Krastinov's Bag of Horrors

Locate Jandice Barov in the Scholomance and destroy her. From her corpse recover Krastinov's Bag of Horrors. Return the bag to Eva Sarkhoff.
Krastinov's Bag of Horrors

Description

A great weight has been lifted from our hearts, <name>, but your task is not yet complete. Krastinov's master, Kirtonos, still lives.

Before you may face Kirtonos, however, you must first secure a method in which to summon him.

It is said that Jandice Barov stewards the blood of innocents from Krastinov to Kirtonos.

Find her in the sunken catacombs of Scholomance and strike her down. Bring back any clues that you may find.

Why do people find it necessary to criticize everything that someone says here? I read the comments to find out relevant information and 9 times out of 10 they turn into flame wars or debates on some completely unrelated/unimportant topic. Then, there are the posters like n00blets who decide to drop a "rofl" and degrade someone because it took them a little longer to complete an instance.

Perhaps it took him 4 hours because he cleared every mob in the instance instead of making a mad dash for the bosses. Maybe he got a phone call and had to take a break... Maybe you're full of s**t and it really took you 5 hours but you're trying to over-compensate for your... short-comings. No one is impressed.

Arrogant prick.

I hate people!

here's the scoop on jandice

those of you who've wiped in 5 and even 10 man groups against her will be surprised to learn she isn't that tough. it's the illusions that make this hard.

just before jandice disappears, she does an AOE curse on everyone within 10-15 yards. that curse is key. her illusions do very small damage, but that curse increases their damage significantly. make sure you have a druid or mage. tell the druid or mage that removing the curses is their PRIORITY for the fight.

the illusions can only be killed with PHYSICAL damage. arcane explosion, hellfire, etc. WILL NOT work here. druids' swipe, warriors' thunderclap, etc., WILL work. the good news: these illusions have like, no hit points. one hit kills them.

i can't be certain, but it appears that after a certain amount of time OR if you kill enough illusions, jandice comes back. she seems to spawn illusions at certain points as her health bar falls. thus stunning her repeatedly (she is stunnable) is a good idea.

in sum: remove those curses, do physical damage to illusions. stun her as much as you can. make sure your tank continues to do "/tar jandice" or "/target jandice" when he/she loses her. gg jandice.

During the fight with Jandice, she will spawn a large number of clones that do not take damage. A few useful tips:

1) Use the "V target" interface option so that nameplates show up above enemy NPCs. When Jandice clones, only her true form will have the name plate. DPS should target that instance.

2) Have a tank to an AoE taunt like demoralizing shout. Make sure not to AoE the clones, because once the tank loses aggro on a large number of them, it's going to be difficult to get them all off of whatever person aggroed them.

The easiest way to kill Jandice, Mage decurse, warrior tank in battle stance and thunder clap adds, and everyone else dps/stun jandice.&nbsp The easiest way to target her is to just hit V on your keyboard so the health bar will appear above the mobs heads.&nbsp In doing so, when she reappears, she is the only one with health over her head.

Simply put up a mark on her head, and there won't be a problem. Same way like AQ40 (Skeram :P).. and I know that the comments were posted 6 months ago, when the mark system did not exist. :P

If you bring a hunter this is the time to use his/hers pet. It will not loose focus on the real Jandice.
Hit pets target and you shoot on the right one.

The clones are actually immune only to AoE. The best way to handle them with healers in mind is to have everyone use an auto-attack and just right click them (wand for casters). You can eliminate enough of them such that everyone but a priest or healer can turn back a focus on Jandice, and easily finish them.

It's a quest series, accepting "Doctor Theolen Krastinov, the Butcher" isn't enough to progress to "Krastinov's Bag of Horrors". You need to actually complete "Doctor Theolen Krastinov, the Butcher" first. If you read the quest text this should be apparant.

In the big room where you get the choice to go either left (Viewing Room door), forward (through the plagued hatchlings and to Rattlegore) and right, you choose the right path to get to Jandice Barov

Anyone know if it is possible to:

1) 5-man up to Jandice Barov and kill her,
2) 1 member of group get the Krastinov's Bag of Horrors and leave the instance,
3) Rest of the group stays in the instance to keep it running,
4) Member that left the instance drops off the Bag with Eva Sarkoff (turning in the Krastinov's Bag of Horrors quest)
5) That person gets the Kirtonos the Herald quest along with the Blood of Innocents
6) That person returns to the rest of the group and shares the quest,
7) 5-man then summons Kirtonos, slays him so each person can complete the quest

Or does each person need a Bag to turn in?&nbsp Do you even GET multiple bags when killing Jandice?&nbsp And if the Kirtonos quest isn't shareable, can you rotate people leaving the instance for turning in the quest, or do the spawns repopulate too fast?

This is intended to be done as a 5 man group. I'd be surprised if you can even do it as a raid, this is not a raid quest. The Barov is simple to kill, with the exception of the challenge of keeping her targeted when she summons her own raid group of illusionary copies. Our lock reported his AoE was ineffective against them, as a mage I was assigned to spamming frostbolt on the boss while the warrior tanked her, and dropping decurse on party members.

Really, the hardest part of this is the trashmob skeletons you have to kill to get to her that are immune to magic of any kind.

Can you do this quest in a 10man raid? cause jandice is tough, or maybe my mage was retarded...

I just created a macro "/target jandice". After she splits off into her ghosties about 5 seconds later she shows back up even if you don't kill the spawn. By hitting the macro button you'll have her locked once more for your blasting enjoyment. She dies pretty fast when everyone is focused on her.
