alterac fell after the great war, and it had a large collection of books. It's a tragedy that the city is ruined, but even more tragic is all of their knowledge lost! We must recover what we can.

Southshore is the closest town to the Ruins of Alterac. Go there and speak with Loremaster Dibbs. He can direct you to the ruins, and to what books may be found there.

I don't know what the fuss is. It's only a WALK thru Wetlands cross the Thandol Span N to Arathi Highlands past Stromgarde (high level elites in there be careful--don't go in there and you'll be fine). Go to Hillsbrad (follow signs), then follow signs to Southshore (stay away from Tarren Mill) and you're there. There are some 20s beasts thru Hillsbrad and some 30s before that, but just keep going. The 30s didn't come after me and I as a 31 dealt with the others.

i found it easy to get to get to southshore... simply go to menethil harbor, run up the coast a bit then set yourself to auto swim around the edges of the fatigue limit... i wandered off and made myself a coffie and started cleaning my room... just make sure you check back every two mins or so to make sure your not in any trouble. Roughly five or ten mins to get there.

Watch out! Sometimes theres a group of undead lvl 35-36 patrolling from Arathi Highlands to Hillsbrad! Pretty nasty suckers:-) And they are walking, so if you get to run behind them as I did, then this is a pretty long journey!

If you do not have the flight path to Southshore yet you'll have to make the trek through the Arathi Highlands. Fly to Menethil Harbor from Ironforge then follow the road east then take the north fork at the merchent near his wagon. While trekking the road to Southshore, hit up the flight path in Arathi at Refuge Pointe.

This is a long run and the road through Arathi can be dangerous if you do this quest in you low to mid 20's. Watch for named elites that roam the road. Also there are level 30+ mobs that criss cross the road.

When you get to Southshore, don't forget to get the Southshore flight path.

At level 26 with the quest being red you'll get 700 exp from Loremaster Dibbs and 28 reputation points for Stormwind. If you had not made the trek prior to gaining this quest you'll get 1145 exp from all the zones you crossed for a grand total of 1845 exp for running to turn in a book and gaining two new flight paths. Boring but easy.

Well, the beasts (around the road) are lvl 31-33. Theres also a few lvl 37 raptors here and there but they're not really close to the road. Also a few forsaken bodyguards patrolling the road, around lvl 35. You can easily go around them (especially if you have the aspect of the cheetah etc.). Just follow the signs to Southshore. Man, I did this with my lvl 34 hunter and thought it would be tough! No way! Was the easiest journey i had done for a while...

Just die in the mines in Loch Modan and you will be resurrected in Southshore - I got there by level 8 and grabbed the gryphon route - at least that worked in 1.5.

Just a comment, maybe a question for the complainers - does this quest not show up in 'red' in ur Quest Log?&nbsp Maybe getting this so low level has to do with&nbsp the Stormwind connection - going back and forth and what not....?

Just did this again on my alt, and I can confirm you need that Duskwood drop to start the pre-req to get this.

Was level 39 (lvl req. +1) and couldn't speak to Sheaf till I handed him the book

as a lvl 20 rogue I made the journey without much of a problem at all. Obviously using stealth through arathi (I'd also reccomend stealthing through half of wetlands, as those crocs aren't very nice), and only caught the attention of one mob, to which I just did a sprint/evade and no other problems after that. no deaths, just a really long boring trek.

once you get out of arathi the mobs are generally 24-25.
